Really not a fan of how mysterious this injury is. Gonna be a long day.

Yea really normally they have some kind of update on players and they gave nothing. Either they really don’t know or just waiting to say. Guess by tomorrow

Everything I can find seems to suggest the magnitude of the tear determines the timeline, with a total tear probably ending his season (and ours).

A minor tear could be a couple weeks.

Totally in the dark.

I’m really struggling to figure this team out anymore. People saying before the season this is the best o-line Burrow as played with. Technically on paper maybe it is, and on any other team i feel they could succeed with this o-line.

I question anymore of it’s this coaching staff, or there gameplan, or could it be that Burrow makes the o-line bad with his play when he does not get the ball out quick. Maybe it’s a combination anymore of all 3.

Not sure what will happen anymore this season as this injury is pretty deflating a few weeks maybe more, could pretty much mean this season is done. Truthfully really starting to feel Zac has held this team, and Burrow back so bad with his piss poor play calling. This team needs a run game something they never have, because he never sticks with it. All offseason I hear about how great Chase Brown will be and how much work he has put in, then freaking show it! I don’t know without Burrow guess will see what kind of coaches they have

Not sure how that’s “several weeks”. Sounds bad to me.

Given Burrow’s history, I am sure that it’s some rare version of the injury that can only be healed with athelas applied by the true king of Gondor and Arnor, because he never has normal injuries.

Pop an edible and relax. We’ll see how it goes but 3/4 of the next games are nfc north games, and if we gotta lose some games those are the ones to lose.  If I’m Zac I’m focusing on beating Denver in two weeks and hoping Joe is back for Pitt.

Yup I agree this once again has become a joke. They do the least minimum thing to help protect him, and once again it shows.

HOGWASH!  I just think he’s turning out to be the ‘Don Gullet’ of football.

Well truthfully I actually thought this o-line was going to be good. Still have no clue if it’s coaching, scheming, Burrow not getting the ball out fast enough and always trying to do something. I don’t know, but this is a common thing year after year. Between this and never running the ball is getting pretty annoying.

What was the reason they called the TD on Tinsley catch since both feet weren’t in bounds?

Shin counts as two feet

Thanks HC.  I had to assume something like that.

Part of it is that defenses play the Bengals differently when Burrow is the QB. With Joe in there, it’s all eyes and hands on him. They don’t actually believe the Bengals are going to run the ball or even add much razzle dazzle to the passing game. It’s just give Joe the ball and let one of his uber-talented wide receivers beat coverage downfield. That puts huge pressure on the oline and breakdowns are bound to occur, no matter the talent level.

you saw this yesterday, and we saw it when Browning was the starter a few years ago. With him in, defenses can’t just tee off like the do with Joe. For one thing, they might actually run the ball! And Jake is the better play action qb. That will slow down the pass rush too. They also do more in the pass game, Browning’s first toss was a screen for example. Remember we talked about this years ago, how they needed to incorporate what Browning was doing into Joe’s game. And they did some but he’s still 90% about chucking it downfield. But the bottom line is the oline will look better with Browning just because they don’t have to be perfect every play.

Well it’s like every other year he is injured anymore, and probably because of the offense Zac runs. They pretty much ask him to do everything, would be nice for once to mix in a good running game so it’s not always on him. I don’t know maybe Joe wants this type of offense as well, but makes you wonder how much he will continue to have in him getting injured all the time. I think maybe it’s time they change things up, not sure that will ever happen, but at least give him some running help anyways.

Line was getting whooped early in the game.   Then late in the game they weren't as bad.   There is a clear difference in play calling and approach with Browning under center.     Joe is an uber talent QB.   They've probably gotten carried away with his talent and might need to dial back his influence if he survives Toe scare.

Also I don't know what you have to do to get the line playing better.

KC and Buffalo had to do minor adjustments as well.   Mahomes has suffered injuries just never ones that have taken him off the field for significant periods.  Allen is a tank.   But those offenses like the Bengals got caught up in the uber-talented QB as well.

So guess it’s confirmed now he needs surgery and a minimum 3 months recovery. Yea so there’s that, I however am not sure I see him even coming back this season.

Having a QB made of glass and one of the worst OLs in the league is not a recipe for success. I doubt he’ll be back this year.

Hopefully we get more under centre  and play action adopted into the scheme now.

Probably best to get the surgery instead of screwing around with rehab.  From what I've read there can be set backs all the time just trying to rehab it.   I doubt he makes it back this year.
