Stripes Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Burrow is being forced to throw into super tight windows too since the Browns have little fear of the deep ball with that offensive line playing like this. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 How is this defense THIS bad????? Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Game, set, match. One of the worst defensive performances I've seen from any Bengals' team. That's saying something. Pathetic. Quote
Stripes Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Don't think Mayfield threw a pass on that drive. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 18, 2020 Author Report Posted September 18, 2020 Oh good i can go to bed. Goodnight all. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Hopefully Higgins is ok Quote
Stripes Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Good chance Burrow has broken the franchise record for pass attempts in a game. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Great TD catch by Boyd, 30 points despite this o-line, 3 passing TD's, no INT's. Mostly dink-and-dunk. Not bad. Quote
Stripes Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Behind that line, with 61 pass attempts, Burrow did not throw an interception. How about that. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 They cannot let Burrow get hit that much going forward, he had the dirtiest uniform out there. He also has no time to look downfield, no one is op;en, he is sneaking balls into guys left and right on the run. If he continues to get hit that much, I'd consider benching him in blow out losses (or wins if that ever happens under Taylor again). Quote
TJJackson Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Not gonna win consistently without a decent line - and we are well short of decent After two games, I am confident we made the right choice in r1.....but again, if you make said investment, you GOTTA GOTTA GOTTA protect it and we of course didnt 1 Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Yep, this can't continue or be tolerated: Quote

AMPHAR Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Disappointing the defense was so bad. D-line just got pushed around. O-line sucks. Burrow is very impressive. It's amazing how close this game was despite getting dominated on both lines. Glad to see Sample show up. There's no easy solution for this line. Fred Johnson struggled big time at RG. They must not have faith in Price. Hart sucks. I just hope the franchise doesn't get hurt. Quote

I am starting to see a little summin summin from Sample, even in week 1. I saw at least one example of him getting nasty in the run blocking game tonight too. Unfortunately nobody else did. Quote
AMPHAR Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Zach has had a lot of close losses. I hope the switch flips soon. Quote
cincy9275 Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Zac is not smart enough to get Hart off the damn field. I've seen enough of Zac. His ignorance is going to get Burrow hurt. Then Lou stop the gimmicky bs! 5 players in the box yet wonders why the Browns gashed his defense for 216 yards rushing.???? Quote
volcom69 Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Joe Burrow is incredible The rest of the team is meh, I don’t see any difference between other years and this year. Zac Taylor is still up in the air for me I just hope he gets better at some point. Quote
AMPHAR Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 D-line simply can't get off blocks and force stalemates like the past 3 years. Not good. If this Defense can not become decent then we've got huge issues because you can't focus All available resources on fixing the o-line. Burrow is awesome and glad we got him but they need to find some damn draft picks in the top 100 or Burrow is out of here. We don't have a 3 year window to fix this, IMO. Quote

HoosierCat Posted September 18, 2020 Author Report Posted September 18, 2020 This game reminded me of the old Christmas novelty song “Didn’t I Get This Last Year?“ Porous lines on both sides of the ball, LBs who can’t tackle, a QB running for his life each time the ball is snapped, etc. Some of the names have changed but the song remains the same. I agree that the coaching staff ought to be feeling some heat right now, but this being Cincy I doubt they are. 1 Quote
