  1. You want a trade, Jonah Williams? Do you have the name of an NFL team that wants to give any value for one of the worst starting left tackles in the league last year, who is coming off knee surgery, who is prohibitively expensive, who will only be contractually bound for one year? What a bargain. Hey NFL team GMs, come quick. We’re willing to trade Jonah Williams, please ignore the fact that his poor play cost us both a Super Bowl and an AFC championship game, and also please ignore the fact that our top priority this offseason was upgrading from him.
  2. Value only, that’s about what we expected. When they let guys walk for the affordable deals offered elsewhere, the only conclusion is we’re going to sign a lesser, cheaper, option. It’s going to put pressure on the coaches, hopefully they can coach these new guys up and scheme to dampen the effects of any deficiencies they might have. They had to get better on the o-line and they did.
  3. If it isn’t signed yet, yes I assume we’re getting played.
  4. That’s the funny thing about these depth signings - if you make a deep playoff run these guys end up playing in those games. 20 or so NFL games tend to put some of your starters on the injured list.
  5. Hopefully they’re talking to Devin Singletary from the Bills. I think he’s still available.
  6. Yea it is really difficult to predict tackle success. Brown is like a mid level success, and he was a 4th rounder. Meanwhile if you could get his level of success out of a first rounder you’d take it any day. One thing of note - I saw a stat that said Brown had like the 18th grade last year in the league on pass blocking. And the salary the bengals gave him ranks him like about 18th, right in there. Which is a huge win.
  7. Guard Cody Ford at the facility. Still looking to sign OL.
  8. The chiefs gave up a 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th for Orlando Brown? And now he walks and they get nothing? That is astounding. That GM has some explaining to do.
  9. They truly are an organization transformed. No one in the league has adapted/changed like the Bengals. No one is even close.
  10. How’d the island of misfit prove-it deals do in this Orlando Brown contract? Well, a few days ago the Athletic rated Brown as the 4th best available free agent, and meandered about regarding what his new deal would look like. Behold! “The expectation is Brown will want an extension with more guaranteed money than the offer he declined last summer: six years, $139 million, $30.25 million signing bonus, and $91 million in the first five years.”
  11. He’s not asleep. He’s writing a 10 page Unabomber manifesto on why Joe Mixon MUST not be cut before we draft some kid in the fifth round from Texas Tech.
  12. TJ, look on the bright side, we got a lot better on the left side. That’ll make addressing the right side all the easier.
  13. TWet JBlanket.
  14. Ok left tackle. Outstanding. Good luck Jonah Williams, I hope your knee heals up and you have a great rest of your career, whether it is here or elsewhere. Played last season hobbled, let’s not forget that.
  15. Will he play right tackle?
  16. Absolutely brilliant. Fills the biggest need on our team, and creates a gaping hole on the roster of our chief AFC rival.
  17. I wonder why Eli Apple didn’t go get a multi year deal from some other team. JK, I know why.
  18. Depression sets in.
  19. Tobin going all in on turning Cincy into the land of the prove-it deal. Putting Burrow on a hook, tossing him behind the USS Value Only and trolling the murky waters of mid level free agency.
  20. Hurst gone? We are going to be the youngest team in the nfl.
  21. Starting to hit the panic button up here in central ohio.
  22. Perine - 7.5 million over two years, with up to 1 million in incentives. Pretty affordable. Letting him walk for that? No chance in hell they keep Mixon at his 10.5 or whatever it is.
  23. What the fuck? Perine out the door. They better have a plan, he was clearly the better back for this offense. I did not see that coming.
  24. I bet. At vet minimum.
  25. The salary projections for CJ Garner-Johnson are kind of a mystery to me. He had a good year last year on a great team. But his seasons before last year were with the Saints, and he wasn’t great, was he? They traded him after two unremarkable seasons to the Eagles. CJGJ and a 7th round pick to the Eagles for a 5th and a low 6th round pick. I don’t know what he was doing in New Orleans, other than just being there. Would absolutely not over pay for this dude.
