  1. If Dax and Myles Murphy were linchpins for the defense, this whole scenario would look different. Dax would be entering the year before his club option decision was looming and the team trying to figure out how to pay him. Myles Murphy would make the Trey situation look much different and have the team to looking for his replacement in the draft, without thought of paying him market money. Even if the light goes on for Myles this year, they have him locked up for three seasons including the option year. Since that is not the case, they could afford to pay both Chase and Tee, because, well… who else are you going to pay?

  2. I see the same thing by and large Hoosier, but have found that when considering those OT's that will probably move to OG once drafted, my outcomes improve. Again, who knows how it's all going to play out? That's why I think we continue to see visits with guys like Minnesota, OT, Aireontae Ersery. Big, athletic OT's that will probably move inside, but still capable of backing up the OT spot as well in a pinch. That honestly might be the best approach as I view things anyway.

  3. No, no, I didn't take it that way at all. What federal agencies still exist come end of the year remains to be seen. Clearly, I'm an advocate for Veterans and always will be.

  4. From the Colts board. With that many teams and it doesn't even mention Eagles that were rumored "monitoring". Stick with the ridiculous trade package as long as you can especially when its rumored the Bengals have a $30m offer on the table. What's the point of trading Trey for compensatory pick value? Let him sit out and take a chance at the deadline a team gets desperate if he don't want your $30m.

  5. NFLPA Team Report Card: Category 14: Arby’s accessibility and quality: Cincinnati Bengals - 27th. Unlike some teams that provide Arby’s (Chiefs - unlimited Arby’s any time of day or night. Chargers - Arby’s free at lunch during season), the Bengals have only a coupon system to get Arby’s into the hands of hungry players. Several players complained about a certain zit-faced teenage drive through worker on loan to the Montgomery Road location from an Arby’s in Heath, Ohio. “This youngster argued with me about my coupon, but worst of all, he was very rude to several late middle-age customers who just weren’t familiar with Arby’s’s current menu,” said one player. Another Bengal player added, “If I hit on some of my incentive bonuses this year I’m going to hire a hitman to kill this pimply-faced teenager from the Montgomery road drive through. That’ll teach him to respect his elders. And to accept the coupon Mike gave me even though it says ‘Expires 9/2018”.

  6. I saw that Geno Atkins will be eligible for the HOF next cycle. Are we ready for a few decades of complaining on Geno's behalf? I know I am.

  7. In regards to a trade down scenario, those OT's soon to be OG's would be my target.

  8. My absolute dream pick at 17 would be OT Armand Membou, whose short-ish arms means he will probably play OG in he NFL 9.82 RAS https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=27170&ovl=Combine

  9. I think Rapien is a knucklehead and I don't care to listen to him. Him and the other dude don't strike me as any more informed than the average fan. Why listen? I to was hopeful for the two year deal they could move away from and that's what we have with Tee. I love looking at Spotrac once contracts are released, because I like the way they break it all down for you to see. If Tee has two above average seasons in 2025 and 2026, paying him 32m in 2027 will look like chump change. If he doesn't, they can walk away saving money as Tee is shown the door. EXACTLY what I wanted. Same thing (kind of) with Ja'Marr. Except they are "married" to him for 4 seasons and even that is how it's viewed. While there is an out for the Bengals in 2029, there is still savings to be had earlier if something crazy happened. It's about how much savings makes the most sense. I would bet an extension is in play earlier if all is good. Knowing he could play though the 2029 season and still not be 30 years old makes me very happy. I really don't get all the concern with paying both of these guys and it's been said here many times. Who the hell else will they need to cough up big dough to in the next 2-3 seasons? They have guys on their rookie deals and free agents they may or may not decide to keep down the road. There's so much that could change, that it doesn't make any sense to worry about what if's at this point. I'm happy knowing we don't have to worry about these guys for the coming few seasons and maybe more. Chase, Tee and Gisicki signings will ensure this offense will remain fun to watch for some time. Devote resources to Al Golden rebuilding the defense and roll with what you've got. I'm good with that approach. Or we could be the Steelers that are about to put the 2025 season into Rodgers hands. If I'm a Steelers fan, there is nothing about that scenario that would make me excited about the upcoming season.

  10. Winston, Rodgers, Cousins ?? All the same guys at this point. None of which I would want as a QB of my team.

  11. Scherff is, apparently, in no rush to sign anywhere and is taking his time to weigh up multiple options. I think that we sometimes forget that this is a 2 way street.

  12. Mina Kimes and Lord Dorkus McBabyface like our receiver extensions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckEiC5G-P6A (begins at 2:25) Who cares, obviously, but it's refreshing to see some positivity.

  13. That's why I don't really get all upset with whatever the numbers are. Much like Burrow signing the contract that made him the highest paid QB in history. That's just something to say, but is always short lived. Truth is, that in a couple of years, those deals will look like bargains simply because the cap and future deals with other players will do nothing but continue to grow. While I wish they would have gotten things done sooner with them, it really is neither here nor there. Tee and Chase will be here for a while with Burrow and the offense should be fun to watch. Just pay Trey already and let Golden get the defense back to middle of the pack. If that happens, we are right back in the thick of Super Bowl contention. I truly believe that and am happy to be able to feel that way about our team. It's a good time to be a Bengals fan.

