bwillycuse Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Remember in 2008 when Carson said this?...Asked if he thought the same coaching staff could turn it from being stale, Palmer said, “I don’t think so,” but he also said he doesn’t know if Lewis will make those changes.…“We need a lot of changes,” said Palmer, who did respond to a question about discipline, a subject he has often discussed.“When you look at the most successful teams in this league, they’re very disciplined,” Palmer said. “And we’re obviously not one of the most successful teams. I don’t think we’re the most disciplined team and that’s definitely an area we need to improve on.” Sure sounds like he's irritated with Bratkowski. I agree with him. It's a lack of discipline that hurts this offense more than anything elseCarson disciplined?Thats funny
Kazkal Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I'd take jake locker in a heartbeat,. If he is there in the 2nd round,.. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He hadNO weapons in washington. Give him some weapons on offense and maybe some better oline play and he'll be a very good player for usYup I'd like Locker alot and would have taken him in the 2nd round even before this Drama...I don't think he'd last to our 2nd pick I think Theres a strong Chance Seattle could take him in the 1st being he's a local kid and pete has seen him play plenty...Even if they resign Matt Hassleback they need a viable backup.
bwillycuse Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 And another thing. If this rumor is true.Cut Jordan immediately.
Kazkal Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 And another thing. If this rumor is true.Cut Jordan immediately.I'd wait...WOuld be pretty funny if some how he ended up the starter and had probowl season

volcom69 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 All of this is a slap in the face to fans, its bullcrap. The more i think about it the more it pi**es me off!!!! Palmer was just as much of a problem as everyone else on this team. Noboby asked Palmer to throw into triple coverage all the time, its a joke he is as big of a problem as everyone else is.Sure this management sucks, but they are not the ones out there throwing pick 6 all the time. If Palmer was such a leader who would have tried to light a fire under this team when the WR were dropping passes, or complaining when they didnt get the ball. So if you ask me Palmer has no right to bi*ch about anything, just shut up and play the game.

cincyhokie Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I'd almost guarantee this has to do with the lack of changes in the coaching staff primarily Brat. Palmer had a relatively strong finish at the end of the year and showed no signs of quitting. This is all about the lack of needed change which is represented by Brat staying.I don't blame him one bit. He's going to be 31 and entering the last years of his career. He owes this town and team nothing. Also, it's not like we haven't seen players leave before. We know the constant in this equation. It's the Brown family. Carson simply wants to win. This isn't about money. The man wants to win and I can't blame him for wanting change. If anything this is GOOD for getting Mike F'n Brown to wake the f**k up and make some changes. It's sad it's come down to this but I'm looking at MB in this situation, not Carson.
Kazkal Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Well Benson Said he didn't want to come back if Brat was.Carson Doesn't want to return,Which could because of Brat.Marvin Wants to keep Benson and more then likely CarsonSo wouldn't it make sense to Fire Brat?

HoosierCat Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Doc:Carson Palmer calling Bengals' bluff?Trade demand might force changes Brown, Lewis unwilling to makeCINCINNATI -- When The Franchise says he wants out, you can’t paper over your issues, the way the Bengals have so far this offseason. Marvin Lewis can’t “fix us’’ when Us says he’d rather retire than play again for the misguided local 11.This is so unlike Carson Palmer, you wonder what’s real and what’s posing. ESPN has reported Palmer wants to be traded and if he isn’t, will retire. How bad is it really down at PBS when the quarterback suggests that retiring is a better option than returning to play for the Bengals?Rome-on-the-Ohio burns. Lewis and Mike Brown fiddle. When it comes to Bengals earthquakes, this is as seismic as it gets. This isn’t the wide receiver formerly known as Johnson, conducting an offseason trade-me blitz in the media. It was easy for Brown to call Eight-Five’s bluff. This is Carson Palmer, Great Soldier, who has never popped off publicly, whose only lobbying has been behind the scenes, in the offseason, for the good of all. There’s also the matter of Palmer being QB1. Like him or not, Nine is so clearly No. 1 on the depth chart, No. 2 isn’t even on the board.Given Palmer’s demeanor and personality, the Bengals have to take him seriously. What his motivation is, is a mystery. It doesn’t matter. You think things were dreadful last fall? Imagine next fall, without Nine.More:/>http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110123/COL03/301230012
cincyhokie Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 In the grand scheme of things this is great news if you are a fan. Palmer won't be around forever regardless. His call for a trade could actually make changes. There's a good chance nothing will change, but of all the things to get MB to open his ears...this might be it.
membengal Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I remain delighted by this turn of events, and wish Carson luck in either forcing change or getting out.
cincyhokie Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I remain delighted by this turn of events, and wish Carson luck in either forcing change or getting out.I agree. I am loving this.
volcom69 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I can only hope that change is coming, whatever that might be.
fattyjay Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I really can't believe those of you that are banging on Palmer. I mean give me a break. The ONLY guy out there every Sunday giving his all and taking more than his share of the blame for the mess that this season was?!?!?! IMO if you are clamoring for Carson's head or thinking this will be a good move then good luck rooting for this sorry excuse for a franchise for the next 10-20 years as they continually fail. If the team is so bad that #9 isn't willing to stay and keep working then that shows me I need to root for another team. The guy has been nothing but a class act and the ultmiate cometitor. He is the only reason the team has ever had a chance to win since he took over as the starter. The other piece of the Carson hating I can't believe is when I read a story about him having to clean up trash (and other digusting things) from his front yard. How classless are the people in Cincy that they do this to the team leader that has never uttered a bad word about the city or his teammates? Glad I don;t live there anymore as it would be an embarrassment that I would not endure.Godd luck Bengals, I'm done!
HoosierCat Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I can't blame Carson for wanting out, any more than I could blame Pickens, Dillon, Takeo or Chad.
HoosierCat Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 An update from Hobs:MOBILE, Ala. – The Bengals began coaching the Senior Bowl Sunday night under a mushroom cloud.Shortly after touching down here Sunday afternoon the Bengals were made aware of Chris Mortensen's report on ESPN that quarterback Carson Palmer wants to be traded, or he'll contemplate retirement. Texts and calls to Palmer and agent David Dun weren't returned as of Sunday evening and the Bengals had no comment. No one from Palmer's camp denied the report after it surfaced Sunday morning and the Bengals could meet with Dunn here this week. He represents Washington quarterback Jake Locker, the top quarterback for the North team the Bengals are coaching.More:/>http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Report-Palmer-wants-out-starts-Senior-week/4b6f71eb-e6e8-4692-a9fd-c583474d01a5I thought the Palmer-Dunn-Locker connection was interesting. With Palmer not talking, you have to think that Dunn is the source, or at least one of them. And he stands to cash in on both ends of the deal if Palmer is traded and gets a new deal (which would be almost certain in a trade scenario) and then the Bengals pick up Locker.Plot. Thickens.

There is no reason why he had to come out like this. If has a problem or want changes, then maybe he should have had a meeting with Marvin and Mike, instead of saying what he did. If the bengals didnt give him what he wanted, then fine ask for a trade or whatever. So yea it pi**es me off that he came out this way and did it.Palmer is just as much to blame, as everyone is on this team, so he needs to shut up and just play!!! He went about this all wrong, unless he is doing this to get change this way????
