How is there defense so good every year, nothing makes sense anymore to me about this team. Maybe the coaching sucks around here, but such an inexcusable loss! More and more I’m coming to the realisation that 2021 and 2022 were a flash in the pan. This is not a good team or staff, by any sensible measure. COB
Maybe by his 10th or 11th year here Taylor will learn how to get a team ready to play football. No sense of urgency, ever. Never prepared.
HoosierCat
Mixon seals the win for Houston with a 9 yard run for a first down. Finishes with 159 yards and a TD on 30 carries.
volcom69
I’m really not understanding the game plan at all, I guess they try to establish the run and they can’t run it, so they throw it, but never one day throw it down the field. They finally find a run game, stop running it and still don’t throw the ball down the field. Worst part is Joe Burrow once again looks so scared behind this O-line, looked like his eyes were always watching the o-line, and never down field. Would never settle his feet, would always try and scramble, never let anything develop. The one and only drive they did something he actually looked settle. I don’t get it. It’s horrible

Hell he has no clue how to get Chase those kind of yards!

I think this was his third best game.
TJJackson
the superbowl window is closed selfishness by players who I had thought werent selfish divas untimely injuries (including Burrow, who still seems injured) lack of preparation during training camp bad game day personnel decisions (why wasnt a NT called up from the PS to slow the run game, why was the one payer called up made inactive) bad in game decisons (punt instead of go for it on final 4th down) ignoring the two key needs in the FA period but hey, we have fan events like orange out! yay us! volcom69
I’m not to sure there was a Super Bowl window with this defense. I think the offense will find its rythem again, but this defense is trash. Only thing you can hope for is the Bengals out score teams every week. Only way to do that is actually get your star players the ball, throw it down the field more, pass block better. It’s a mess right now. Maybe they need to fix things internally first, seems like a lot of drama there
Stripes
We're on to Kansas City. Everything is on the table if they figure that one out. I have very little hope, because [beyond the Chiefs being very good], the matchup is miserable. Their IOL against our IDL is... awful. AMPHAR
Here we go again. Prime time football week 3 looking to avoid 0-3 to save the season from disaster. The formula to beat them is out there. 2 deep. Rush 4. Grind it out on offense. Franchise tag player sitting on the sidelines. Another WR can't sign the highest WR contract in the league based on structure is a 10 yard average WR. This is why when he asks for a JJ contract you point out he's never produced JJ numbers. Never. Line sucks again. Standard 3 sack game if full effect along with constant pressure off and on again running room.

I believe Burrow makes everyone around him better. Hence why I could care less who is or isn't playing. It's why I'm not the slightest bit stressed about week 1. If he goes into this game with Iosivas, Burton, Jones and Irwin as their 1-4, they should still beat the Patriots. Why? Because I believe Burrow is good enough to make that happen. Week 2? Not so sure about that. I won't be worried about week 2 at this point either though, so still don't care. On second thought. Check down all day. Once again no protection. No points. A whole lot of cap room hung up on that offense and not scoring until the 3rd quarter blows. 3 sacks again. Just the standard around here anymore. glasgowbengal
Pollack needs chased asap. Everything he does with this OL seems to make it worse. Remember, this was the guy that lobbied for the Jackson Carmen pick

TJJackson
I think there is a lot of blame to go around, including Pollack why did the front office not address the loss of DJ Reader? No, the DT they picked up is not a reader replacement, he is a 3TDT same as BJ Hill. Reader is a NT....and a good one Fact of the matter is that we played a running team today without any NTs active/dressed. even though we have two on the PS and didnt elevate either of them I think the 1-10 record in games 1 and 2 in the Zacky boy era says he isnt properly preparing the troops for early season games. and I am being diplomatic when I put it that way. Selfish Diva WR doesnt practice and is ergo ineffective against Patriots. I really, really used to like this guy. I just see him as selfish now, no matter how successful he is after this. You can tell me all ya want how he didnt get his contract extension. Thing is, he is under contract already - this year and next No defensive adjustments to the game they knew they were gonna play. Our D should have been prepared to stop the run. they werent. Thats on the D Coordinator One mystery item was/is Higgins going from "I feel awesome" to out with a hamstring an hour later About the only good thing that has happened so far is our new starting punter and the fact that Carman is gone
volcom69
When asked Jamar said ask the coaches why the lack of balls thrown his way. Yea this is going to be a long ass season with all this drama in this locker room. Not sure anymore who the leaders are, but they better come forward soon and take a hold of this team. TJJackson
You were lucky to get 6 thrown your way, asshat, after basically taking off the entire training camp fuckin dumbass yeah, Im pissed, if you couldnt tell

volcom69
Why does Burrow throw deep in practice and warmup, when in game he only throws it like 5 yards in front of him lol He said they took the long ball away, but is it not coaches responsibility to figure away to reverse that, find away to get guys deep? Is this not something we bitched about last year, maybe the year before. I don’t know maybe it’s soon time to move on from some of these coaches, it’s the same shit all the time. Not sure we will ever get everything out of these players with this coaching staff
HoosierCat
I don’t think there’s much use in trying to assign blame to this or that player or whatever, when this is an issue that transcends who’s on the field. The roster has changed a lot over the past six years, but no matter who is out there, one constant remains: they aren’t ready to play. This is 100% a coach/staff issue, and about the only thing I can say for sure right now is that the problem clearly wasn’t Callahan.
glasgowbengal
Chase’s post game locker room comments are an embarrassment. A complete refusal to take responsibility for anything.
ArmyBengal
You can’t turn the ball over that much no matter who you play. Certainly can’t do that in the redzone and then let them go down the field and put point on the board. You can’t open the game by consistently going 3 and out, thinking you are just going to get back in it. You can’t stress (yet again) starting fast and look that fucking lost when on the field. Pollack should have been done last year. Said it many times last year that you can’t spend that much on free agency and in draft picks and get next to nothing in return. It’s going to wreck this season again. Anarumo won’t be sniffing head coaching gigs in the future if this continues either. How do you give up 170 rushing? Oh yeah, this is tackle football. Could you please fucking tackle ?? Jesus this team is a fucking killjoy. Joe lead the fucking team.
ArmyBengal
Yeah it was great watching the Texans win the game today and Mixon having a good game. I was really happy for him. He looked stronger than in seasons past. Took big hits and kept getting up and getting after it. You know, what the Bengals didn’t do today. COB
If we’re waiting for ownership to hold this coaching staff accountable, we’re going to be waiting a long time. Marvin basically tried to fire himself when he declined and Mike wouldn’t let him, made various changes to get him to stay. Hard to be enthusiastic about this team when we see the same weaknesses year after year and nothing changes.
