volcom69 Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 I wish Zac would be more of a coach, and let Pitcher run the offense. Zacs game management is still awful, maybe if he gave up play calling he would do a better job at just coaching. I still feel though he hires his buddies instead of hiring know coaches around the league. I felt and still feel like he hired Golden because it was his friend, wish he would have went in another direction. His team alwsys finds a way to mess it up, whether it’s a penalty, or turnover, or whatever mistake that maybe, and they can hardly ever overcome that. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 I’ve said before and continue to believe that Zac Taylor brings nothing special to the table as a head coach. He seems like a good guy and the players appear to like him, but when it comes to the meat of the job — game planning, in-game adjustments, play calling/design, talent evaluation, etc. — he’s a replacement level guy. If Andy Dalton was the prime meridian of QBs, Zac is the prime meridian of head coaches. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Often makes me wonder if Burrow would have won a Super Bowl with Marvin when Zimmer was here coaching the defense. Not that Marvin was great but alwsys made me wonder Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 30 Author Report Posted September 30 Marvin and maybe to a larger degree, the front office's issue back then had a lot to do with taking chances on guys. Sometimes it would work out and other times it wouldn't. Honestly, I had fun watching some of those guys when they were on it. However, when their decisions went sideways, it went WAAAAAAAAAAAY sideways. I loved Zimmer. Quote

I mean maybe Golden will get there, but how long does that take, another year yet? Speaking of Golden I swear every week since last year this guys had said in his Interviews that the LBs look good they are getting better, but need better tackling? At what point does this change, at what point do they start tackling better? If it had not happened yet not sure it will! Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Jalen Davis (hammy) to IR. (Appears Dax will move back to the slot v Jax, with Turner and Ivey outside.) His roster spot goes to Hudson, who was signed to the active roster yesterday. Cook and Duggar both DNP Wednesday. Two safeties signed to the taxi squad: *Signed S Isaiah Nwokobia to the practice squad. Nwokobia (6-1, 205), a rookie out of Southern Methodist University, was a college free agent signee of the Bengals during the offseason. He was waived by Cincinnati on Aug. 4. *Signed S Beau Brade to the practice squad. Brade (6-1, 200), a third-year player out of the University of Maryland, originally was a college free agent signee of Baltimore in 2024. He has played in 26 regular-season games for the Ravens (2024) and N.Y. Giants ('25), totaling two defensive tackles and three special teams tackles. He spent this past offseason and training camp with the Giants, then was waived on final cuts. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 30 Author Report Posted September 30 Not sure about that move of Dax back to the slot. I've long gotten the impression that's not where he wants to be. Maybe I'm incorrect in my recollection, but also Ivey starting opposite Turner? Nothing personal, but that doesn't exactly boost my confidence. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Cook and Dugger might not play this week, man they are in trouble on that back end. Wonder who gets them lined up if it’s Cook or not. Playing some new practice squad guys does not sound good at all. Guess will see later in the week what happens Quote

Not sure how I feel about that, but I guess if he knows the defense then there’s that Quote
Coltsguy451 Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Could be a rough one, Jags look to be firing on all cylinders. Naturally my support lies here. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Battle, Cook Limited yesterday. Duggar, Hill, Risner, Young DNP. (Young already ruled out.) Safeties PJ Jules snd Russ Yeast readying for possible action. Hill confirmed as slot corner for the game. Turner and Ivey outside. Golden making noises about giving Stewart more snaps. All I know is that if they can’t get pressure on Lawrence this game could get ugly fast. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 1 Author Report Posted October 1 Agree with you Hoosier. The D line had better find a way to get after Trevor or he's going to make it a rough day. 2 Quote
Prophecy Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Trevor Lawrence is 0-3 vs Bengals and Joe Burrow's going to give Lawrence flashbacks of the 2020 National Championship game Bengals 37 Jaguars 23 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 1 Author Report Posted October 1 To be honest, I had more faith they were capable of beating the Steelers than the Jags. Does that mean I don't think they can beat the Jags? No, but this game should be more of a challenge and the Steelers won. Limit the stupidity coming from the sideline and that should help immensely. As previously mentioned for 3 weeks, stop the pre-snap penalties, tackle better, and let Pitcher call the game. 1 Quote

Like if they drive it straight down the field and score 2 tds on their first two possessions. We should have a plan in place to not allow that to happen again. Maybe take the ball if we win the toss. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Sounds like Risner is hurt also, DNP yesterday and is on the rehab field today. Not sure if that means anything or not have not said if he was going this week or not. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Add Turner (ankle) to the limited list. At this rate we won’t have a secondary by Sunday. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Play one game against the Steelers and the players go to shit and are hurt! Terrible Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Lucky it’s not worse after playing those dirty pieces of shit. Whole franchise should be burnt down. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted October 2 Report Posted October 2 Yup can’t stand the Steelers at all!! Browns doing what the Bengals couldnt, at least on defense, beat the Steelers up! Quote
volcom69 Posted October 2 Report Posted October 2 All those double teams for Lawrence and Allen you would think Golden would run some A gap blitzes right up the gut? Keep offenses guessing. Golden needs to talk to Mike Zimmer some about that Hey Golden hope you’re watching this and actually see that blitzing does work!! Pitts O-line looks like Swiss cheese, but somehow your D-line couldnt do shit. Figure this crap out! 1 Quote
COB Posted October 2 Report Posted October 2 Pretty funny watching Pittsburgh fall to the Deshaun Watson lead Browns. Yinzers all over western PA are nostalgic for the time when THEY had the sex offender quarterback who would lead THEIR team on game winning drives. 1 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Friday at 08:41 AM Author Report Posted Friday at 08:41 AM The only thing better than seeing the Steelers lose was Rodgers getting pissed at McCarthy for not getting a play in and McCarthy calling him a fucking asshole. Priceless. 1 Quote

It’s why I stay away from Steelers games. Just the worst football group of people you will come across. Even worse than Bills fans. Present company excluded. Quote
