  • 1 month later...

Well, we're almost there, people. Vets report tomorrow, and the first practice is Friday. So that means we are just 48 hours away from starting the annual "which key player suffers a season ending camp injury" watch. The smart money is probably on Moobs...

First injury report of the season from dehner:

#Bengals place HB Jarveon Williams on the Active/PUP list and DB Brandon Wilson on Active/NFI. Basically, neither will be practicing Friday.

Good news, as he pointed out in a subsequent tweet, is that John Ross hasn't appeared on either list.

Can only mean that it's time for camp.

Owczarski:

Reminder for #Bengals fans: Bernard/Efiert/Ross won’t be participating “fully” here at the outset. No PUP/NFI designations thus far are key.

So basically they're not officially injured, just unofficially injured. Or something.

Maybe because the enormously talented Eifert has missed 27 of his 64 NFL is he tired of hearing about what-ifs with this offense.

“I’m sick of hearing about potential,” Eifert said. “We talk about the weapons. We just have to put it all together, you know?”

Oh, we know, Tyler. Brother, do we ever know...

From Baghdad Hob:

Bad day for safeties. Starter George Iloka (knee) and backup Derron Smith (ankle) got carted off together for MRIs. It’s believed that Iloka hyperextended it while covering a quick pass over the middle to wide receiver Alex Erickson on the second snap of 11-on-11s. It’s unknown how bad Smith’s ankle is after he went down in a 7-on-7 session.

Iloka is pretty important.  Lose him, our defense will suffer pretty badly.
