On a side note, while could care less if people smoke weed, I don’t care for the smell. Honestly it gives me a headache.

That being said, you can’t walk around anywhere down there without being overwhelmed by that smell.

If it’s not that, it was the insane amount of drunks. The lady next to me brought in a bottle of crown and proceeded to kill it between her and her friend. Two wasted drunk bitches that were so obnoxious, my son was asking me if he could punch them in the face.

Anyway, outside of them losing, that the worst experience I’ve had in the stadium in quite some time.

The inability of the defense to stop the Ravens offense is the biggest let down for me.     The offense started slow but a 81 yard punt return stunted their yards in combination of the Ravens being able to hold on to the ball.

But there are 4 offensive drives when the D is failing like that they probably needed TDs on 2 of them.   Its easy to say after the fact but I was thinking Lou's unit would eventually would get stops in the 2nd half they didn't.

1. 3 and out - after missed FG.

2. 7-10, settled for 3.  Ball ripped out of Chase's hands stopping a TD.   Tied 10-10.

Defense can't hold 10-13.

3. Probably the killer - Int at the goal line.   Defense then allows a quick TD.  10-20.

4. Late 2nd half punt - needed something on that drive.

But the Bengals couldn't get off blocks, probably a fair amount of holding going on.  The Ravens were called for some.  Every time the D got a sack there seemed to be a penalty on them.  Lamar found holes underneath in their zone coverage.   Horrible day defensively, IMO.   Reminded me of the Jets game a couple years ago.  Offense, people love to talk about it and it was not statistically great but you if you get stops and feed them the ball back they would have run up more yards/points.    Critical mistake was that goal line INT, followed by a Lamar Jackson bomb.

If you ranked my top three most obnoxious,  most hammered, most drunk/high/both binges, they would all involve a pro sports event or venue. Specifically a Reds game (that night ended in a Monte Carlo flipped upside dow and smashed into a telephone pole), a Jets game (you think those bitches were wasted you should have seen me that day) and a Dead concert at Giants stadium ( I will do time in hell for my actions that day I’m sure).

Something about stadiums just brings out the drunks. And the worst in me. Which is why I don’t go anymore.

Yeah, I already have tickets for the Rams, Seahawks and Texans.  A couple of those are with military buddies coming into town.  Hopefully those games are a little less stupid than yesterday's game was.  I'm sure there's a bit to do with me being older, but the crowds seemingly get dumber and dumber.  The drugs and alcohol aren't helping the matter.

It’s always been that way - we are just the middle aged guys now with a bit more composure

Man there seems to be more and more fights at these games, just saw a man died at the Pats game when a Dolphins fan punched him and guess he hit his head on the concrete. It’s getting stupid anymore, I know there have always been fights but man it’s just a freaking game, just terrible to see.

People dying at a football game because they get into a fight is just ridiculous.

Typically, when I sit down I look around to see if there are opposing fans around me.  There were two dudes in Ravens jerseys close by Sunday and I spoke to them, wished them luck and told them I like to yell at the other team.  We were all joking with each other and I made the comment that while I don't like the Ravens, don't take what I say personal.  They all were pretty much the same way and through the game, we never had any concerns.  My concerns were with the obnoxious Bengals fans around us just completely wasted and high.  While I have always seen drunk people at the games, there seem to be more and the use of drugs is something that is now everywhere.

It's whatever, I'm old.  I will probably just limit things after this year if that's how this season continues when at the stadium.

Last year Cleveland Brown Fan passed out in his seat at Paycor.  His condition made its way to social media.  That then revealed other people had pictures of him sleeping on the streets that night.   Then those pictures revealed he was a regular at Cleveland Brown Stadium and constant problem for that security group.

Its not an age thing.  Behavior has gotten worse.    My theory is, if a fan similar to the one above goes to a bar.  They can't survive.  They'll get noticed faster and removed faster.     Fans with substance abuse issues go to these stadiums because their behavior is less noticeable.    The mix of these fans represent a greater percentage of attendance than in the past.

