3rd round picks can turn into multi year starters. At least we could get a player out of losing Bates.

Russel Wilson to the Steelers. Possibly the worst fit as a free agent I’ve ever seen.
-
I don’t get it. Jerry Jeudy has not looked good any time I’ve seen him play in the nfl. College was different. Just the Browns being the Browns I guess.
-
Now rumors are flying that the nfl screwed up their calculations and the Jessie bates compensatory pick should be a 3rd.

If I have a number 7-10 draft pick and the bengals are willing to give up Tee Higgins for that pick. I’d jump on it. High draft picks turn out to be good players, great players, mediocre players, and some bust. Higgins is a known quantity, he’s very good. Assuming you find his health to be promising, I’d gladly give up the pick that has the potential to be anywhere from bust to HOF for a very good player who’s still young and has 7 or 8 years left. 2017, pick 9 = John Ross 2017, pick 10 = Patrick Mahomes You can’t be sure what you’re getting. Higgins, assuming you have the money for a 4 or 6 year deal, is a no brainer if the bengals would take a 7-10 pick in the draft. I don’t think the Bengals would take a draft pick. Let’s say someone offers us a top 3-5 rated tackle in the league, and he’ll agree to a 4 year deal. I’d do that.

Just say no to these old tight ends looking to sign a deal then jump on IR for most of the season. No. Tight end is a brutal position. Guys fall off a cliff after a few years of blocking defensive ends and getting drilled by linebackers and safeties. There are rare exceptions but - rare. Even Gronk, who still had it, decided the punishment wasn’t worth it anymore.

Dude tore his Achilles while here, then hurt his mcl last year in week 13 with the Jets. He’d be depth at best. I think he had like 8 catches last year.

Broncos to cut Wilson, take an 85 million dollars dead money hit over two years. I don’t remember anyone taking that big a dead money charge, ever. So let’s say they decide to split it pretty evenly, 42.5 million per year against the cap. AND they gave up two firsts and two seconds to get Wilson. Which means they’re 1. Short on cap space and 2. Don’t have 4 high picks they could have on price controlled rookie deals. Payton better be a genius at selecting mid to low level free agents.

Listen you elitist fuck, unions are what built this country. It didn’t use to be this way, but these United States today only serve the rich. It says says a lot about our current corporatocracy that the gazillionaire players in our beloved NFL have union protection, but those Walmart workers you look down your nose at, do not. For gods sakes, to even avail yourself of the very institutions that were put in place to help the poor, today you have to be rich!

Football Message Board Flamewar Fodder: Can’t seem to get much traction on this flamewar, (I’ve patiently waited 3 minutes), so I’ll take the other side. Unions! I’ll quote the great Paul Brown: “No Bolsheviks!” I don’t give a fuck if every Walmart has 5000 versions of Meemaw and Peepaw standing there in a blue vest saying “welcome to Walma….(voice trails off in nihilistic resignation)” They did it to themselves, they voted against their economic interests for decades in order to pursue a backward social agenda. They voted themselves out of the middle class, and now all they have is their orange hitler and a shriveled up fist to shake at an uncaring world. And that’s all they fucking deserve. Go Capitalism!
-
Re the above: unions are what this country needs right now. Our middle class is disappearing, and our disaffected unfortunates are, predictably, trying to plan Bastille Day 2.0 as we speak. That’s when they’re not blaming all our societal ills on, again predictably, anyone that looks or sounds different from them. That’s right, good old fashioned football message board political flamewar incoming! Let’s get it on! RE: reducing caffeine intake. Never, and I mean never.

You should be ashamed of yourself, and proud of yourself.

That family thing is the strangest facet of these team surveys. If you want your wife and kids to get some sort of royalty treatment on game day, put it in your contract. Otherwise stfu.

Yes I’m interested in Leonard Williams. Interesting fact - he’s the first nfl player since 1930 to play in 18 consecutive games in a season. Dude got traded last year from the Giants to the Seahawks. When traded, Giants hadn’t yet had their bye, but the Seahawks already had theirs. I do not know how this affected his money. He signed to play 17 games, and I’m sure his game checks were calculated with a 17 game season in mind. So what happens when he plays in 18 games?

Titans Hire Callahan as HC, Bengals Bump Pitcher to OC
COB replied to volcom69's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
I wonder what their connection to this Regula dude is. Seems too random for this guy to just get this job out of the blue. -
30 million increase is unbelievable. Actually it’s very believable, the nfl is ridiculously profitable. Speaking of that, I just read the IRS is looking at every nfl owner. The feds woke up one day and decided to do their job. Before they jump on Mike too hard they should revisit what happened the last time they took him on.
