HoosierCat
Appears they are picking up former Dallas QB Will Grier. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-will-grier-to-sign-with-bengals-practice-squad
ArmyBengal
Interesting. I remember Grier when he was playing at West Virginia. Lost track of him once coming into the league.
TJJackson
Really happy with the Will Grier pickup, much happier with him than Siemian.....had an excellent preseason showing I hope we dont lose him again - you can lose a PS player anytime
HoosierCat
Teams can protect up to 4 PS players a week. If he really is QB3 he will be one of those every week.
COB
Grier backed up none other than Jeff Driskel at Florida.

Lost track of him once coming into the league. Which is not surprising since there hasn't been much to track! He got drafted by the Panthers in 2019. Carolina would go on to start that year 5-3...and finish 0-8. Oof. Grier got a chance to play in the last two games. In his first outing against Indy, he went 27/44 for 224 yards, no TDs and 3 picks. Next week against the Saints, he attempted 8 passes, completing one, with no TDs and another pick. He was benched in favor of Christian McCaffery halfway through the second quarter. He hasn't thrown a regular season pass since. As TJ noted, he *did* look decent this preseason, 64/84, 640 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs across three games. That's worth the proverbial bucket of warm spit of course, but a five-year veteran ought to be able to stand out in preseason and he did that so...ok. TJJackson
shrug....he had a great performance in the final preseason game probably our best option for a much needed QB3 who might in reality be our QB2 right now, given how we have almost no info on Burrow's readiness
TJJackson
Lots of high quality players were released. Hope the Bengals pick up some of them https://clutchpoints.com/top-30-available-nfl-free-agents-after-cut-day Golla-whodey is on the list too :-)

Bears picked up our old pal Khalid Kareem as well, I see.
HoosierCat
OK that’s funny. And sweet. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/allbengals-insiders-plus/watch-cody-ford-reacts-to-making-bengals-53-man-roster
Stripes
I’m surprised Grier made it all the way to us. Cool.
HoosierCat
I think he was a free agent but I could be wrong.

Wraith
I think one of those slots is being held for Raymond Johnson.....
Stripes
I figured Grier was headed straight for the PS. He ought to fill one of the vacancies.
Stripes
Looks like we also grabbed Demetric Felton (RB) from the Browns.
TJJackson
I'd also like to see the preseason star DE make the PS I am very, very surprised that there are three WRs on the PS, should just be 2 at most....gimme Adeniji instead of Shedrick (who da fuck?) Jackson also gimme 2022 Pro Bowler OC Ben Jones who was cut by the Titans on the roster as our OC2 and put Trey "No Knees" Hill on the PS That Browns RB is just going to pumped for info for a week and released
Stripes
Jackson had an excellent preseason. I think he's more interesting than Lassiter. I think most Bengals fans are down on Trey Hill (myself included), but they clearly like something so shrug. They've earned my trust.

ArmyBengal
That practice squad has some talent on it. Wouldn’t surprise me to see some get poached at one time or another.

TJJackson
F U C K ! ! Meanwhile, the Big Johnson (sometimes also known as Fred) earned himself a NFC Championship ring (if such a thing exists) and a multi-year contract extension with the Super Bowl runners-up https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/philadelphia-eagles-fred-johnson-signing-preseason-roster-cuts-depth-chart-o-line this despite me being told in no uncertain terms that The Big Johnson sucked
Stripes
Adeniji had a nice run here for a 6th round draft pick. He might have seemed like decent depth, but he was kind of front-and-center in both the '21 Super Bowl and '22 AFCCG losses. We can do better.
