ArmyBengal Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 Well, we've come to the end of the preseason with the last one against the Eagles. I suspect we will see more of the same with no starters taking snaps and the backup getting work in. After the Friday game come cutdowns which need to be made by 6:00pm EST on Sunday. I think we will see some guys playing for their lives in this game. Maybe not their lives, but for a spot on the roster. I think it will be interesting to see who get the axe this year, as there might be a could surprises. Equally intriguing will be to see who the other teams will be getting rid of. The swing tackle situation will be one I will be looking for, along with a couple other spots. However, not really expecting much there. We will see. Then it's two weeks and two days until the week one opener against the Bucs. Fortunately, I won a bet on the Super Bowl and my buddy had to buy tickets to this game so I will be there. Cannot wait to be back in the stadium for a real game and watch our dudes hopefully get the win. My hopes for the season are running pretty high right now, so them coming out and dropping a steaming pile on the field will be more than just a little disappointing. 1 Quote

COB Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Just today I got a flyer in my mailbox for “Cody Ford Gutter and Downspout Service.” How do things move so fast these days? In the old days before he started cleaning out gutters in earnest, Cody would have gone on a week long bender, probably get into a domestic dispute with the old lady, possible car wreck/drunk driving scenario, etc. Now these dudes stay in shape, clean out gutters for a week or two, then get signed by the Raiders. 2 Quote

Offense series 1 - Dohnte Meyers converts a 3rd and 8, the announcers gloss him, and he promptly catches another one for like 15 yards, announcers keep glossing him, and he catches another for 25 yards, dude gets like 51 yards in one series. 1 Quote

As play continues, bengals defenders hit the wrong gaps and exhibit bad tackling. Tacario Davis makes a good open field tackle. Two plays later, Tacario Davis gets a pick. Ross Tucker, normally a harsh critic of the bengals, professes his admiration for Davis. Quote

Per Joe, coaching staff is great, QB 2 and 3 are great, new defense guys are great. Someone named Kimber for the bengals makes a great open field tackle and forces a punt. Quote
