What happened that had Joe Mixon getting death threats? What was so bad that had him open carrying a weapon in his backyard? We aren't talking about there being a multitude of homes where you don't see people coming and going. These are large private homes and yards. There is one way in and one way out of where his home is located. He has every right to carry however, so I'm not questioning that.

Not like they were going to get Carter on vehicular homicide or something. He was facing misdemeanor charges, so none of that is surprising. What IS surprising is how he has seemingly collapsed under all the pressure between his personal situation and the run up to the draft. Couldn't do anything at the Combine and really didn't do much at his pro day. What he did do, didn't go well. I'm with Hoosier or whoever said he would give them pause even at #28. We can't afford a swing and miss at #28 this season in particular.

I root for Carman, despite thinking he's not a good person. I can set that aside when rooting for the laundry. That being said, I will give him credit for the Bills playoff game last year. It was fun watching him muscle his will on the Bills defense. However, that was the only time he's done that with consistency. Him getting beat out for the starting LG spot by a 4th round rookie from North Dakota, should have lit a fire under his ass. I'm still rooting for him to get better, but he's not a better option than any of those players ahead of him at any o-line position.

I couldn't make it past the 4th page. Must still be pissed giving up a 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th and then watching him walk while taking far less. Maybe he simply didn't like playing there. Reid must have ignored Darnell Washington at TE like I did initially. If there is a TE target, that guy moved to my #1 quickly. He can catch, but has the size and strength of another o-lineman to block. YES PLEASE !!

So AT THIS POINT, it's definitely Brown at LT and Williams at RT. Obviously that could change. I have never hated on Williams, but couldn't see paying him the money he will get as a starting LT. Having him move to the RT spot is FAR more appealing then having Carman "compete" for that spot. If Williams leaves in 2024, we still have Collins (minus them letting him go due to injury) through that season and allows for some breathing room. Locking down Burrow's blindside for the next 4 years with one of the best at his position for the price of Bates is like hitting the lottery two or three times.

I really wanted to keep Bell and Perine. No way around that. I think those losses hurt, but money talks. This is clearly the case in each of these instances. The draft and rookie wage scale makes it easier for teams to move on. I don’t really blame the team for how they have approached it.

I think because the Bengals knew if even they happen to use their first round pick on a TE, it would be a 4 year deal, with a 5th year option that would pay less than what Hurst just got for 3 years.

Maybe, maybe not TJ. Jonah is definitely moving to RT and I don’t have a concern with that. He covers however long Collins is out and when Collins is ready, he may be the better option and is currently signed through 2024. I’m not giving up on him yet. If a guy like Kancey is there at 28, he does more for the pass rush next to Reader than a rookie RT that may not see the field.

Here’s the perspective I love seeing. The Bengals signed Brown for the same amount Bates got on his deal. Regardless of ANYTHING else, that is a fucking huge win for the Bengals no matter how you look at it.

I’m in total shock. I totally expected him to reset the market with a deal from Chicago. Getting him on that deal is simply unreal. Explains why they haven’t been worrying about Perine, Hurst and company. They were busy frying the bigger fish. Kudos to the front office for pulling this off. Frees up the draft, covers Collins not being ready and protects having to over pay Jonah as a free agent next year. Simply brilliant move that hurts rivals !!

And the value !!! The Chiefs just paid Jawaan Taylor 80 million for 4 years and he can’t hold Brown’s jock.

Whatever words can be uttered that results in them staying and getting paid will be uttered. When those words don't equate to a contract, players move. That's how I view it. Money still trumps most by all appearances.
