Classy, TJ.

No worries, SL

Both on here and on go-bengals.com this guy is nothing but an obnoxious troll

pretty much everything he writes is appended with "and if you dont agree with me, you're stupid"

thats pretty much his whole point - we're all stupid, and he's the smart one

ergo the classiness of my response

Don't tick him off, Hoosier, or you may be next. tongue.gif

I'd like nothing better than for Harrison to take a poke at me. I'd sue the mudderpucker for every cent MB just paid him, all 11 of 'em. Then I'd go buy me a piece of bubblegum.

I'm pretty sure he has insurance, so maybe you could go after that as well and get me a piece of that bubblegum to.

I still think they make Big League Chew, so maybe a pack of that.

I do not like this fit of harrison at all. He is a career 3-4 pass rusher who made his living off an over aggressive style of attacking. Zimmers system is a 4-3 system that is predicated on gap control and staying home. He may occasionally flash or make a couple big sacks, but i just see this as a player who will have more bad plays than good ones for this team. Would have paid a lot more for Dansby personally.

That said, he is better than Lawson, and much much better than Maybin, who i think most of you underestimate how bad he is.

The thing is Zimmer or Marvin Really never been able find that style SLB to utilize.

Outside of M.Johnson who they did try and utilize as he played Linebacker. So I see them using Harrison to his Strengths...Like I could see them Blitzing him then dropping MJ or Carlos back in to coverage.

We have a decided opening for a LB who can follow this direction..."Kill the quarterback". I am pretty confident that Harrison can still follow that direction. See the last 8 games of last year for the Steelers.

Ya I almost feel bad for big Ben<Really I don't> But Harrison is gonna play with Reckless Abandon in the Steelers game to show that they made a mistake. He's gonna rape Big Ben like it was a bathroom in Reno.

Jamison Hensley (ESPN): The last time I talked to Marvin Lewis, he believed Smith would be signed in "short order." I think it can get done before the draft. Smith knows his value drops further after the draft when teams address their needs.

Twitter alive with rumors that the bengals will trade up for an OT & Moobs is currently the size of Jabba the Hut...coughcoughcough...smoke is so thick I can't see...

gotta linkee, little jedi poodoo?

The reports, and I use the term very loosely, appear to originate from pro football central, which has had accuracy issues before. So I wouldn't take it for anything more than something some guy said on the internet.

FWIW according to Reedy the two sides did talk over the weekend but obviously nothing came of it.

Now, if you're into the whole 11-dimensional chess thing, it could be the case that the whole Moobs affair is secretly an epic smokescreen. Behind the scenes, the two sides have a deal in place, but are acting like they're on the outs in order to convince teams they're after Fluker (which they're not) in order to push down a player they want.

Of course, that's just some guy on the internet talking...

I will tell you what, if Dre walks and then the Bengals not only take his replacement early, but give up picks to move up to do so ??

See TV, flames, pieces...

You won't be the only one.

I have no problem moving up in this draft, they already have enough picks. I will hate it if they trade down for more useless picks that will be cut after the preseason. Now if they stock pile for next year, I'll be OK with that.

Moving up to draft the replacement for a player you took in the top 10 when an adequate replacement will either be there at #21 or later, all while giving up picks to do that is just silly. Either find a way to keep the player you drafted or let the draft come to you.

For those keeping score, the Bengals have $28.1 million in cap space left.

Yes, Yes but 20 million of that is being reserved for injury replacement you know...so...if Andy Dalton goes down they can replace him with Tom Brady or just in case there is a sudden and un-curable outbreak of e-bola (do we go to Phoenix this year?) and they have to replace half the team you know we gotta be prepared. So really they just have 8 million and that has to be reserved for the draft...so what this really mean is that the Bengals are in cap hell!!!! Or would be if this was Bizzaroworld.

After football Mike Brown and Geoff Hobson should start up a CPA firm because they KNOW creative accounting.

Apparently Marvin said some kinda positive things at the news conference today over the Smith talks.

Also, I am pretty pleased at the chatter from Harrison today.

It depends on who they target, if they try to move up.

I'm not sold on the tackles at the top of the board, IMHO. And I doubt the Bengals would be so aggressive.

Stick to the perceived plan. They need RB, LB, Safety, OL and some help at WR.... DL, CB, TE look stocked.

My bet is Dre is signed by tomorrow and it will be a moot issue.

I just checked with Hobson and the truth is all they have left is a Dave and Buster's card with 3.75 credit left and a couple of bus tokens that the metro wont take anymore

sorry buddy

I found it odd that Marvin listed DE as a area of need

I take this to mean that Dunlap or MJ (and by the evidence thus far, likely MJ) has no intention of returning here once the existing contract is over

Well, if you're a cynical bastige you can assume that they don't have any intention of paying any DE top dollar as long as they can keep chruning talent through the draft at key (read: big money) positions like DE and corner.

Or, if you want to go the Debbie downer route, you might figure that the Bengals believe that MJ's 2012 season was a fluke owned to a a crappy backup tackle for the Redskins and Dunlap can't stay healthy, so unless something changes in 2013 they ought to try and get better at the position.

Or, finally, you can flip the Who-Dey Homer switch and cheer on the development because Zimmer the Magician is brewing up a new 11-0 defense featuring 11 DEs and pass-rushing LBs which will crush opposing QBs like matchsticks and leave the bloodied remnants of enemy offenses behind us on the road of bones as we march to the Super Bowl. :)

Agreed. He handled some of those particularly stupid questions well. I want to slap the guy that wasted his time with: "James, what does the word 'leadership' mean to you?"
