ArmyBengal
Smith or not, they really need to take another RT anyway.
TJJackson
True......but.....if he were to sign a long term deal today (hopefully with tons of money tied to weight limits, workouts, and graded performance) we could focus on a OLT to groom instead of a ORT
ArmyBengal
I get that thought as well.

I have no idea if Joe's sources are any good, but there it is anyhow.
Wraith
A Good Later round RT prospect might be Brennan Williams from North Carolina, he is a bit of an injury risk but his dad played in the NFL and he has all the physical tools could be a nice 3rd or 4th round pickup. ArmyBengal
Williams from UNC is who TJ and I have been discussing and I agree. As for Smith, I heard on the way in today, that when Marvin said he was hopeful to get him resigned, that should be interpretted to mean there is only a slight hiccup, but that it will probably get done. I don't know how much to put into that, but they said usually Marvin doesn't react that way and usually only does when something is close to being complete. COB
I have one huge question related to Andre Smith: How much does he weigh right now?
TJJackson
huge questionPun intended?I'd love to know the answer myself. If mama's meatloaf and greens has him above 360 right now, pass pass pass
COB
No pun intended! It is almost 2 pm on the day of the 1st round of the draft. Untie the tether, open the door to the hangar, and let airship Andre float away. Hopefully to somewhere in the NFC.

cHaD711Johnson
There's no market. The deal will get done. Clearly not before the draft, but no need to spend a high pick on a RT now.
BengalByTheBay
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/pat-kirwan/22144192/almost-overnight-market-has-changed-for-offensive-tackles"The Eagles grabbed Lane Johnson and that has to put Jason Peters in play. On the right side Andre Smith needs to be back in Cincinnati now or he may hear the Bengals select Menelik Watson and move on. Eric Winston and Tyson Clabo are both sitting on the sidelines waiting for a call and their price is coming down. Smith is going to get a lesson in economics."Yup

Stripes
The offseason has turned significantly for the better over the last two days.
membengal
Yup. I was never overly worried, as Bengals front office has earned my trust over the last few years. The last few days has reinforced that.

Stripes
NFL Network called it a "long-term" deal. Money details aren't available yet.So it isn't the carrot-dangling 1 year thing you've wanted. :P/>
TJJackson
as long as it is vet min or nearly so with lots of incentives and very little guarenteed, I'm fine with long term

The more the guarenteed money, imh, the worse his play over the course of the contractall imho, of courseso thats why the 'f' I care. membengal
They have like 28 bajillion dollars squired away under the cap. When they want to get Dunlap and Atkins done, they will get done.
HoosierCat
TJ, I'm hearing the deal is 7 years, $100 million, fully guaranteed, and the Bengals are throwing in a "Fatburger" franchise.
