membengal Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 They took RB Chase Brown. Nice pick. Quote
membengal Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 They've really done a Ravens-esque draft good job of letting the board come to them. Quote
Stripes Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Tiny. I'm assuming he can catch the ball, and if so sounds good to me. Quote

Stripes Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Google says Chase Brown is 6'2". The NFL Network broadcast says Chase Brown is 5'9". The Illnois profile says Chase Brown is 5'11". The ESPN profile says Chase Brown is 5'11". 247Sports says Chase Brown is 5'10". That's funny. To be clear I don't actually care how tall he is. He's a running back. Quote
membengal Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 that's a REALLY friendly RAS. Mercy. Quote

ShulaSteakhouse Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 "Most underrated RB in College Football" says the title. Dunno about that, but 1600 yards and 10 TD's despite being fairly tiny is interesting. More shifty than run-away speed, but he can do both. Can push forward for yards in traffic at times which is unusual for his size. Maybe a teams guy who has a chance to bring back the Gio role. 5th round's a good spot to get a RB and ST'er. The Rams have like 2-3 of these types of guys on the roster it seems all the time (as far as Taylor's roster management influences are concerned), along with one big hammer back usually (i.e. Mixon, Gurley). I do wonder how they plan to use him, can't imagine he's much of a blocker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM2NHoMv8pY Quote
COB Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Ok at worst we can deploy his elite explosiveness on special teams. At best he can work in as a regular back in a multi back platoon scheme. Quote
Wraith Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Terrific Pick, Chase Brown is a hard working kid, team leader, 139 YPG last year in the Big Ten when EVERYONE knew he was their offense. Quote
Stripes Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Can this guy pass protect? I have no idea; I just know that'll determine how often he sees the field. 1 Quote
Wraith Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Hard to tell because Illinois didn't pass much. Quote

membengal Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Not sure ANY college RB comes into the NFL as a plus blocker - question is - are they willing to work on it and can they physically do it. Seems like Brown is a yes on both those counts. Quote
