  1. Guyton is certainly a guy they should be considering. Him having Brown's phone number is not part of the equation. If it is, the scouting department really needs to rethink things.
  2. Totally get that. Newton has been my #1 for some time now, but I'm for the first time swayed by the thought of the best available RT. Those guys look really solid and we need that badly. Especially when considering I think Pollack should be fired. Then God forbid a TE like Bowers, who should go in the top 10, happens to fall. Not saying he should absolutely be the pick, but his presence should give them pause before picking.
  3. I don't think about or care how much they pay Irv Smith, but whatever it is, it's too much. HE SUCKS !!
  4. Just start the purge already. Move on from some of the guys getting older, but still costing a lot. Hate to lose Boyd because I love that dude, but they've drafted his replacement. Awuzie needs to go and draft another CB, along with DJ Turner's hopeful progression. Reader needs to go and draft another DT. Williams needs to go and draft another RT. Damn near every TE needs to go and certainly Irv Smith and get one in the draft. If Tupou and Sample don't cost much, they can come back for depth. Look at the linebackers like ADG, Bailey and Bachie. Maybe bring them back, maybe not. When looking at Reader, Boyd, Awuzie and Williams, that's nearly 40 million alone in salary. Extend both Higgins and Chase when time allows and move on. Well, that's my take. I'm sure others may disagree.
  5. I like pie !! Jonah should be gone. While I no longer straight up dislike the guy, you can't afford to give him an elite contract when his production is not commensurate to the dollar amount. To Hoosier's point, there's too much young talent in the draft that can add 5 years of stability on a small dime. You don't pay Jonah. Higgins get the tag for sure, but that's no small amount either. Honestly, that's probably where his contract should be. Somewhere in the low to mid 20's per year. Again, if they want him long term, they can do it. Again, this is another reason you don't pay Jonah. I also don't see a tag and trade scenario either. Mostly because with the tag being a fair market price, why get rid of a value piece of the offense when you don't have to? Especially when the draft picks would be unknowns and you can't force the time lines for him signing the tag. Chase is going to get paid and the Bengals will be the team to do it. It's not a matter of if, it's when... I honestly don't even think much about it. We've made mention of this many times, but it's worth repeating. This is what happens when you have star players and you want to hold onto them. You pay the biggest and brightest of them you can build a team around and then you build. They will have to hit on draft picks and make solid, yet mostly unspectacular (see not high price) moves in free agency to help out.
  6. Kris Jenkins is also of pro bloodlines and should have no issue with the transition. I've watched him play a lot of ball and he would be more than acceptable to me.
  7. A lot of good tackles for sure. Just get a true RT for us. Don't get cute and take a LT they want to switch, unless that guy is otherworldly and shit, and it won't be a problem.
  8. Sounds like a Browns move. Hire the guy that was fired from an underperforming unit.
  9. No matter how many times I look at the draft and free agency, I come away with 3 certainties. However they want to approach it, they need a RT, DT and TE. I want those three positions in whatever order they so desire. I also won't care if they give up draft capital to get the guy they want earlier. Although, a trade down would never shock me from this team.
  10. Won’t be watching this Super Bowl. Yawn…
  11. Rooting for Detroit and Detroit alone… Dont care who wins the Ravens game, but almost prefer the Ravens over the stupid ass Chiefs. Another dominant AFC North team. I hate Mahomes…
  12. Again… I’m cool with that. Maybe then they can find a way to either get the o-line to pass block better or find an o-line coach that can get his line in tune with what Burrow likes to do. Pollack needs to go either way around. Hes obviously not that dude.
  13. I’m good with letting Burrow dictate what’s going on, but at some point in time someone should probably discuss the importance of a running attack. Regarding Callahan, I just meant he will be calling the offenses plays.
  14. That might have meant more had it came from their starting QB? Who is this Watson guy? They must also be unaware of what the franchise tag is. Stupid Browns…
  15. Well Brian Callahan took that same philosophy in his head coaching gig with the Titans and will be making all the calls, as opposed to whoever he hires as OC. Funny the things you learn and what becomes normal.
  16. Burrow on the hire of Pitcher: “Our relationship is as good as it gets," Burrow said in a release. "I wouldn’t be the player I am today without him. He’s been preparing for this for years. He takes his job very seriously and does it with a lot of passion."
  17. Shit, I forget what streaming platforms I do and don't have anymore. My buddies and I all get one and then share passwords with each other.
  18. I keep forgetting Chris Evans is on this team. Sad, because he always seems to be solid to above average during the preseason and then is AWOL during the regular season. I've just gotten use to forgetting who he is. Grade the draft? Yeah, I'm with a higher side of this as well. Make it a B+ for me. Chase is a superstar and having a kicker banging from 50+ and expecting him to hit is massive. I would like for some more depth out of a class, but that's not really that bad. Hell, as much as I don't like Carman, he had a monster game against the Bills in the divisional playoffs. Too bad we haven't gotten much more.
  19. I liked the Battle pick when it was made and loved seeing him have a productive season as a rookie. If they are going to keep paying guys, they need to start expecting and getting more out of rookies.
  20. Yeah, I just want to see something different from the same old, same old. When you have a roster full of talented players, play with it a bit. Throw a new wrinkle in there. Come up with something, anything, to keep the opposing defense on their toes. I don't have any issue whatsoever with Pitcher personally, but he doesn't give me the impression we are going to be seeing anything vastly different. Maybe that's a good thing. What the hell do I know ??
  21. Yeah, I think they will have another decent season and if the pitching can hold out, maybe even get to the post season. Baseball is such a long season, I find it hard to stay entrenched in the every day stuff like I do with football. Going to the games is a different experience as well. Baseball is more social. I've sat out in the right field bleachers drinking beer and barely even paid attention to the game. Just sat and enjoyed a nice day chatting people up down on the river. Go Reds !!!
  22. And just like that, Dan Pitcher is the new OC. I guess that’s good?.?. I’m left feeling a little meh about that, but at least they moved quick…
  23. The Chargers managed to sign both Keenan Allen, 4 years 80 million and Mike Williams, 3 years 60 million. Then by some work of God, obviously, managed to get Herbert extended to the tune of 5 years 262.5 million. It can be done and the Bills just showed why it should be done. Teams will take away your best guy and you still have to find a way to beat them. Not saying it can’t be done without Higgins, but I’d rather they didn’t. Pay both him and Chase. Draft a new RT, new TE, and new DT and get them fucking ready !!!
  24. Nice to see someone comment about Newton. Great work up on Joe’s part with the game tape. Loved the Kancey comp, as I mentioned earlier that he was one of my favorites last year. Him with two above average DE’s and that’s a problem for opposing offfenses. Loved his thoughts on Higgins and makes me think about not only how they manage to keep him, but get a truly dynamic TE for Burrow. I like the Mixon, Brown combo, but think they need to get another guy to add in there as well. Thanks for sharing Hoosier !!
  25. I agree with him... it's a talented tackle class. If Newton were there in the first, I would bet we could still find a starting RT in the 2nd. I would prefer Newton in that scenario as well. I wanted Kancey last year coming out of Pitt as well and that didn't happen. He went at pick #19. Maybe this year will be different.
