Nah.  He owns Premier League team, wrestling.  Shad Khan has sports "investments" as hobbies.  More interesting, IMO, is most thought the Jags would be the first team to jump at any London opportunity.   Jags are staying for a while with local investment.

Also interesting that Jags stadium was originally a highschool stadium then Gator Bowl etc.  They tore down everything but a portion of the upper deck prior to Bengals moving into PBS/Paycore. 

They've done big renovations before that to that stadium to host a Superbowl.  Yet, its 1.4billion to renovate again?   Paycore is only $400m something.

Those Florida/Georgia cocktail party games must really put stress on the stadium.

Hamilton County is fucked IF the Bengals leave, period.   The half cent sales tax increase would not expire AND neither would the debt service.

Somehow the Jags stadium built before PBS/Paycor and also received two major renovations prior to the recent $1.4 B project and that's 3 times more than Paycor projections.

The Bengals could be dicks and put themselves out as Free Agents to get the biggest stadium possible and would probably come close to getting it.   Their proposal put forward is quite reasonable don't fall for the County propaganda.   The time to move on from the Bengals was 1995.   County could have hedged their bets and tried to get UC or FC in PBS vs. investing in their own.  

Didn't happen.   Sure anyone on the sidelines can make overtures about what is fair and what isn't.   Hamilton county knows Bengals on the riverfront draws a ton of tax dollars to the county.  Every other county in the country knows it too.

Just save all the political BS and get it done because anyone with common sense knows the Bengals aren't losing this battle.

My hatred of Mike Brown has dwindled over the last 5 years. Not because he’s done so many great things, but rather he’s fucking old. I find it hard to get upset with people that are lucky to remember their name.

Same.  I love having a little fun at his expense, but at the same time there’s just an odd feeling I have.  Kind of a combination of pity, empathy, and I’m also a little dumbfounded.  Mike is a bit of a marvel to be getting around as well as he does.  If you know many 88 year old men you know what I mean.

I was fortunate to have all of my grandparents live into their 90’s. We’ve been care givers to my mother in law for 18 years and due to Alzheimer’s is now in a home at 85.

It’s both hilarious and sad at the same time. I can’t find a way to bring anger into that scenario. That’s where the soft spot for the elderly comes from.

Yeah, my MIL is in her late 80s and last year the family got together and basically moved her at gunpoint from NC up by us in northwest Indiana. Now she has a nice apartment in a senior community and we can get her to doctors and the grocery store without a two day drive first. She is still sharp mentally but it’s getting increasingly hard for her to get around.

True.  But imagine Chase and his situation.  They are costing him very real money by making him play out his deal.  Almost every other team would pay him this year.  They absolutely can do it.  But there is a risk of alienating your player, and be aware your younger players are watching this.  
 

“We’re the bengals and this is how we do things,” can be followed by “I’m Jamarr Chase and this is how I do things (fakes a hamstring injury through his franchise tag year then signs with someone else).”

Not true. For example, Jefferson’s deal came after his 4th year. That’s pretty standard. Chase is going into year 4 this season. The argument for signing him is that it won’t get any cheaper, but like I said before the Bengals don’t really care about that since it’s not their money. I agree they should do a deal but not doing one wouldn’t be unusual.

I stand corrected.  I was under the impression guys at Chase’s level got extended before they played that 4th year on their rookie deal.  
 

I went looking - from Chase’s ‘21 draft class a grand total of one player has had his deal extended, Rashod Bateman from Baltimore.  
 

And there are very good to great level players in that class.  Devontae Davis, Penei Sewell, Chase, Trevor Larence, Micah Parsons, and Jaylen Waddle.  all those guys are playing their 4th year on their price controlled rookie deal.

With at least four investor groups able to invest in up to six teams each, that works out to $500 million of added capital on average for each team that receives an investment.

As the NFL opens its doors to new capital, the money will also free up funding for new stadiums and related projects.

The Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans are both currently in the process of building a new stadium, while the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders are actively pursuing new stadiums in the future.
