Ross begins his new career of competing with Eifert for the best seat in the trainers office

Doesn't appear to be the case. Ross came back out, though he didn't go back in the game. Afterwards in the locker room there was no sign of a problem, no crutches, not even an ice wrap. He said it felt fine. They're doing an MRI today, so we'll see.

Just watched the 2nd half of the Colts game.

As you probably know, the NFL changed the rules.  The cutdown from 90 to 53 used to take place before the final game, so you used to see depth players from the actual final roster.

This year the rule was changed.  Teams play the 4th preseason game with their 90 man roster, cut down to 53 man rosters occurs later.

End result?  Guys who are likely cut in a day or two get one last chance to put something on tape as they desperately try to latch on somewhere for a rewarding 20 month career bouncing around on practice squads and CFL rosters.

It sucked.  It was dull.  The NFL is so stagnant, so lacking in imagination or innovation, so chained to a revenue stream that they're afraid to mess with, that they serve up a big platter of shit and expect their mouth-breathing, MAGA hat-wearing fan base to eat it up like it's prime rib.  The NFL thinks it's fans are Randy Marsh and his cast of drunken "Theytukerjerbs!" dimwits.  They are wrong.

Much like the Pro Bowl people complain but they watch.    The preseason still exist because a ton of people watch it and the numbers that do watch, out draw most of any other TV programming offered.

Preseason games are much more about sustaining those TV events/revenue vs. getting your team prepared or evaluating personnel.   At one point that might have been the case but now it's TV money and TV needs it because they don't have anything else that can draw viewers like that.

Just got The SI NFL preview issue.  They cracked us for installing Ogbuehi at LT, ragged on Andy for his poor movement in the pocket, called Eric Winston washed up, said Dunlap disappears during games, dogged Guenther for blitzing less than any other DC last year, ranked Andy as the 338th best player in the league, behind a total of 13, yes, 13, Pittsburgh Steelers, predicted we'd win 5 games this year, and, finally, picked us 3rd in the division behind the almost completely broken down Ravens.

Tell us how you really feel, anonymous SI writer!

Can I sit here right now and think this team is going to win the AFC North or the Super Bowl ?? Nope, but the thing is as the season goes they may start to gel, win games, and put it together.

Im just saying when considering the talent this team DOES have, then having a really good season wouldn't be all that surprising.

Agreed.  If their O-line finds it, this team could win 10 or 11 games.

Their OC needs to be better, Alexander needs to be better, Marvin needs to be better.

Though one could argue that Marvin's chance to be better was partly squandered when he determined that the 2017 OC and line coach would be Zampese and Alexander, respectively.
