Sea Ray
My sky will be falling with a loss. With our schedule, we can't fall 2 back.I'm thinking all we need to do is get out of the gate 2-2.
COB
There's not a Bengals fan on this board who didn't come away from watching Sunday's debacle with a feeling of dread. Try to spin it this way and that, but when when I see a football team getting beat up front like that, optimism for the future isn't what comes to mind. HairOnFire
Then again, i could be totally wrong. That seems unlikely due to your habit of not really saying anything definitively. I mean, I actually predicted that the bengals defense would have no chance of stopping the Patriots' offense last week...Oh wait a minute...i was right about that... Good for you. Then again, all I remember is your thread about how bad the Bengals punter is.

HoosierCat
I saw the Ravens team I expected to see last night. With Rice to carry the rock and a bagful of possession guys, Baltimore has all the ingredients for a dink & dunk style offense. The problem is that means you need to execute 12-15 plays a drive to score, offering plenty of opportunities for bad things to happen.I wasn't overly impressed by the Ravens' offensive line but I also have little doubt that they'll look a lot better versus us.Flacco was all over the board and it didn't seem related much to whether he was under pressure (if anything he seemed to do better when the heat was on but that's just an impression). It also seemed like the more open one of his receivers was, the worse his throw was.TJ looked like TJ to me. Heap will probably give the D fits, too.Defensively it's hard for me to say. The Jets never really tested Balti's suspect secondary. LT had a couple good runs late, over the right side IIRC. That was our strong running side last season, so maybe there's some hop there if Bob "ha ha watch me fool those Pats by running over the left side!" Bratkowski has learned his lesson. And that seems to be the case around here.Something to consider...The bengals' last two games hve been against the jets and patriots. They were dominated in both. The ravens' last two wins have come against, guess who... the jets and patriots...each game on the road, no less. All I heard leading up to this game was how the patriots weren't the same team and how the bengals should be favored. Pats had a weak defense, etc... Now some guy is trying to claim that the patriots are a much better team than the ravens right now, so we should win on sunday. We beat the Ravens the last two times we played them. From the games I saw, the Pats are better than the Ravens(Though the Pats D is not as good) - But that is a one week snapshot.Again the Ravens had several turnovers yesterday, received very favorable calls that lead directly to more points, first downs on 3rd and long. Totaled 280 yards for the game on 70 plays. Defense looked fast though, but we usually are able to handle that.So i assume you pick a loss? Just make up your mind You always seem to be quoting or arguing with or proclaiming victory over "some guy". What's up with that? As for the whole just make up your mind thing?. You first. Seriously, call the outcome of Ravens/Bengals matchup right now using either your vague Bengals aren't worth a crap rant or the companion one where you dismiss their ability to routinely kick the butts of any team they're overly familiar with. MOBengal
I, for one, am going into this game as if it is week 1. I don't think the Bengals are as bad as they looked on Sunday and I don't think Flacco and the Ravens are as bad as they looked on Monday (yeah, they won, but they didn't look good). I think this game will be a good indication of how the season will go for the Bengals. These are two teams that are very familiar with each other and know what to expect. The ass kicking from Sunday will hopefully wake the coaches and the players up to what they need to do to get back to where we were last season. I'm expecting to see a lot of running the ball with some shots down the field. On defense, I'm expecting them to try something radically different from the Pats game--tackling the guy that has the ball.I'm still optimistic about this season, but if we don't come away with a win on Sunday, that could change fast. Actually TJ did just as much grabbing and pulling as the DB..on a couple plays he initiated the contact. The hold when Ravens were backed up to their one on 3rd down wasn't a penalty or extremely ticky tack. But we aren't hearing any Ravens fans say the refs are picking on them this week though.Ravens were very fortunate last night. volcom69
I think the main thing in this game is the defense. If the defense does not improve, if they give Flacco all day like they did Brady he will pick the Bengals apart. Right now im not sure what to think, do we really have the defense front to create the pressure this team needs? I dont get it there has not been any changes in the defense, but they still sucked. This game will come down to if the Bengals defense gets physical, and plays much better then last week.On offense they play physical as well, win at the point of attack and get some push! I think the Ravens have a very good team, now i dont think there the best in the league, but they looked good. Boldin is going to be tough to cover, and i thought TJ looked pretty good.Well all i can hope is somehow Zimmer can fix the defense. I dont feel real confident in him right now after his comments saying he didnt know what to do. He had months to prepare for the Pats and the defense looked like that. Back to the basics is where the defense is going.

Arizona
1. Baltimore is not a big market east coast team. The reason we all walk around with an inferiority complex in Baltimore is b/c everyone thinks we're a truck stop between DC and Philly. Don't care to look it up, but I bet Baltimore is similar in size to Cincinatti, with other large cities only about an hour away in a couple of directions.2. One game is not enough to be certain of anything. Is the Pats offense that good or is your D suspect? I think the former. Is the Jets Defense that good or is the Ravens O suspect? Again, I think the former. I worry about your offense as I think the Pats D is just not that good. I believe in the Ravens run D, but the passing D was barely tested on Monday night. It's funny we are switching opponents this week. We will learn a lot about both of our teams.Of course I expect a Ravens win, probably by 4 or 7.
