Looks like a BPA draft in the 1st.

I don't know how you can pass up Sylvester if he falls to 21 (not likely?) after you watch this:

Here's how I can pass on him at 21: I watch clips of Devon Still from 2011

There's also this...

I'm happy to see alot of guys getting on the Cyprien train, I'm telling you this guy will be a great safety for years for this team! Move back get some more picks, and draft him!

so then I'd go watch yet another clip of Devon Still from 2011

I should've been more clear. Williams got handled in that game. That's pretty much just a clip of him getting pushed around for 10 minutes.

Just as well if you skipped it. Still and Thompson are both better.

I'll gladly hop on the Cyprien train if they draft him. I just don't think they will.

I heard Mike Brown paid the extra dime for the upgrade from a small to a medium soda at Chik-Fil-A the other day

Good thing he lives in Ohio, if he were in New York, they wouldn't hear of a medium soda.

Or did that stupidity get voted down ??

Anway, my point is, teams have to be aware of the potential savings for a player taken in the first round as opposed to anything afterward.

Is it the "be all, end all" ?? No, but it's a consideration for sure when thinking about trades.

Odds and ends from the last few days of the draft rumor mill over at walterfootball.com:

Sources told WalterFootball.com that the Cincinnati Bengals are "all in" on Alabama running back Eddie Lacy. It makes sense because the Bengals badly need a feature running back and Lacy is a good scheme fit. He could be an option in the first round or early in the second round.

Team sources have told WalterFootball.com that in their opinion, North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard is the best running back in the draft. Bernard isn't expected to be the first back selected, but he should still go on the second day. Scouts say he could go late in the second or fall into the third round. They say that Bernard is going to be a steal and liken him to Brian Westbrook or LeSean McCoy as a speedy back with the ability to serve as a dangerous receiver. Bernard also is said to have underrated toughness and physicality. He could be the next in line of second day backs that prove to be steals.

The Rams are interested in drafting Texas safety Kenny Vacarro in the first round, but he is unlikely to make it to their first selection at No. 16. Safety is a huge need for the Rams after losing both of their starters from last year. If St. Louis does look for a safety in the first round with Vaccaro off the board, sources indicate that LSU's Eric Reid is the most likely target. The Rams are said to not be very big fans of Florida International's Jonathan Cyprien, the consensus second-rated safety in the draft.

Reid is an interesting player who is evoking a lot of love-hate responses. Scouts told WalterFootball.com that there are divides in their teams with some liking Reid a lot and others having no use for him. The ones that like him consider him to be a safe pick because he is big, smart, fast and clean off the field. The ones that don't like him see him as stiff, and that was why he was constantly burned in pass coverage in 2012.

It'd seem quite unlike the Bengals for their most sincere draft intentions to be voiced so loudly, so I smell smoke.

Not true, he talked the girl behind the counter into accepting an expired Sizzler coupon and got the whole drink free. Then he made off with like 14 sugar packets from the condiments counter, so, WINNING.

12 Ways Mike Brown describes the process of drafting players:

1. "It's like dragging the infield with a tractor. A big tractor."

2. "Drafting is like being the owner of a zoo, and you get to pick the biggest, best, zoo animals for your zoo."

3. "Cogs."

4. "Pumpkin takes her field hockey stick, and she spins it around! Then I tell her, 'Pumpkin, you can really spin that stick! Atta girl!' Then the short fellow with that unusual physique chooses someone. Anyone seen that short fellow?"

5. "It's a process best undertaken with a large collection of Tony Robbins DVDs and some bodybuilding magazines. A couple times we've actually just called Tony Robbins and let him make the pick. That's how we ended up with Adam Kieft."

6. "Troy is like a son to me. He really is."

7. "Back to the zoo thing, it turns out all your zoo animals have agents, so you better get that angle figured out in advance."

8. "Ever hear of Greg Cook? By God, he could throw a ball over...(voice trails off, blankly stares into space).

9. "They've got magazines for this stuff. We also make them run races and such, then just pick the winner of the race."

10. "Have your brother's grandson visit them at school. Then he can tell you who's a good football player and who's not. That's how we do it."

11. "Pumpkin went to Dartmouth, so we try to get a kid from there once in a while. It's not easy."

12. "Pumpkin majored in math at Dartmouth. She worked out an algorithm that takes into account vertical leap, body fat, how loud they grunt, Wonderlich score to the third power, the results of the bone scan we do on 'em, their hundred time, their score in a rapping contest we make them compete in, and a bunch of other stuff we can't even talk about. That's how we ended up with Adam Kieft."

13. "Who does that Hoosier guy hate? Let's pick him. He'll flip out and then that membengal guy will make fun of him and that will be a blast to watch." :)

That may explain the Sean Brewer pick back in the day. As good an explanation as any.

I saw the Kiper Lacy prediction...please no...a RB taken that high behind a shoddy o-line with a cast-off C is just stupid. There are no Rb's worthy of a 1st round pick in this draft.

I also don't know why they would bother to sign Scott and Peerman if they had such an intention, makes little sense really.

Cmon, Williams grades MUCH higher than Still ever did (thus why I posted the Sports Science video). He may make that d-line unstoppable next to Atkins, and a nice long term replacement for Peko, who is decidedly average at this point. Again I'm just looking at BPA, nothing more.

They need a running back, i agree not in the first, but they better get one with the second round pick. Either Lacy in the second or Gio Bernard in the second i would love it!