Unfortunate for that poor soul his love of Browns was mixed with alcohol and he can't separate the two.  Thus black out drinking is what happens.

If you are a fan that loves to fight and get pissed off because you have emotional issues.  You are not surviving in a bar.  You'll piss somebody off faster and be removed.  NFL stadium, those issues can carry on for a while and most the time aren't resolved until the line is crossed.

My point to saying "I'm old" is simply that I no longer wish to deal with stupid shit.
However, the behavior noted has certainly increased and while hearing people say, "It's always been that way", I simply disagree.  I can recall going to games and never smelling weed and fights rarely, if ever, happened.  Now (see this past Sunday) you have to redirect your kids around the piles of vomit on the sidewalks, in bathrooms and concession lines.  No one cleans it up either.  The fan experience they put so much into, does not seem to take that into consideration.

Yeah, I can see that.

I've always through there were a couple other contributing factors. One is the tailgating culture that has grown up around sporting events and particularly NFL games. It's all about getting to the stadium as soon as the lots open and pounding beers until game time. There are some pretty simple ways to stop this but teams don't seem to have any interest in doing so.

The second, related issue I think is the stupid high cost of a beer at your average sports venue. It encourages people to get hammered before the game (and so contributes to the tailgate issue) or sneak in their own alcohol (usually high-proof spirits like Army cites) and you end up with a far more liquored-up crowd than you would have if beers were five bucks and they quit selling after the half.

Unfortunately,  abuse of tailgating is a cause.    So many issues before and after the game.

I doubt NFL ever ceases alcohol sales but that would cut out a lot of problematic fans, IMO.

Anything NFL does is going burden the majority of fans that can go to the game and enjoy several drinks without incident.

I think NFL should explore home/away policies.   For the longest time I've though "Terrible Towels" should be banned, they just cause so many problems.   Steeler fans love to wave them in your face and Bengal fans love to jerk them out of pockets and stomp.

They should do what they do here in Europe. Set aside a particular section only for away fans (up in the nosebleeds, out of the way), which is segregated from the home crowd. Only sell tix for that area via the visiting teams.

Doesn’t solve the issue of home fans fighting amongst themselves but would put a stop to a lot of the shit that goes on right now.

If fans mixed in stadiums over here there would be full on, mass participation, riots every weekend. It would be carnage!!

Last two NFL games -

in Cleveland a drunk fan beside us picked my (disposable) camera up off the concrete, took pics with it and wouldn’t give it back.  I had to take it back, the cops got involved.  They moved us to an area that they keep available for such situations.  Saw a fight there about ten rows in front of us.

In cinci - the buffalo game when FITZ magic destroyed us in the 2nd half, the Terrell Owens year.  A drunk fan named Rob meant well, but would not stop slurring a bunch of shit to my 7 or 8 year old son.  Again, we end up getting moved by stadium security, this time to a pretty good area they keep reserved for handicapped fans.

In summary - I can only get along with other nfl fans if they are all in wheelchairs.

I bought a ticket from Mem a year or two ago, but didn’t make it to the game.  I’m a non drinker and live a sober life, NFL stadiums are not for me.

Wow I have not seen any of that near my section - I do see people really trashed some

Bears game - years back … Bengals are up something like 42 -3 , and the Bears fan in front of my group starts intentionally holding a huge flag up to block our views -  he had been at this from the start but by the 4th he started really fucking with us …. This guy was like a thin, pencil-pushing paralegal look, not the typical guy to be messing around - but he was at it and nonstop .   Finally, I grabbed the damn flag and threw it down and told him enough of the taunting and shit.  Then , he shouts terroristic threatening over and over , security shows up , and the cops escort me out of the seats to the halls and say I can’t go back in but he’ll watch the final 15 minutes with me from the corridor then let me go. Cool cop - but a dick dude from Chicago
