HoosierCat Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Thread by request lol. Good news everybody! Yesterday’s debacle moved the Bengals up 5 spots to the 11th overall pick in the 2027 draft. https://www.tankathon.com/nfl Sadly the Bengals have shown that they can beat no-win teams, and here comes the third one in five games. But I have faith that they can screw this one up too! Quote
volcom69 Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Need to see the injury report on this game. Go back to the drawing board this week with this offense, find ways to help Burrow out, make it easy out there for the guy. Everything seems to hard right now, sure they move the ball and move it pretty good, but it just looks so hard to do. It’s usually about this time Zac and Joe figure shit out, so might as well start now. They have started 2-2 before, it’s not like they are terrible, just go back to the drawing board. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 So some of the things I began to discuss before my thread topic took a crap: The Dolphins suck. I mean really suck. Their QB has 1 passing TD so far. They suck at 3rd down conversions and are worse on 4th downs. Their best RB is out for the season (Achane) and as you can guess, the WR's have also only caught 1 TD to this point. Their defense has given up over 100 points through 4 games. Totally a game the Bengals should win, but much will be dependent on injuries this week and getting players back. The WR corps is decimated. If Tee and Chase can't go, with Iosivas on IR and Young out with a knee injury, we have: Meyers, Tinsley and practice squad guys Williams, Moore and Thomas. That's great in the preseason, not so much today. People use to say that Brady and Manning made guys better. Here would be Burrow's opportunity to do so. The there is the defense. Do they forget the opposing team has this guy called a tight end? You wouldn't know it when looking at the stats, so hopefully they get that figured out. Then there is Cook being out. That was a game time decision so hopefully sooner rather than later. How the coaches still have faith in Battle is beyond me. Good luck Bengals... Quote
volcom69 Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Bengals need to bench Battle ASAP! Cook and Dugger or even PJ and Cook is better. Some reason Battle is Goldens long lost lover though! Despite the two turnovers, which one Burrows arm was hit, the other Tinsley stopped moving, I think Burrow did pretty darn good with nobody at WR. Well I guess he had Tee, but still was finding other guys. Think maybe it’s time to scrape the whole play action pass shit, it’s not working very well and especially when you can’t run the ball. Time for something new Zac! Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 5 Author Report Posted October 5 There’s been some twitter rumors that the Bengals are trying to cut a deal with Atlanta for Bates. 99.9% chance it’s just bs, but if it were to happen I might not stop laughing until Christmas. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Seeing him come back would be absolutely hilarious. Another problem is he's a free agent after this year. It would be inviting the same drama as when he left last time. Not like they would extend him when super man Battle is on the roster for peanuts. Then again, Battle is a free agent after this year as well. Thank God !! 1 Quote
COB Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 Trap game. Our guys probably breathing a sigh of relief. These coaches need to turn up the heat and make everyone uncomfortable, get them breathing fire by Sunday. Wait, I forgot we have the HC version of let’s have fun and play together. Quote

It's remarkable that Zac and Andy got on so poorly in 2019. They ought to have spent days off in the sandbox building castles together. 3 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 "Andy drops back, he has AJ Green open over the middle and, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH, he over threw him" I really like Andy as a person, but that dude killed me on the field. Sand castles? Priceless !! Quote
Stripes Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 I remember watching the playoff game after the 2013 season. The 11-5 Bengals were 8-0 at home and hosting the 9-7 Chargers in the Wild Card round. At that point, the Andy/Marvin connection hadn't completely solidified itself as the worst playoff tandem in NFL history yet, so we had some measure of hope. The moment Dalton made his first overthrow, I knew it was over. I sat in a chat space with other NFL fans I knew well in that era, and I sarcastically celebrated when Andy missed a wide-open AJ Green for a touchdown by only about three yards instead of ten. He really tried hard. Good try, Andy Dalton. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 6 Author Report Posted October 6 I remember watching Forest Gregg bench Kenny in the 1981 season opener because he was playing like shit, and backup Turk Schonert going on to lead the comeback from the 21-0 hole Anderson dug. Someone needs to cue that game up for Zac. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 Sounds like there is no chance in them benching Battle. Someone tell me why they have such a love affair with this guy. He has a worse missed tackle percentage than Geno Stone! Why do this coaching staff alwsys have issues with benching players that are not pulling there weight! Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 6 Author Report Posted October 6 They aren’t benching battle because they don’t have a better alternative. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 7 Report Posted October 7 Ok Al Golden is a tool and I really wish he was not coaching for this team! Coddling Battle like he is his love child is getting sickening. We all saw the play buddy Battle flat out sucks we are not stupid! Taking Knight out for a series for Oren Burks so Knight does not get tired, wow interesting thanks AL! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 7 Report Posted October 7 Well anytime you take either Carter or Knight out you aren’t left with much. The linebacker depth on this team has been pathetic for the last 15 years. They just don’t care about it Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 7 Author Report Posted October 7 Ja’marr, Tee, Cook, Duggar all DNP today. y’know, when the sked came out I was pretty bummed about the early week 6 bye. Now it can’t get here fast enough. Quote
Coltsguy451 Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 I saw about the Chase injury but what happened to Tee? Quote

Coltsguy451 Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 So the two Ferraris of the offense might be in the shop this week... Still think they'll put up more points than the Vikes did Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 Taking a closer look at this game (please tell me you did this Bengals). It appears the Dolphins offense is just pathetic. Not being able to move the ball or score equals being 0-4. With that being the case, I am hoping our defense continues to make things very challenging for the Miami offense. Malik Willis would not be considering one of the best 32 QB's in the league, so get after him defense. The Miami defense is the better side of the football, but they have given up 25 points per game. They give up more yards through the air than on the ground but when your offense can't score, it doesn't really matter. I'm sure the Bengals are concerned with the possibility of not having Tee and Ja'Marr, but if there was a game you would hope to have hit your schedule in that situation, it's this one. I'd rather have them back than not, but if there is ANY concern, I would sit them and hope the extra time Joe has gotten with the backups is enough. I'm of the line of thought that it will be. Use this game as a way to try to stay under center more and continue to work on the running game. I'm not saying abandon the passing attack, but focus on figuring out your plan for running the ball and work on executing. If things are close in the second half, then let Burrow pass 50 times or some shit. Regardless of injuries, I still think they come away with the win. Bengals- 17 Dolphins- 10 Quote

HoosierCat Posted October 8 Author Report Posted October 8 He and Cook went limited. Higgins and Duggar still DNP. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 8 Report Posted October 8 Battle is the most idiotic player I have ever seen play for the Bengals, thats it I have nothing else to say! Quote
