What’s the point

Eh, dumpster fires have their own entertainment value. I mean, if we can't haz superbowl, might as well go for the nuclear meltdown, right? You want another road-to-nowhere 7-9 win season? I saw screw that. Bring on Armageddon. At least the popcorn will be tasty.

This seems like the kind of game the Detroit Lions, as a franchise, would lose when they’re having success.

Both teams are known for playing weird games that subvert expectations.

The Bengals still possess great skill position talent, and Detroit’s secondary can be had on a good day.

So I tell you what, boys. I am feeling this one.

Lions 41

Bengals 6

Inept QB play is like a disease on the entire team.  Make no mistake Jake Browning as been inept.   Don't be surprised IF that somehow just gets to low tier starting QB level that somehow the Bengals pull the upset coming off the road two weeks.

The defense while horrible stats wise; each and every week has been left unprotected  either by an offense unable to convert 3rd downs or rash of turnovers.  They somehow have played a big part in two wins.

Get a little bit of competence out of the QB and the Bengals could pull an upset.    Bad news, I think Jake Browning is trash and that's unlikely.   He's doing the same shit he does in the preseason.  Ruins any chance of an entertaining game.

I wish the rumors of 5th for Wilson were true IF you are wanting entertaining games for the rest of the season.   Not that puts them into the Superbowl but a move like that would tell a lot about Burrow's timeline to return without saying anything.

Came into last 2 games totally unprepared. Thats on the coaching staff.

I just hope Duke and Zac dont do something dumb, like trade for a vet QB and give up draft picks we need to improve, just to try and save their jobs, and go 7-10 in the process.

There is no QB out there aside from Superman Joe Burrow, that could do anything behind this Oline.

Made this comment at work today.  Don't give up picks for any QB out there.
I don't think a Russell Wilson is going to come in here and take this team to the playoffs.
Could I be wrong?  Sure, but I don't think that's the case.

I just saw Browning is clean in the pocket for 64 percent of his drop backs, that is by far more than enough time to complete passes down the field. The o-line still sucks, but there is time and Browning does not throw it.

Don’t worry though Zac believes in Browning and there won’t be any QB competition. Zac is becoming quite the jokester anymore

Well if its a 5th for Wilson or a similar QB,  I'd be all for that.    Even if it meant no playoffs.   Why?   Because you can't evaluate anything as a fan with a QB that is as bad as Browning.    He's been horrible and it creeps into everything on the team.

Just like a MVP QB makes everything look better.

Also through the magic of technology I've seen a lot of individual All-22 on the line.  Unless the creator is removing the horrible snaps the O-line isn't the root cause of the epic failure of the offense thus far.     Now the penalties?  Yeah, that's crap.

That's why I have no problem letting Zac sink or swim with Browning.   If he sinks which so far he has done, he should be fired.    Prior to these last 2 weeks they had opportunity to prove some narratives false.

The way it looks right now.  Zac can't coach a QB unless they are No. 1 overall  "no duh" pick.     Personally, I think Browning is trash and has been trash and the big mistake of not trying to have competition at every spot is the fatal flaw.

Neither No. 1 or No. 2 QB has had an open competition for their spot in multiple years.  Absurd when you look at the play from the QB spot for the entire season so far.

Myles Murphy has the unfortunate designation of a 1st round draft pick at 28.   Its being proven to be an average to below average class outside of Will Anderson.    The next two DE taken after him have been busts also; one of which has already been cut and resides on our PS.

So I have my doubts he'll ever produce a double digit sack year.    Could he produce a Sam Hubbard stat line?   Have no idea and that's the issue right now.   He's on pace for 2 sacks.

If he's turning that corner lets hope he runs into a QB more often while he's doing it.  I don't fully buy it.

Worst ownership in the history (yes I now put us behind the halslem family and jerry jones) of the NFL, a total dumbass singular minded HC that doesn't realise teams have figured out his offensive scheme years ago and the only reason we were actually good was Joe Burrow changing the plays.

The fact he is adamant that Browning is the starter just proves how stubborn he is and will never change.  The ownership is too dumb to notice this and will never fire him.  If I was Joe, Chase and Higgins I would request a trade asap.

and just for kicks Lions 64 - 6 Bengals

That Niners rams game was an eye opener.  Niners are missing top 3 receivers, their QB, their TE George Kittle, and pass rusher Nick Bosa.  Just a horrific injury list.  But they are a well coached team and the depth guys came ready to play and beat a good Rams team.

They have a smart former player, John Lynch, as their GM.  Their scheme is the opposite of ours.  We need a top 3 QB in the league to do anything.  They can plug in a decent backup and compete.  Just night and day difference between the organizations.

Roster move per da site:

The Bengals today made the following roster moves:

**Acquired DT Jordan Jefferson on waivers from San Francisco. Jefferson (6-4, 317), a second-year player out of Louisiana State University, originally was a fourth-round pick of Jacksonville in 2024. He has played in nine career games for the Jaguars (2024) and 49ers ('25), and has 12 total tackles with one sack. He was waived by the 49ers yesterday.

**Waived DT Howard Cross III. Cross, a rookie out of the University of Notre Dame, has played in one game for the Bengals this season and was inactive for three contests.

Has anything changed with Burrow? Is he still expected back week 15 or 16?

There hasn’t been much discussion of it. I’m under the assumption that his return depends upon the win-loss record going into December. He’s only even potentially playing if they still have a shot.
