Buffalo is deep into Allen’s contract. They need guys on first contracts.
-
Diggs out of Buffalo, headed to the Texans. We should really appreciate Chase, Higgins, Boyd, etc. Diggs is and will continue to be a monumental pain in the ass. Our guys are football and team first guys. Some of these dudes are locker room poison. Now that the Bills don’t have to market him to other teams, I’m sure we’ll hear about his tantrums, demands, work ethic, etc.

Didn’t see that coming!

I hope they put a cool logo in the middle - NOT the B.
-
Are they putting in grass or artificial turf?

First in depth explanation I’ve read of why the rule was changed, and how it will decrease high velocity impact hits, was right in here written by you guys. Makes sense. And it’s good to see the league has a few people in its employ whose brains are only, say, 65% clogged up with CTE. They used that remaining 35% to figure out a solution to an obvious problem.

Kick off rule - the nfl put the last couple years’ rule in place because their research showed kickoffs and punts produced a lot of high velocity impact plays, which equaled head trauma. They were all about trying to reduce concussions. This most recent rule modification will result in more returns and fewer touchbacks, the direct opposite of their stated goal regarding the previous iteration of the rule. Something has changed.

Nice. The Browns can travel a gazillion miles just to get worked by the Eagles. I like it, we need any edge we can get when it comes to those guys.

I hip drop tackle people just for fun. (Older people. Elderly people, really.)
-
Greatest hip drop tackle of all time - you decide. 1. Burfict brutally hip drops Le’Veon Bell and tears his MCL, same game in which he also knocked Antonio Briwn out of the game, and sent Roethlisberger to the sidelines (admittedly Ben only missed a few plays, dude was indestructible even for Burfict).

Odd fact - remember that player who was getting a pre game IV and the tech doing it made mistakes and the guy got air in his bloodstream? Dude ended up in the hospital. The league was like, “it’s all good,” the player literally said, “I almost died.” That was this dude, Trent Brown. If I recall correctly, the team doctor did it. And a bunch of medical professionals said the doctor should not have been doing it. They should use nurses or blood techs for this work. I recall one commentator saying this doctor probably hadn’t done this type of IV work since medical school. Please never change, NFL!

Doesn’t it though? The effect those price controlled rookie contracts had on trades is really strange. Say you’ve got the 15th pick. Are you confident you’ll get a player as good as Sneed? Very unlikely. So it’s a no brainer, give it up for Sneed. But teams won’t. They work that 4 year price controlled deal into their whole salary cap plan and won’t blow it up.

All this “trade” talk is being generated by Tee’s agent. It wouldn’t be make the decision for me, but if a draft candidate is represented by this dude that would be a factor in my evaluation. Not a positive factor.

Regarding new Browns wideout Jerry Jeudy. This is a summation of his ‘23 season, it’s from his wiki: “Jeudy finished the season with 758 yards and 2 touchdowns in 16 games played. His 62.1% catch rate was the lowest since his rookie year. [49] His catch rate was just 143rd among qualified receivers. [50]” The brain trust up in the Mistake just gave this dude sixty million bucks, 40 of it guaranteed. I’m looking forward to watching him drop passes for the next three years. Also, his agent deserves an award.

Insane. They’ve lost their marbles.

The Steelers’ apparent infatuation with Wilson is baffling. I’d love it if they signed Russ long term and dumped Fields. The broncos and Peyton just took on 85 million in dead money against the cap to get rid of Russel Wilson. His teammates in Seattle pretty much hated him. It kind of feels like Tomlin has entered his Marvin Lewis era - so tired of coaching that he only wants vets (who don’t need much coaching), and young player development suffers greatly as a result.
-
Agreed. He’s got a lot of miles on him, then signs of decline (specifically very untimely drops) showed up. Could he end up back with us on a team friendly deal?
-
Also, the Steelers got Patrick Queen. It’s sickening.
-
He’s good, unfortunately. He’s really big, physical, can and does run the ball. He’s hard to get on the ground. It’s just bad that he’s ending up in Pittsburgh.
-
Supposedly Justin Fields to the Steelers. This is not good.

Best of luck to Joe going forward. He was really good here.
