HoosierCat Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 According to Florio, NFL teams are not convinced that Teo is not gay and that they're trying to discern that before deciding on whether to draft him. Basically a lot of teams would be hesitant to bring in an opening gay guy and the ensuing baggage that'd entail. />http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/02/25/florio-nfl-teams-want-to-know-if-manti-teo-is-gay/Somewhere on that great gridiron in the sky, Paul Brown glances down, shakes his head sadly, then calls a handoff to Marion Motley. membengal Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I don't care if he's gay or not. My issue is he is slowish, can't hold the point of attack, and gets run over by size. That's a problem. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 I don't care if he's gay or not either, but that could obviously play into what happens in a team locker room. While it might not be MY issue, there's nothing saying it wouldn't be someone elses.Right or wrong (see wrong) that is the fact of the matter. All that aside, when he had the chance to shine, he wilted. Then he follows it up with a 4.8 40 ??Just move Burfict to the middle, find a new OLB, and don't think about Teo. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 He looked slow in all the drills, he does not move his hips very well and he ran a very slow time in the 40. If he is hanging around in the 4th or 5th, take a flyer but nothing higher than that. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 The Bengals will draft him when he falls into the 2nd. And he'll be terrible. The guy's an enigma but has red flags popping up left and right. Perfect Bengals fodder. They need to get serious about their LB's and Safeties, the guys on their roster are all sub par players and always will be (sans Burfict). Follow the Balt/Pitt model and build a great D around a day-one-drafted o-line and a few high talent TD grabbers. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Teo sucks and reminds me of the Maualuga pick, but worse. At least Maualuga was thought to be a heck of a pick when he fell to us.Teo wouldn't be that. He was good to above average against mediocre talent and poor against top competition.I have heard people say, "well he went against the best o-line in that Championship game".Well what the hell do they think is he going to have to face in the NFL ??I see a future of getting washed out of most plays in his future. No, I don't want anything to do with him in any round. We just resigned a better version of him, so lets move in another direction.Safety ?? Yeah, i'm totally down with that thought !!! Quote
Wraith Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I can me a number of LBers I would rather have than Te'o based off his tape. I also don't want Ogletree because I don't want another Odell situation and they sound eerily similar.I have Dion Jordan and Jarvis Jones 1a and 1b from an OLB perspective, followed by Barkevious Mingo, Khaseem Greene, Arthur Brown and Sio Moore.I have Kevin Reddick, Kevin Minter, Kiko Alonso, Alec Ogletree, and then Manti Te'o. jjakq27 Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Pre-Lenea, I'd say Manti was a solid mid-first rounder to mid-second rounder depending on need. However, throw in the baggage and he might drop all the way to the third. I think he will be an average to slightly above average NFL player but he's got a lot to deal with starting his career. I think Manti coverage will rival that of Tim Tebow next year. MTV..all-Manti, al the time. Quote
membengal Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 The only good thing about the mauluga re-signing is if it keeps Teo from being drafted. Quote
