  1. Lions knock off the Chiefs. Yes, that makes me happy !!
  2. At least until the next QB extension. In 3 years the deal will be a bargain.
  3. A lot of good that’s done Cleveland. Despite “owning” him, they haven’t sniffed the playoffs. I guess that’s their win. Well done Clowns.
  4. Ok everyone can take a breath now. On to Higgins !!
  5. The thing with this team from my perspective is, they never really seem out of a game. Looking back at last year, minus the game at Cleveland, all their other losses were 3 points or less to include the AFCCG. The 19 point loss in Cleveland last year was more than all the other losses combined (8). So I agree that while they may lose, it will still be a close game. A conference win on the road, with everything else they are facing, would be huge for them starting the season.
  6. Seemingly I am aging at an accelerated rate these days despite having teenagers in the house. For every year that goes by, I feel I am aging five. I pretty much hate everyone and everything I see in the world today. Totally counterproductive to doing things which would lead to a happy life. Pretty much "Get off my lawn" x10... This week marks the true full on football season, so things are looking up: Sunday: Pro Football all day and night Monday: Monday Night Football Tuesday: Watch highlights / fantasy football Wednesday: Watch more highlights / fantasy football Thursday: Thursday Night Football Friday: High School Football Saturday: College Football all day and night Just reading that reduces the "Get off my lawn" effect by half.
  7. Typically this would be one of those, "Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst", but I'm not really expecting the worst. It just wouldn't surprise me all that much. Then again, neither would a win so there's that.
  8. You aren't the only one Mem. Burrow is saying all the right things and said he's in a better place heading into week 1 than any year before that, but he hasn't gotten any game reps with the new pieces to the offense. The o-line is going to have to play lights out to give Burrow enough time to work. Then the defense will have to really step up as well. I'm not all doom and gloom, but there are concerns for sure.
  9. My wife just bought a power washer for our driveway, because for some reason she thought that would be a better idea than hiring someone else to do that shit. Maybe Ogbuehi will give a discount if he can use my equipment...
  10. This front office has given me plenty of reasons to not doubt the process at this point. We can cross the 2024 bridge when we have to.
  11. That's why I said even more. The amount of unrestricted free agents next year is staggering. There will definitely be some decisions to make. The draft certainly helps. The player everyone should be saying goodbye to is Tyler Boyd in my opinion. After Higgins and Chase get done, I don't see them investing that much in the WR corps when it appears they drafted replacements. Shame really, because he's one of my favorite players. Maybe we can send him on his way after winning it all with us.
  12. I don't know why, but I just never have given much thought to Burrow's deal. I always just assumed it would get done and still do. I still don't think there's much to discuss about it really. I want it done as much as the next guy, but it's coming. Maybe Friday when news like that seems to happen if it's truly close. I think I'm more concerned with the after effects of his contract. How does his contract impact the team's ability to do more? Higgins needs to be addressed and then they have Chase's deal coming up in the offseason to handle. Sure there are tags and such, but I don't want to see them go down that road unless there's simply nothing else. In that case, like seemingly every other time a tag was used, you can start saying your goodbyes. What happens with guys like Reader, Awuzie, and even more?
  13. I have to admit that I was not happy with the last play of the AFCCG when Ossai hit Mahomes out of bounds. My son and I walked back to the car cold and angry. I didn't say much until I got to the car and I exploded. I was so fucking angry with that play I just couldn't stand it. Of course, you move on and keep rooting for guys. If you haven't seen the recent interview with Ossai, this is well worth your 10 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pJdtXV5jaI
  14. Yes, just win. Stay healthy and win.
  15. Couldn’t agree more with ALL of this.
  16. That’s my guess as well. I honestly had no idea who that dude was before the preseason started. **Shrug**
  17. Morrison made a good point as well in that maybe Johnson is considering a team that isn’t so stacked and he has a better path to more playing time. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  18. I agree with you there Hoosier. Maybe they didn’t think Ossai’s injury was that severe at the time and made the decision they had to make. Just looked and nothing new on Johnson to this point. Hopefully they move quick to rectify and place Ossai on the PUP and get Johnson back.
  19. Puts the thought of him holding out or this being tied to his contract to bed.
  20. Can someone explain how QB Quinn Evers is considered a top of the first prospect? Dude hasn’t completed a full season as a starter. WTF !?!?
  21. That practice squad has some talent on it. Wouldn’t surprise me to see some get poached at one time or another.
  22. Interesting. I remember Grier when he was playing at West Virginia. Lost track of him once coming into the league.
  23. I’ve seen at least a handful of former Bengals getting the axe from other teams as well. None I would want to bring back, just noticing.
  24. Patriots waived QB Bailey Zappe for some reason. I’d pick him up in a heartbeat for the #2 spot.
  25. Chuck Sizzle baby !!!
