“Heh, my mechanical cyberkinetic exoskeleton will arrive here any day now. I’ll be up and around in no time! /Cackles insanely, drives Rascal Freedom Power Wheelchair ($1,498.20 at Sam’s Club) down PBS hallway to Zac Taylor’s office/ “Zac’s not here, probably at practice. He’s like the son I never had! We’ll toss the old pigskin around once my exoskeleton gets here. I’d already have it except I bought the rebuilt version and saved over thirty percent! My exoskeleton had to be totally redone, it was worn by a drywall hanger in Xinjian Province. He set the Chinese drywalling record, he drywalled a complete 14 story building in two days, but when his twelfth battery ran down the suit went in reverse and he fell down the elevator shaft! Killed him but the suit can be reconditioned! I’ll leave a note for Zac, ask if he needs any drywall hung at his house, I’ll be the guy for that!” /tries to reach paper and pen on Zac’s desk, leans too far out of Rascal Freedom Power Wheelchair ($1,498.20 at Sam’s Club), gets wobbly but saves it. Forgets why he’s in Taylor’s office, falls asleep/

Wild Card Weekend: Ravens @ Bengals 2 Electric Boogaloo

This also kind of shows they are not signing Lamar, at least not at what he’s thinking. Best guess imho is they tag him. I also think they have already begun their qb search. If he won’t play under the tag next year? Baker!! -

Smith is a hell of a player. Tough dealing with him last week, he’ll be difficult again. -
Coaches matter. Our situation illustrates that. Hey, Marvin is looking for a new job! Harbaugh is in the mix, looks like Denver could be a landing spot. Why he’d want to jump into that division with Mahomes and Herbert there and in their primes, I have no idea. Our coach’s mentor, Sean McVay, may be moving on because the Rams announced they would no longer be making Rams gear in child’s medium sizes.

Man, what a missed opportunity by the Buckeyes. That Ga game was in our hands, and we would have handled TCU no problem. Would have snuck into a natty. Painful to think about how they blew that game.

Pratt has a serious nose for the ball. He’s one of those rare guys, balls out, he suddenly is in the vicinity. -

Lamar hasn’t been practicing, hadn’t been throwing with the receivers. If he jumps into practice this week, that’ll help some, but timing and rust will be a factor. Still he’s their best option. -

Random fact from rummaging around our o-line pickups (sadly we’re missing two of them, Kappa and La’el Collins are out). For you old-timers, our other pickup, Ted Karras, has a well known great uncle. I’ve kept you in suspense long enough. His great uncle is longtime Detroit Lion Alex Karras. -

And that year was accomplished with that statistical outlier game in week one against the Steelers. He threw 4 picks and lost one fumble in that game. So in a 17 game season, in one game he threw a third of his season’s total interceptions and had half his fumbles for turnover. -

“The window is my whole career… The window is always open.” I say this with all seriousness; psychologists could study this dude as having one of the greatest examples of the unwavering confidence needed to be the best at something. It’s pretty remarkable. I can’t really recall a QB who had it to this level, and was willing to vocalize it. Maybe Joe Namath? -

Odd stat - Brady played all 4 AFC North teams this year and lost to them all. Heh. -
A lot of cheap stuff from the ravens. I assume the officials next week will be waiting for that and we’ll benefit from a personal foul in the first half.
-
Trent Green and Kevin Harlan calling the game on cbs. Not exactly the A team but I get it.
-
Supposedly Lamar is coming back next week for the playoffs. We’ll beat them today, then embarrass them next week. My feeling is Lamar is gone. He wants top 5 money and the Ravens are over it. Too many injuries. He’d be great at a mid level price.

If you’re watching the titans jags game, titans qb just gave up a fumble, same type of thing as the Mac Jones “incomplete pass” against us a couple weeks ago. This jags qb was way more of a pass than Jones’ and they called this one a fumble.

Go trash talk ‘em! Unrelated story about trash talk - my son’s junior year of basketball was winter 20/21. Pretty much Covid lockdown year, masks in school all day. No one allowed at the basketball games except parents of players and cheerleaders. First home game and it’s like a tomb in that gym. You could literally hear the players breathing. Game heats up and the shit talking starts. Normally the noise in the gym covers it all, but now it’s so quiet the moms are treated to their sons saying (and these are the ones I remember) “you fucking faggot,” “weak ass shit outa here,” “same as your brother,” several “motherfucker”s, several “you suck,” and the word “fuck” just being constantly thrown out as an all purpose expletive. It kind of overshadowed the game itself. The refs and the coaches didn’t seem surprised or bothered. I talked to my son, told him all the mom’s didn’t need to hear him run through his whole vocabulary. Other parents must have as well. The rest of the season was better, with the exception of one kid.

If KC loses to the raiders, we won’t need a neutral field to beat them. Nothing would shock me more right now than the raiders beating KC.
-
If we can’t beat the Ravens we seriously don’t deserve a home playoff game. They’re without Lamar, and his backup can’t throw worth shit. I’m not joking and it’s not hyperbole to say he has one of the worst arms on a starting quarterback I’ve ever seen. Beat the Ravens then see where the chips fall. We got fucked over for sure but it could be a lot worse.

I didn’t need good news back in 1974, guess I just had that dog in me.

Lakewood, Utica, and Northridge.
-
Granville. And I recall you went to either Watkins or LH, I can’t recall for certain which.
-
You mean they won’t be ready because of seeing Damar get CPR and shocked? Listen up, the year is 1974, I’m on the bus going to our 7th grade basketball game against Licking Valley. Ron Mathias, our starting center, (dude went through puberty in like 4th grade), barfs all over the place, mostly the aisle, really. The smell, the noise, all a complete shit show. Like a champion I am unaffected, went and balled out (4 points and fouled out in the 3rd quarter), we won by 8 points. If required, I will tell that story of epic mental toughness to the Bengals in person.

Jay Morrison is like a detective.

That field at Paycor is racking up some injuries. Tua got a brain injury there this year, I think I recall him getting carted off. Ryan Shazier received a pretty serious injury to his spine there, glad he recovered enough to walk. Now this youngster has a heart event that almost ended his life. Maybe every nfl field has this macabre history, I don’t pay attention to the other fields enough to know.

Ok so we’re on to the Ravens.
