  1. I didn't expect tons from Murphy entering the season, but then came Ossai's ankle injury. With that happening, I really expected to see Murphy's snap count be greater than it has been and when given the opportunity, I was hoping to see at least moderate production without there being a ton of stress on him. There was plenty of talk about the Bengals liking Murphy, but they had no intention of trading what it would take to move up far enough to grab him. When he fell to them, I don't think there was much thought to taking him. Of course, I could be wrong, but there was plenty of talk.
  2. The leaves have just started to change and are falling already. It's been a couple of years since I did that myself. Better find my rake !! Regarding the game, even with T-Rex and Hubbard, I thought we would have seen more from Myles Murphy. In fairness, Sample has been getting more snaps than him, but I just thought there would be more. Irv Smith also appears as doubtful with a hamstring issue. It appears his injury history continues. I just hope the hyped environment of PayJoe stadium on a Monday Night gets these guys amped up. Regardless of who is starting tonight, just get the offense moving. If Mixon gets started, stick with him instead of being cute.
  3. The Steelers and Browns win yesterday, but the Ravens lose in overtime to the Colts. That puts everyone at 2-1, except our Bengals. Getting that first win tonight would help keep up.
  4. I honestly didn’t know he was still playing. I went and saw XFL stats and thought to myself… hmmm
  5. I’m good with McCarron coming back. “He started all but one of the Battlehawks' ten games, and in those nine games, McCarron completed 203 of 295 attempts for 2,150 yards and 24 touchdowns against six interceptions. He also rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.” Yes, XFL stats, but that’s still solid. He that attitude about him I like in a QB.
  6. I wouldn’t assume at this point that Burrow plays.
  7. Well hell... maybe we should start him Monday. Seriously though, get Chuck Sizzle taking snaps out of the wild cat. That would add a wrinkle that hasn't been there previously.
  8. If they would like to run a wildcat, I can think of at least a couple other players I would want to see taking that snap rather than Mixon.
  9. I applaud your enthusiasm...
  10. Yep. Not an epic failure due to his amazing ability, but rather they don’t have a backup to Browning if Burrow doesn’t play. I have read where they could just bring back Siemian. That dude is straight up dog shit.
  11. Wait wait wait… New England signed Grier off the Bengals practice squad before they called him up ?? If so, that is an epic failure on the part of the Bengals.
  12. If all things are equal, I endorse this comment 100%.
  13. Hostetler started 83 games in his career and owned a 51-32 record. Not exactly an apples to apples, but I get it. I never thought much of him either. Honestly, I wouldn't care who quarterbacked the team to a Super Bowl victory. If they signed Colt McCoy off the street and he led them to a Super Bowl win, he would be the greatest Bengal QB of all time. I don't think that shit has a chance in hell either.
  14. It's not about the QB. Got it. The Bengals are 0-2 with Burrow as the QB, but we expect some other QB to just win because of the rest of the team. The Ryan Finley example in 2020, was also the only game Finley started in his entire career that he won. That's called a fluke. It's all good though, I just disagree with the thought. No issue.
  15. Happy that happened to another QB not named Browning in 2020. Has no bearing what might happen should Browning take a snap. Again, not wishing him ill or a Bengals loss, but to think he should still win just because? I'm just not there. If anyone else is, that's cool.
  16. I have zero faith in Browning if he has to start games. Thinking he "should win" ?? Nope, not this fan. I'm thinking they should lose, while rooting for the win. Nothing would please me more than to see him tear it up, should he get the start. I'm just not expecting it.
  17. Whatever helps soak up the alcohol
  18. My point to saying "I'm old" is simply that I no longer wish to deal with stupid shit. However, the behavior noted has certainly increased and while hearing people say, "It's always been that way", I simply disagree. I can recall going to games and never smelling weed and fights rarely, if ever, happened. Now (see this past Sunday) you have to redirect your kids around the piles of vomit on the sidewalks, in bathrooms and concession lines. No one cleans it up either. The fan experience they put so much into, does not seem to take that into consideration.
  19. People dying at a football game because they get into a fight is just ridiculous. Typically, when I sit down I look around to see if there are opposing fans around me. There were two dudes in Ravens jerseys close by Sunday and I spoke to them, wished them luck and told them I like to yell at the other team. We were all joking with each other and I made the comment that while I don't like the Ravens, don't take what I say personal. They all were pretty much the same way and through the game, we never had any concerns. My concerns were with the obnoxious Bengals fans around us just completely wasted and high. While I have always seen drunk people at the games, there seem to be more and the use of drugs is something that is now everywhere. It's whatever, I'm old. I will probably just limit things after this year if that's how this season continues when at the stadium.
  20. That's racist !! LMAO !!
  21. If his calf is truly injured and he's struggling, fine, sit him. Just know the season is over, minus Browning doing the impossible and leading this team to wins during Burrow's absence. I have no faith whatsoever that will happen.
  22. It's been a while since I've seen an injury that fucking gruesome. I saw the close up when he got hit and if you have a weak stomach, it wouldn't end well. Wish him the best in his recovery. That's the kind of injury that ends careers.
  23. Funny, I never pictured raptors to look like a 68 year old burned out chic with a bottle of whiskey and foul mouthed to no end.
  24. If his calf is going to be an ongoing issue, the season is not going to end well at all. They simply can't afford more set backs at this point. People seemingly miss the fact that this year's 0-2 is different than last year's. This year, they are also already 0-2 in the AFC North. The 2023 Ravens are not the 2022 Ravens. They didn't have Lamar those last two meetings. If Lamar stays healthy, the Bengals overcoming that 0-2 start is going to be far more challenging then last year. I think that's why I hate hearing people say, "They did it last year". I think that's a false sense of security. It's also not the norm for how things typically shake out for teams that start slow.
  25. Yeah, I already have tickets for the Rams, Seahawks and Texans. A couple of those are with military buddies coming into town. Hopefully those games are a little less stupid than yesterday's game was. I'm sure there's a bit to do with me being older, but the crowds seemingly get dumber and dumber. The drugs and alcohol aren't helping the matter.
