COB Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Holy crap, I almost can’t believe this. Just beating the Steelers is amazing, but under these circumstances? It’s on another level. Quote

Stripes Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 If Flacco plays halfway like this, they can win the division. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 17, 2025 Author Report Posted October 17, 2025 I love that Flacco looks like grandpa every time he takes a snap. Looks like he take 5 minutes to take two steps back and is like, uh, where’s Jamarr, ok ther I’ll throw the ball, where’s my protein shake, someone put on wheel of fortune. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Never would I thought I would hear fans chanting Flacco, what a crazy time Quote
volcom69 Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Zac Taylor, what a game you called, and where was that all year, well better late then never do this the rest of the year now!!! Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 17, 2025 Author Report Posted October 17, 2025 Oh, one last thing, and this will be the only time you ever hear me say this: Mike Tomlin was right. Sucks to be him. (Browns fans, enjoy this one.) 1 1 Quote
Stripes Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 As much as Browns fans hate us. And as much as we hate them. I think we both hate Pittsburgh more. Neener neener 1 1 Quote
Stripes Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Since we can’t be too positive, however: 0-6 Jets screams trap game Quote

COB Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Flacco got himself benched in Cleveland. I’d love to hear his true thoughts on the comparison between throwing to Jerry Jeudy and Isiah Bond up there vs our Chase and Higgins. Quote

AMPHAR Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Bengals weren't prepared to start the game. A lot of mental errors. Pitiful defensive effort. Going under center a little bit, QB throwing the ball away, AND running game can make the O-line look a whole lot better. Flacco didn't get benched in Cleveland. Its the constant cycle they've been in since the return. I think I said that opening week. Fans think Cleveland is an easy win. Not with a competent QB. The dumpster fire doesn't happen until they undermine the team with QB drama. Thank God those idiots got rid of Baker. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 So the defense is still such a liability, I have never seen a team so bad at tackling. There are a few bright spots though, Turner looks awesome, Dax Hill is playing good also. They need to figure out these rookie LB especially Knight, that guy can’t tackle at all and it sucks! Geno Stone can’t tackle at at he just throws his body at them hoping they fall over. Not looking like there is a quick fix to this and that sucks, but if they just sure up there tackling they could have made some stops my gosh. Oh and figure out a way to get to the QB please! Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Tackling was bad. However, 3rd down and long defense and maybe one 2nd and 20 were just flat out mental/pitiful efforts that made the game close. Make those plays the tackling that was bad probably good enough to give them an average effort. Just a bad performance. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 17, 2025 Author Report Posted October 17, 2025 Battle’s and that spectacular Turner TOs basically saved the d. Just barely enough to edge things out. (Also shout out to Ivy for the Hail Mary knockdown.) D was horrible overall but made just enough big plays to survive. Can’t count on that tho, must play better. Quote
Stripes Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Also, forgive my hyperbole, but I think this is just the truth: Ja'Marr Chase is one of the most talented wide receivers in NFL history. 1 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 17, 2025 Author Report Posted October 17, 2025 Welcome to Victory Friday, folks! And just think, Pittsburgh’s weekend is *already* ruined! Quote

Agreed. He’s so physical after the catch, he’s fast, he blocks, and he’s pretty much no drama. I can’t think of a receiver in his prime I’d want to trade him for. Megatron is the only one even in the conversation, I think. Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 Just nice to beat a beatable Steelers team at home for once. From 2022- til now all those Steeler teams were mid and the Bengals just laying an egg in various ways at home to lose. Now if they can get them on the road that'd be something. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 I feel Ryan Clark. I hate the Cleveland Browns too. LMAO !! That being said, I watched the entire game last night and boy was that a fun game to take in. Loving the fact they beat the Steelers. That just makes for a great start to any weekend. Yeah the defense. Not the best effort by any stretch, but they managed TO's when it mattered. Cannot be forgotten they had no Trey and a bunch of young guys with little experience as well. Does Golden need to get on them about tackling? Yes, but I will just hold out hope they get better. Flacco was so much fun to watch the whole game. Quick passes. Quick decision making. Even running. That designed run play for him was one of the greatest things ever. NO ONE saw that coming. You could feel the energy of the stadium through the TV with the reaction to that play. I think Stripes said it, but I must reiterate... Ja'Marr Chase is the truth. Just an insane game by him. Tee with not only a great catch late, but knew to get down to run the clock. How great was that? The o-line, while still worrisome, was opening holes and giving Flacco enough time to get the ball out. Not only that, freaking Chase Brown goes off for 108 yards. Perrine had clutch moments last night as well. Saw a stat that since Burrow was drafted in 2020, this was only the 10th time a RB had 100 yards in a game. If accurate, that's a damn shame, but I will take what we got last night. If nothing else, that was a lot of fun !! Way to go Bengals !! Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 I think some of the tackling can be blamed on Zac. I think Aikman said last year Bengals don't give reps to the run offense which in turns hurts your run defense. I think Golden's soft coverage puts guys in tough pursuit spots as well and his pursuit is bad. Its a very soft unimpressive scheme at many times. I mean if you are going to give cushion, then you have to have guys rally and swarm because the completion is going to happen 99% of the time with a 5 yard cushion. Too many guys taking bad angles arriving in bad position to begin with. Not physical. Several other problems too but those are the main ones. Get the pads on them and get them running pursuit drills. Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 17, 2025 Report Posted October 17, 2025 This is just pitiful on Golden's part: Steeler 4 TD drives: 1. 3 and 11 - First Down! leading to: 1. 3 and 6 - TD in the Redzone 2. 3 and 18 - TD in the Redzone 3. 3 and 4 - First in the Redzone, eventual TD 4. 2 and 20 - TD. All these were QB finding coverage breakdowns or all day to throw. That is a bad defense coaching clinic. If you got talent to get them that many challenging conversions you got talent to get at least 2 stops. Pick any 2 from above. Get 2 and all of sudden a pitiful defense effort becomes just bad even with poor tackling. 1 Quote
