ArmyBengal
I want nothing to do with him. That shoulder has been more than chronic at this point and those things don’t get better. Procedures for arthritis debridement, which is god awful painful, and multiple labral tears, along with a shoulder that has separated multiple times in a season is a huge red flag. I’m guessing that’s why no team wanted a piece of him in having to both give up picks and take on his contract.

HoosierCat
Sarquon Barkley a holdout, at least through camp, per Schefter. https://www.threads.net/t/Cuz6Sn_JdHr/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
ArmyBengal
Glad that’s not our issue. Man the RB market is hot ass.
AMPHAR
Rumor he turned down $12.5 average per year. Is he really going to sit out and lose a chunk of the franchise tag money and then go on the market next year expecting to beat $12.5 a year? Seems like a gamble. ArmyBengal
Barkley is a year younger than Mixon and isn't getting younger. If the Giants offered him 12.5 per year and he turned it down with two seasons either being lost or impacted by injury, he's crazy. Sucks RB's salaries aren't nearly 20 million, with continued expected growth, but it's too risky for a team to do that. Teams finding starting RB's in late rounds that produce isn't helping their case either. Like it or not, it's not one of those positions that teams are valuing as much as they once did. Maybe that changes in the future, maybe not.

RB market is going to get any better. He will likely sit out camp then sign the tender before the first game.
HoosierCat
Man, day 1 of camp that’s rough. Schefter: Lions’ S C.J. Gardner-Johnson suffered a non-contact knee injury during Monday’s practice before being carted off. Brutal. https://www.threads.net/t/CvFU7Lwu26J/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
ArmyBengal
I really do hate to see that for any player regardless of the team. Maybe he just tweaked it hard and he won't miss the whole dang season. We talked about him here.
HoosierCat
Up front? So…no annual salary? Very curious to see the structure on this. Schefter: No. 2 overall pick CJ Stroud and the Texans reached agreement on a four-year, fully-guaranteed, $36.2 million contract. 100% of the money is paid up front. https://www.threads.net/t/CvFsPfIJB3p/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
ArmyBengal
I think that's wrong. I think it's 100% of the signing bonus is paid up front.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. $23.4 million SB all up front.

Apparently he’s going to…take less money. Report today is that he’s at camp after signing a one year deal for “up to” $11 million. Basically it look like the franchise tag plus $1 million in incentives. What a clown. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38067192/sources-saquon-barkley-giants-agree-1-year-11m-deal
ArmyBengal
So much for all these RB's getting together and "solving" the problem facing their position within the league. Lets keep that group away from addressing real problems facing this country.

Lets keep that group away from addressing real problems facing this country. RBs have to push for rule changes. That is what devalued their position over time. The rule emphasis in 2011 have simply made long hand offs to WRs more popular. They reduced man coverage. Penalize defenses more for hitting WRs. RBs want to up their value they should be pushing for rule changes that favor more man coverage and also change the holding call to a spot foul. Overtime this would return the RB value somewhat. All of these current RBs are shit out of luck.
HoosierCat
Another from the “guys we talked about” file. Schefter: Former Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner, who just signed this week with the New Orleans Saints, tore his quadriceps and is out for the season, per source. https://www.threads.net/@adamschefter/post/CvQArpSu1Ob/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== That sucks. COB
Running Backs’ Union- “Listen up NFL, get rid of this exciting passing game you’ve developed, and bring back what people really want to see - 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Mano a Mano. The battle in the trenches. That way we running backs can earn more. Bring back the Wing T, the Single Wing, and dig up Bronco Nagurski, revive him with some zombie serum from Area 51, and let’s get this shit going again!” NFL - /sitting on a small mountain of money/ “No.”

ShulaSteakhouse
Good move for Fins probably., with Ramsey out. 1 year deal (curious what $ is). Odd that he was available I guess, would think a # of teams would've been interested. No idea.
ShulaSteakhouse
Turner apparently sharing reps with CTB with the #1's. But so is Ivey. I assume it's just camp match-up stuff.
Stripes
Turner seems like the camp star so far. Excited about him and CTB moving forward.
