And then there's Deandre Hopkins Super Bowl hunting and saying how he would love to play with Joe Burrow.
Look, I don't blame any player for wanting to play with Burrow, especially a wide receiver.
I also happen to love Hopkins from his time with the Texans and wouldn't mind adding him to the mix.
The Ravens paid him $5 million last year.  There's room.

I won't be upset if it doesn't happen though.

Today’s lunch report. Consumed:

One (1) Beef ‘n Cheddar

Three (3) potato cakes

One (1) diet Coke

Approximately five hundred twenty seven (~527) articles on Joe Burrow’s Kentucky Derby outfit.

I honestly think I could eat infinite potato cakes.

Great Derby, by the way.  Really enjoyed it.  The Burrow pink suit came down the backstretch in last and stayed in last.

I think most of it is that I'm just older and don't care, but I don't get fashion.
Apparently in 2026 fashion equals looking like a complete clown show.
Seriously, shit just looks stupid.

I don't know.  I'm a comfort kind of guy and always have been.
If it's comfortable and looks decent enough, I'm about it.
If anyone else thinks it looks decent enough is not a concern I am shackled with.
Being free is not caring what other people think.

My son's girlfriend told me that men that wear sweatpants have given up.
I said yes, given up on worrying about what people think about my sweatpants.
By the way, they are Under Armour joggers and I love them.

I can’t wear sweats.  But I’ve found myself falling into a pattern.  If I buy a pair of pants I like that actually fit, I buy another.  End result - right now I have two pairs of pants, but 2 or 3 editions of each.  So every day it’s the grey canvas pants I got online, or the tan canvas pants I got at a store called Vance’s.  And hooded sweatshirts are a gift from god.

For work it’s Under Armour golf pants and a polo typically. Like COB, I have about 6 different colors of the same pants and about 10 colors of the same polo.

Now I will admit to having a bit of a shoe thing going on. Hoodies use to be my go to and now it’s fleece 1/4 zips. Yeah, about 10 different colors of the same on there too.

Seems like just as good conversation as anything else this time of the year.

Yeah, Amazon has cheap own-brand chinos for like $20 a pop, so I have about 6 pairs in different colors and 6-8 polos from Penny’s because they are one of the few places I can find tall sizes.

I need talls as well, and Eddie Bauer used to make about everything in talls.  But they changed owners and the new guys don’t know how to do anything so they’re tanking.  JC Penny, here I come!

You want to know how I know I'll never grow up?

Whenever I read a story about the Colts offense and their coordinator "Jim Bob Cooter", I can't help but laugh.
What a great name.

Important update, I wore a flannel shirt to the dentist this morning.  It’s a shirt I usually only wear in the winter, but it was chilly up here in central Ohio so decided to get a little crazy.

Hopefully they don’t have the same stupid shit they did with Shemar last year. Just get the shit done and get the guys in camp. That was beyond frustrating last year.

The lack of talent and depth at LB concerns me more and more all the time.

It seems apparent that they are content with Carter and Knight at LB (i like the potential) but thats only 2 LB's. Granted, they run more 2 LB nickel sets nowadays, but what about when you run 3 LB? One injury, or a 2nd year drop off to either Carter or Knight means you have one of them and Oren Burks or Shaka Hayward.

That's a huge hole in your Defense.

I dont care if Bobby Wagner is 60 years old and cant cover a TE, neither can any of the Bengals other LB's...but Wagner can still wrap up and tackle. AND a veteran with his knowledge and awareness can help get the youngsters lined up in the right spots presnap.

You dont even need to restructure Burrow for this (save that for next years improvements or to retain our CB's) just cut TJ Slaton and give Wagner his $6m

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Bengals on Friday acquired linebacker Swayze Bozeman on waivers from the N.Y. Giants and signed college free agent safety Isaiah Nwokobia.

Bozeman (6-2, 225), a second-year player out of the University of Southern Mississippi, originally was a college free agent signee of Kansas City in 2024. He has played in nine career games for the Chiefs (2024) and Giants (’25), totaling five defensive tackles along with four special teams stops.

At least they brought in a depth guy who has a couple years in the league, has been through a season.  It is startling, the way the bengals drafted two linebackers and just stubbornly started them as rookies.  Two rookies, side by side, starting a whole nfl season.  As the kids would say, make it make sense.
