COB
Pete Carroll out as the coach in Seattle. That was not a name I expected, but I understand it.

Yeah, him and Vrabel were both surprises, at least to me.
COB
To me as well. I’d take Vrabel at ohio state, seems college coachish. Come to think of it, Pete Carroll would be good at Ohio State as well. 1

Not until next year though…
COB
Since it’s the off season I’m hammering down fig newtons like a champion.

COB
The drama continues in New England. At least two stories a day written about it. Supposedly today is the day. We’ll all be watching to see white smoke come out of the chimney at Miss Wong’s House of Lightly Trafficked Handjob Queens, that’s the traditional sign that NE has selected a new coach. COB
This really is a season of remarkable turnover. Not so much in the volume, but in the old guard being replaced. Pete Carroll, Belichick, and Saban, all unseated within a few days time.
HoosierCat
That Belichick would be moving on seemed pretty inevitable as last season went on. So that didn't surprise me, but yeah it's still massive. 24 years. Quite a run.
AMPHAR
Belichick not shy about mentioning Paul Brown as his big influence. He might be the greatest NFL coach ever. I think he was Bill Parcels secret sauce to the those Giants championship teams. You just got to laugh at that 1995 Browns Coaching staff that was fired after the season and not allowed to continue in Baltimore. Something like 9 total future Head Coaches and GMs. Including Saban. COB
Odd fact about that ‘95 browns staff - Kirk Ferentz was on it. Appropriate that he was the o-line coach, which is essentially what he is at Iowa.
ArmyBengal
I went and looked up the coaching staff as well. I was just too curious at that point. Crazy some of the names associated with that team. Stupid Browns...

HoosierCat
Ranking the gigs: 2. Vegas Raiders - nice place to spend the offseason 6. Carolina Panthers - Charlotte is lame 8. Tennessee Titans - too republican 7. new England patriots - too cold 5. Seattle Seahawks - too wet 4. Washington Commanders - only if they go back to Football Team 3. Atlanta Falcons - Atlanta is a great town 1. San Diego Chargers - SD is the best town in Amer…oh, wait. Fucking LA? Shit now I have to do this all over. HoosierCat
Callahan’s tour now includes the Titans, Chargers, Panthers and Falcons. https://local12.com/sports/bengals/cincinnati-bengals-offensive-coordinator-brian-callahan-reportedly-interview-four-open-head-coaching-jobs-nfl-pro-football-tennessee-titans-los-angeles-chargers-carolina-panthers-atlanta-falcons
AMPHAR
I'd go San Diego No. 1. You have a QB that would be a top 10 pick in the last few drafts in place and top 5 pick with a high probability of an elite WR being there.
HoosierCat
Panthers among the four teams designated to host a game in Europe next season, so there’s a chance our guys could be headed to Munich. https://www.wlwt.com/article/cincinnati-bengals-opponent-carolina-panthers-germany-2024/46350085#
COB
If they go to Munich, I’m going. I have a nephew who lives there, would be a great trip.

Bengals lost their franchise QB halfway through the season, the D sucked all year, but the offense kept them in it until week 17 so no real surprise he’s getting some looks. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s Bill Callahan’s kid.
Stripes
I’m not actually certain what Brian Callahan does, so okay.
