HoosierCat Posted November 1, 2023 Author Report Posted November 1, 2023 First shoe of the season drops in Vegas: The Las Vegas Raiders fired coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler late Tuesday night, less than two years after coming to Southern Nevada from New England. Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce was named interim coach and Champ Kelly was promoted from assistant G.M. to interim general manager. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38791276/next-las-vegas-raiders-firing-coach-josh-mcdaniels-gm-dave-ziegler Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 Josh McDaniels sucks. How long until he's back in New England? Quote
COB Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 McDsniels ran off Jay Cutler in Denver because he’s so smart. Went to Oakland, did the exact same thing, ran Derek Carr out of there. In both cases, gets fired forthwith. Quote
COB Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 I actually feel sorry for Mark Davis. Dude desperately wants to build a winning organization, but it feels like he’s a little out of his depth. Quote
Stripes Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 He's 0 for 2 trying to get former head coaches to be current head coaches. Maybe try someone new. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 Let’s not forget him taking the job in Indy and then running back to New England. Clown Quote

He has had winners and he had fired all of them the next year, the guy had no clue on what he is doing at all. 1 Quote
AMPHAR Posted November 7, 2023 Report Posted November 7, 2023 Just hope the Raiders can hang a loss on the Chiefs. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 15, 2023 Author Report Posted November 15, 2023 2024 peek from ESPN. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/38895900/2024-nfl-free-agent-ranking-top-25-buzz-predictions-burns-cousins-higgins They have Higgins listed as the top FA WR and No. 6 overall. As we all expect he is almost certainly gone. Jonah shows up at 15. They seem to think teams will look at him as a RT and that he will get double digit numbers annually but not as high as McGlinchy got last March (17.5). So maybe there’s a chance if both sides are interested. Chido gets a nod in the post-top 25 honorable mentions. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 This is going to be the first free agency where the Bengals are going to have to make some really hard decisions. Some may say Bates, Hurst and Perrine presented challenges, but it pales in comparison to this coming off season. On top of Higgins, Jonah and Chido, the Bengals also have Reader and Boyd to figure out. To a lesser degree, they also have contributors like ADG, Sample, Tupou, Irwin, Bailey and even Trayveon Williams at RB. Don't want to forget our 1 year TE Irv Smith Jr. either. Some of those might not be HUGE losses, but they represent people to replace if they don't return. Then there is still paying JaMarr and what 2025 free agency is going to bring. They better hope their draft game is on point, because they are going to need contributors on those rookie deals. Quote
AMPHAR Posted November 16, 2023 Report Posted November 16, 2023 Bengals are projected to have $70m in cap room. With 17 UFA, some of which are very important contributors. Most importantly that $70m in cap room includes $9.8 for Chase so an extension is certainly possible. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Speaking of former Bengals free agent signings... The Jets just signed Trevor Siemian to their active roster. He's going to be the back up to starter, wait for it.... Tim Motherf*cking Boyle !! Who is Tim Boyle you ask? So are the Jets fans, but apparently he's been in the league for like 5 years. Good Luck Jets !! Not really, I hate you too. Die. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 21, 2023 Author Report Posted November 21, 2023 Yeah it’s gotten pretty freakin thin at QB all across the league this year. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 22, 2023 Author Report Posted November 22, 2023 An idle thought; nay — not even so but a mere flight of fancy as insubstantial as a early morning mist… Jake Browning is an ERFA in 2024. Ponder for a moment his value were he to lead the team to the playoffs…or even the big winter dance? Yeah, ain’t gonna happen but still… Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 23, 2023 Report Posted November 23, 2023 That shit would be EPIC. Not only that, but he would leave because some team was foolish enough (yes Browns, I’m looking at you) to pay him a buttload and we end up with a 3rd comp pick. Quote

But that’s just it, as an ERFA he can’t leave as long as the bengals tender a league minimum offer! The Bengals could set a price in draft picks and his agent shop him around. If anyone bites it’s a simple sign and trade. It will never happen if corse but it’s a fun fantasy to entertain until reality comes crashing down. Quote
TJJackson Posted November 28, 2023 Report Posted November 28, 2023 It looks like Tee can leave after all, as his replacement just became available :-) hehe (sorry Tee, I love ya big guy, this was just really a piss poor attempt at humor) https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1729269375235211711?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1729269375235211711|twgr^cde67f8b8324b5cd5fceaa28ffffcd00890fc2df|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.si.com%2Fnfl%2Fbengals%2Fnews%2Fformer-bengals-first-round-pick-john-ross-hoping-to-make-nfl-return Quote
ArmyBengal Posted November 28, 2023 Report Posted November 28, 2023 Good luck to Ross, but I think I will work on keeping Tee knowing there's next to no shot at it happening. Quote