  14. Murphy is a real question mark for me. On one hand I want to call him a bust. A team simply cannot draft a guy in the first round and get so little out of them. It hurts this team more because it's on the defensive side of the ball that anticipated him making more of an impact. Then again, he was like the youngest player in the draft a couple years ago and just turned 23. While a big guy, I can't help but wonder how much being so young played into it. That and he hasn't had a massive amount of defensive snaps and not a single start since being drafted. I think development of players also needs to be taken into consideration. He put up 25 reps at the combine. While that's solid, it falls short of what the average lineman should be putting up. Maybe it's mental for him, I don't know, but this is the last year I'm going to keep hope for it to click for him.

  15. The point I was trying to make was, I'm not sure the DE we can hope to get in the 1st is going to be significantly better than the DE we can get in the 2nd round. If that's the case, #17 can really be an open book for BPA within reason.

  16. I've always held out hope for Kirkland, as once upon a time (prior to injury) he was a top end OT prospect. Not sure if that ever comes to fruition for him but not willing to play wait and see. That would be a welcomed problem for the o-line to have.

  17. I am willing to bet whatever good money I have (spoiler: I have none) that Kirkland will play a significant role this year At 6'7" he'd be one of the tallest OGs ever, but still

  18. I hope Schreff is in play. I'm sure the Manning Colts comparison's are coming. Neither Bengals or Colts, IMO, when they were at the bottom before Manning or Burrow set foot and said WE must have 2 top WRs at the start. Its a matter of paying and retaining the parts that have worked out. In the case of Manning. Faulk and Harrison were already on the roster and unexpected 1997 meltdown landed them Manning. They were in the playoffs 95 and 96. Its a zero sum game and something Tobin has not proven to win at. He must add top pieces while drafting in the 2nd half of rounds.

  19. Bengals need Higgins 4 best years. If they get that then this could be gold. If they get the last 2. It could be a problem. Trey is supposedly home shopping in Cincy area, lol. That's off one of the youtube podcast. If the rumors are true the Bengals are offering that. Its hard for him to say no, IMO. If this group returns to the Superbowl and Trey moved on. Its like not going in on the work powerball pool and it hits.

  20. Structure is the key. I think Justin Jefferson is really the highest non paid QB. Myles Garret details have not been released yet. Justin Jefferson gets $96m first 3 years and then, $126m first 4 years. $110m considered guaranteed. The Max Crosby deal never exceeds any of those numbers. So the media can't afford to wait to report truth it will go on the AAV and their hot takes which is not truth. JJ's cap hits were $9m first year and $15m. So if its structured in the same manner there's significant cap savings. Higgins: I believe Waddle is considered the highest paid No. 2 WR. He gets $53m in 3 years, $77m in 4. His cap hits are $9m first two years. If structured in same manner more cap savings. We'll see.

  21. I’m hoping to see Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh this season for no other reason than to watch him further implode and wreck their shit.

  22. Thrilled to have Perine back. He was such a good pass blocker on 3rd downs, and when he got the ball he was crazy north south. Like he was up to speed in about one step. Really hurt to see him go to Denver, I can’t recall what the issue with keeping him was. If he’s the same player or close to it we just got a lot better in the offensive backfield, especially on 3rd downs. Also, we were kind of running our young guy into the ground, it’ll be good to lessen his load.

  23. For sure Moss. When he was healthy he played 0 ST snaps. Now you have a couple backs that can get snaps in the offense and also contribute to STs with Perine and Herbert. I'm assuming Herbert isn't a FA. Then Williams is looking at a uphill battle.

  25. Rapien has Higgins on a private jet to Cincinnati to sign a deal. He's been a mouth piece for the Higgins camp all off season. Hope its done, Bengals have a way out after two years, and the drama is over concerning Tee.

  26. I was glad to see Carl Lawson go, and though I’m not glad to see Hendrickson go, it seems inevitable with trying to pay two huge receiver deals. Just seemed unrealistic to be able to pay the league’s sack leader what he wants on top of 3 offense skill guys who have giant contracts.

  27. I really don't see the value in Tee at $30m a year with Chase. Sorry. Tee has become the newer version of the Indoor practice field. Signing him is more symbolism vs. benefit. I would absolutely jump at any top 50 pick. Don't think the Bengals can trade Tee for a slightly better comp pick. Too much crying will happen. I doubt teams are offering up a top 50 pick. Trey - I say do it unless there's a basket of picks to be had. Although it be great to pay Trey just over the next 2 years. But if you have to risk year 3/4. He's just too consistent. You'd have to get a 1st or the equivalent in a trade. Not sure that's doable based on Hasson Reddick trade last year. Today, they are on the hook for $48m cash AND cap with Tee and Trey. If neither are here then that's at least $48m in cap room and realistically frees up $70m of cash. Then you'll have some sort of picks as well.

  28. If Burton had balled out instead of being a case study of “Is It Just a Personality Disorder or Is It Real Mental Illness” we wouldn’t be in this fix with Tee.

  29. Yeah, when lunch on the first day of camp rolls around I’m sure he’ll see to it that all those burgers come with extra pubes.
