Stripes Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell sounds like a top five safety tandem. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Holy shit indeed. I guess I just forgot the guy was still out there. Nice job !! 1 Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Why would I complain about actually signing an upgrade at S and LB? It's like someone gave MB the Coronavirus and put him isolation. It's not as if they EVER do this shit, but hell yeah I'll give 'em credit - especially a former Buckeye with remaining upside, and hopefully no more Shawn Williams (who sucks, I don't care what anyone says, he's a poor man's LB). Aside from maybe a DE and another LB or CB, it seems the entire draft is going to be offense... Quote
AMPHAR Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Bengals taking this Free Agency stuff to heart! I'm in shock! Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 25, 2020 Author Report Posted March 25, 2020 $18 million for Bell. Cheap. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 So Williams to Nickle LB maybe? Wouldn’t surprise me and might actually be a good thing. I just wonder what for defense they will be running. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 If they move Williams to LB, with the intent of him being one of the nickel LBs and/or the sole dime LB, I am a LOT happier with FA If they keep him at S, far less so Little worried about the fact that Bynes is an ILB (in a 3-4) and Pratt played MLB - Pratt was basically the only good news at LB last year. who moves outside? not optimal no matter which one moves Quote
volcom69 Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Are the bengals going to play more 3-4 or are they staying 4-3 that’s what I’m wondering. Guess time will tell. Quote
Stripes Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 I think they're just both at this point, and the variance is basically wherever Carl Lawson lines up. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 26, 2020 Report Posted March 26, 2020 Now Zac’s task is to NOT be like the Browns where you win the offseason and not have it translate on the field. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted March 26, 2020 Report Posted March 26, 2020 It’s a big reason I say they still need to take their shots with LB’s in the draft. I don’t see any additions to this point that solve that problem long term. I like what they’ve done and am not complaining at all. I still would argue that LB is a big need for building this team for more than a season. 1 Quote
