I would love for them to completely change their offensive approach to passing with the talent they've had. I think it blows up in their face. Keep Lamar on the tag. Throw first and often. Suck. Then destroy the mega trade value they could have had this year. Quote

HoosierCat Posted April 4, 2023 Author Report Posted April 4, 2023 Hobs teases 6 prime time games. Quote As the great debate swirls around flex scheduling, the Bengals appear ready to flex their muscles for the second straight year with the maximum amount of prime-time games when the NFL schedule is released next month. That number is now at six and the man who hinted they'd get the max last year says he wouldn't be surprised if quarterback Joe Burrow's popular two-time AFC finalists with a marquee schedule do it again. Mike North, the NFL's vice president for broadcasting, planning and scheduling, says just about every game on Cincinnati's schedule is compelling. "I would expect them to be pretty close to maxed out in terms of their prime-time appearances," said North last week in a hotel lobby at the NFL spring meeting in Phoenix, Ariz., as he offered a glimpse at how the Bengals shape up in front of the schedule-makers. "You can find a really good national television home for probably 12 of their 17 games. That tells you what we think of the Bengals. They're going to be seen on a lot of national television." https://www.bengals.com/news/bengals-appear-to-be-primed-again-as-nfl-closes-in-on-next-month-s-schedule-rele Quote

HoosierCat Posted April 4, 2023 Author Report Posted April 4, 2023 Caesar’s has set the Bengals O/U for season wins at 11.5. Brinson is going with the OVER. Quote The Bengals are looking to win the AFC North for the third-straight season ... for the first time in franchise history. That says a lot about Cincy (but also about Pittsburgh and Baltimore if we're being fair). What says even more is the team total for Joe Burrow and Co. at this point of the offseason, with Cincy checking in at a VERY robust 11.5 Over/Under for their win total. The Bengals suffered some personnel losses this offseason, with both Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell departing in free agency. Dax Hill looks like a developing young replacement and Michael Thomas was re-signed; add in the massive, massive addition of free agent left tackle Orlando Brown and the Bengals may very well have come out on top in the attrition game, even after making two straight AFC title games. Brown should significantly improve Burrow's protection, which could lead to Burrow staying upright and should result in everyone feeling better about his health and ability to push the ball down the field. There's too much quarterback uncertainty for the other three teams in this division for me not to like the Over at plus money, even with a first-place schedule lingering. I would NOT advise betting it right now -- an April 11.5 win total is more likely to go down than up, although a Lamar Jackson trade or lengthy holdout could potentially shift the juice. Pick: Bengals OVER 11.5 wins (+105) https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2023-nfl-win-totals-picks-bets-for-afc-north-division-hinges-on-lamar-jackson-trade-rumors-bengals-new-king/ All right. I’ll go OVER too. Quote

Tough part is the AFC North has been ultra competitive since its inception. There only been 5 AFC North Champs go undefeated in the division since its inception in 2002. Despite Cleveland never winning it and mostly finishing in last place. Steelers 02, 08, 17, Bengals 09, and Ravens 12. The AFC North is typically going to hang a loss or two on the eventual champ. Also it seems whatever 2 teams emerge as the contenders they attempt to kill each other in season and playoffs. Ravens/Steelers/Bengals were blood baths. Most recent example was Baltimore in the last game of the season. It'd be nice to have a non-competitive division. KC is like 27-3 2015 in AFC West. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 5, 2023 Report Posted April 5, 2023 While hating the teams in the North (That's natural) I love the AFC North. I still feel it's one of, if not the most, physical in the league. An old school mentality so to speak. Even if that's not what you see other weeks, you feel it when the teams play each other. They bring it in those matchups. Agree they beat each other up. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 7, 2023 Report Posted April 7, 2023 Looking at the home opponents for 2023, I will targeting a few of them to hit up. The Texans game will be a must attend for ArmyBengal Jr. and I have an Army buddy from Houston that will come up. I will want to see the Rams come to town and we kick the dogshit out of them. The Bills will be a good game and I'm going to give the Bills fans what they gave us coming up their way, without being a total asshole about it. Both the Seahawks and Vikings game are intriguing as well. I have no interest in any of the AFCN matchups or the Colts. Would be cool to road trip the 49er's game this year. Quote

I like gambling. But they’re putting a O/U line out before the schedule is even being released. I’m surprised they’re doing that. A game against Team X might look like a win. Then the schedule comes out in May and we see that we play Team X on the road on a Thursday night right after we played Pittsburgh and Baltimore on consecutive Sundays, and Team X is our tenth game in a row leading into our bye. My point is it’s difficult to handicap these games without knowing the schedule, the context. Another variable is the roster and the draft. Team X looks like a pushover now, then they elbow the Jets out of the way and sign Aaron Rogers. Different game altogether. Quote

Well, see, that’s because you like interacting with people. I think people suck (present company excepted). The less I have to deal with other human beings the better. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 8, 2023 Report Posted April 8, 2023 No can’t say as I do. I’m an introverted home body who, while I will and do well interacting, I do not enjoy doing so. I think society for the most part is a huge crock of shit. My dream is to retire and leave the United States, although my wife will probably crush that dream. 1 Quote
