ArmyBengal Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Lets see... How did we get here exactly? Oh yeah, I remember. Quote So they’re going to lose now that I started the thread and not Army, but it’s Monday afternoon and Pitt is already flailing around. Almost prophetic in nature. Some might say you have a gift to see into the future my friend !! Ok, I'm good now and will try to right this ship this week. If not, starting threads will be up for grabs. LOL... The Jags come into Cincinnati this coming Sunday after blasting the Patriots down in Jacksonville. Couple that win with another win over the Detroit Southeast Browns and a loss to the Donks and they are 2-1 as well. They are sitting atop an atrocious AFC south and will be looking to break the 13-13 head to head tie in their favor. The Bengals have won the last 4 against them and Trevor Lawrence is having a decent season through 3 weeks. The Jags are only averaging 195 passing yards and are top 10 in rushing with nearly 120 yards per game. Their WR's are Parker Washington with 220 yards and 2 TDs and Jakobi Meyers with 132 yards and 2 TDs. RB Bhayshul Tuten has 200 yards on the season with a 4.7 YPC average and 2 TD's. Tuten is pretty much their entire running game, so hey Bengals, lets focus there. That and bringing pressure to Lawrence. He has struggled there through the start of the season. Their o-line features a rookie LG (Pregnon) that is struggling to start his career and the Jags have been shuffling their o-line around as well. I'm hoping this points to more pronounced pressure both inside and out. That rookie is going to need all the help he can get with Dexter in the middle. Their defense has a young secondary but stop the run well without a RB breaking 40 yards in a game through the first 3 weeks. They also lead the league in points allowed with 36, as opposed to the Bengals who have given up 63 for comparison. I'm thinking bounce back game for the Bengals playing at home but could be more of a defensive battle. Bengals- 20 Jags- 17 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 28 Author Report Posted September 28 To make matters worse, I have to figure out what jersey to wear this week now that the Atkins jersey was done in by bad mojo. Thinking about going with the white color rush Burrow jersey. Hasn't seen a game in quite some time. I'll let the Atkins jersey recover and hopefully return for a playoff run. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted September 28 Author Report Posted September 28 Somehow I knew that was coming LOL 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 28 Author Report Posted September 28 Honestly though, this doesn't shake my confidence in what I expect for the season. Quote
glasgowbengal Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 From Dehner: This marked the sixth time since 2023 that Burrow and the Bengals took the field trailing by a score in the final four minutes. They were 0-5 in those games. Once Burrow fumbled after being hit by Derrick Harmon, that moved to 0-6. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Who knows what this game will bring, they could win and go on a huge win streak for all I know. We have seen it before. Bigger question is do we trust the coaches to get this turned around. That’s the big question I have. Don’t make stupid mistakes, and make it hard. Hopefully starting with this game we start seeing a smarter team! Quote
COB Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Play more disciplined football. I’m not happy with the way this team is coached right now. Inexperienced punt returner, roughing the punter, etc. Coaching needs to be better. Quote
COB Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 That roughing the punter is about as bad as it gets. Such low probability of success in that play, and a huge risk. They need to weigh the utility of the conduct vs the magnitude of the risk. Just a lack of coaching, situational awareness was zero. Fucking bullshit, same Zac Taylor shit over and over. Glad he’s working cheap so Mike can pocket a few more million every year. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 28 Author Report Posted September 28 Yes, Burrow fumbled the ball away, so did Williams and they simply cannot do that, but play calling was highly suspect. Like I said, they should have known what was coming if they simply watched their first few weeks of ball and looked at the stats. Knowing they were missing a RB should have helped immensely on defense, but they were constantly out of position. I would absolutely LOVE to hear someone ask Zac why Williams was taking punt return duties when nothing was wrong with Dohnte. Just stupid decision making. The only thing I could think of was they didn't want to expose him with Yoshi out. Really though? So lets have a guy back there for the first time when you have a chance to go up two scores with under 11 minutes remaining. Just mind numbing and do I trust the coaches to not do that again as Volcom asks? No I don't. It happens too often where Zac tries to be too cute and come up with something that will throw off the other team. Hey we are they can't stop the run, should we keep doing it? Nope, lets throw the ball, they won't see that coming. Hey we are throwing the ball all over the place, should we keep doing it? Nope, lets run the ball, they won't see that coming. Hey we haven't fumbled a punt yet this season, should we keep the same punt returner? Nope, lets put someone out there for the first time, they won't see that coming. I really hate Zac and root for things to go well despite that goofy faced motherfucker with that stupid look when things go wrong. He's like, how did they see that coming? Fuck you Zac. 2 Quote
Stripes Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Zac and Golden got whooped by veteran coaches. I like the Jacksonville matchup more. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Young out. Tinsley resigned off the Houston PS. Quote

It's a weird, early season loss in the division Get the w vs the jags and it's fine. Division games are weird. Still surprised the Bengals loss tho. Rodgers randomly was 28 again Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Williams cut to open up the roster space for Tinsley. Quote
COB Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Williams drops that punt, goodbye. Tinsley could potentially return punts though I don’t recall him doing so. He has great hands. Put him back there and tell him to fair catch everything. Quote
Stripes Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Probably going to be Meyers returning everything. I never cared about punt returns at all beyond "don't fumble". Glad they moved on that immediately. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 29 Author Report Posted September 29 Williams suffered the poor decision by Zac to put his ass on the field when he hadn't fielded a punt yet this year. Meyers was perfectly healthy and capable of doing what he had done the first 2 weeks of the season. Am I concerned about losing Williams and picking up Tinsley? No, I actually prefer that. However, Zac is a dick. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 Saw some awesome stats on Burrow today he is looking like the 2024 Burrow which is awesome. Now the rest of the team get your shit together please, I’m tired of getting my hopes up only to be shattered because of stupid shit!!! Still trying to figure out if this team is better than the 2021, or even the 2022 team. On paper it seems to be. If they stop making dumb mistakes and giving the opponent easy ways to score then they could be. Quote
Prophecy Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 4 hours ago, ArmyBengal said: However, Zac is a dick. Amen. This team won't win it all with Zac as a Head Coach. He was ok when nobody else wanted the job, but with then talent they have now, any Coach would want this job. The again, The Brown family would need to open their wallets, because no decent Coach would come for $4 million a year they pay Zac. He never had the experience needed, and is constantly outcoached, but bailed out by some really good players. This is not an overreaction after 1 loss. It's the same tune I've been singing for years. Orlando Brown can get beat w/ speed sometimes and risner is meh, but other than that it's really really good. The dline athleticism is the best it's ever been imo. Cbs are underrated imo. The Steelers are a veteran team that got lucky and Rodgers got hot. Shit happens My bills looked like ass against a bad charger team and Herbert refused to win a game Allen was trying to give to him. Even though Cincinnati has 1 loss, they've looked better in totality than the bills in the 1st 3 games imo. I expect a close game vs the jags but the Bengals are the better team imo. Burrow will outduel trevor Quote
volcom69 Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Why in the world are they putting DJ Ivey on the outside over Davis? I would rather see what Davis brings over Ivey in the starting role. Some reason this team hates playing draft picks 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 30 Author Report Posted September 30 The Bengals may win the Super Bowl with Zac as the head coach. If they do, I simply feel it would be in spite of him. The poor decision making, poor play calling, trying to be cute when there is no reason for it. Maybe I'm wrong and he's a great coach. Just not thinking so. 1 Quote
