  1. Reduce it more ?? Sure, why not. I wouldn’t expect him to come off of the money. That being said he would have to ask himself how much another team would pay for a middle of the road RB? Does he know their system? Are they Super Bowl contenders? IF he were agreeable, yeah 2 maybe even a 3rd year tacked on. I’m still drafting his replacement.
  2. Option 4: Have a discussion with Mixon and his agent. Tell them we are suggesting not a restructure but a straight deduction in his pay for 2023 to 7-8 million dollar, with incentives up to 10 million. If they refuse that deal, cut Mixon with a post June 1st release. Then they bring in Elliott for the same deal they offered Mixon AND draft a RB. Even though I’ve been saying “restructure” the above scenario is what I’m suggesting.
  3. Ekeler had 13 rushing TD’s last year and averaged 4.5 ypg. He had 722 yards receiving with another 5 TD’s. Mixon’s numbers don’t hold a candle to any of Ekeler’s above. That being said, I’ve never said I don’t want Mixon, but he’s not worth 13 million. I get there are reasons he will probably stick around. However anyone making an attempt to justify Mixon being the 2nd highest paid RB in the league is beyond a shadow of a doubt… delusional.
  4. Only so much you can do in one draft. Could always trade down for more picks.
  5. I like Darnell Wright at OT in the first. He's a true RT and probably better than any option currently on the roster. Quentin Johnson going in the 2nd round is hilarious !! CB Tyrique Stevenson over RB Jahmyr Gibbs would have to be viewed as a reach, but could be worse. I would prefer Gibbs in that scenario. GIve me the #2 RB over the #6 CB. I'm a fan of TE Zack Kuntz. That wouldn't bother me either. Instead of S Brandon Hill in the 4th, give me WR A.T. Perry out of Wake Forest if Higgins doesn't come back. So my turn out in this scenario would look like: 1. Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee 2. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama 3. Zack Kuntz, TE, Old Dominion 4. A.T. Perry, WR, Wake Forest Nope, wouldn't blink an eye.
  6. Remember that year Leon Hall was due 10 million despite getting to a point he wasn't worth 4 million and they kept him anyway? He went on to start a whopping 4 games that year and left the next season. That should have been a lesson learned right there. If teams are paying players to be top 3 at their position and they aren't even in the top half, that's a problem. Hence, Mixon's contract is a problem.
  7. Let me ask this question... Does anyone think Joe Mixon should be the 2nd highest paid RB in the league for 2023? You already know my answer. Dalvin Cook is the highest paid RB in 2023, about 1.3 more than Mixon.
  8. For the record, it's not that I personally want Mixon gone. I would rather him stick assuming all his personal issues are under control, which I am not sure of. That and having his contract restructured. I've said this many many times already. You can't pay a middle of the pack RB 13 million a year on a roster where they are trying to extend Burrow, Chase and Higgins. Even outside of those three, Mixon isn't worth 13 million a year. He's just not. Now, I would love to see a backfield with Mixon and Elliott in it and think it could work out. If they still want to draft a RB, there's next to no concern in adding to that room. If Mixon's personal problems are an issue and he won't do the restructure, YES, say goodbye. That's not what I want though.
  9. I love the return game and hate that it appears to be diminishing. Nothing better than seeing a player, with those skills, work their way fluidly between huge human beings flying around and then turning on the afterburners on their way to scoring a TD. I loved it when Pac-Man was standing back their to take the punt, as you just knew there was a good chance you were going to see something special. Even if he doesn't take it to the house, the return was sure to be entertaining because that guy seemed to float and move unlike other players.
  10. That and they still have Tycen Anderson they drafted last year as well, but was injured. Not to say they may not add another S, but I would bet it won't be in free agency.
  11. Oh I get that. His comment was specific when addressing Zeke and the RB room. I don't think he's "fine" with the whole roster as is, but maybe not to the degree fans think he should be. Maybe the coaches think someone else on the roster is ready to step up and man some of those holes. Maybe not...
  12. Well coach Zac pretty much made it clear he was happy with the team as is. That doesn't mean they wouldn't consider Zeke or make a move, but by all accounts, that's not the case.
  13. He was hurt for a bit last year, but still had a decent year despite Pollard having a big year.
  14. Ezekiel Elliott has his choice of teams narrowed to the Eagles, Jets and Bengals ?? First time I him connected to us. Thoughts ??
  15. If we are talking WR, which I really hope we aren't, give me a guy with return skills that won't go early. Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston
  16. If they bring Higgins and Chase back, Boyd is gone in my opinion. The only way he sticks is if Higgins leaves. It's going to be a ton of money tied up in one position group. The draft makes it too easy to move on at a cheaper price point.
  17. Specifically, there are a handful of guys that could be had at various parts in the draft. For me, top targets early on would include: Mayer Washington Kincaid Musgraves After them, you still have solid guys that could be better pro than college TE's: Kraft Laporta Latu Kuntz Needless to say, we are taking TE(s) in this draft. Unfortunate they couldn't get something done in FA.
  18. I thought so as well. Was hoping to bring in Moreau and take a TE early. There are a few guys that would excite me in adding to this offense.
  19. So the odds of TE at #28 just increased.
  20. I honestly think it’s a win. The Browns panic in trying to add talent by picking up a WR that has yet to get even to 600 yards in a season. In doing so, they give up a second round pick. They don’t have a 1st or 2nd round pick this year. Yes I’m happy about that.
  21. They won 62 last season and appear to have gotten worse. I’ll go with 50 games.
  22. By pro bowl you mean a WR that has yet to eclipse 550 yards in a season ?? Yeah, color me unconcerned.
  23. So now the Browns don’t have a 1st or 2nd round pick? Good.
  24. I don't think I would worry about him being disgruntled, which I think he is, and how that would affect his play. I would be more concerned with how him being disgruntled would impact the relationships on the o-line. While I think he would do the best he could, should he remain, that's a contentious o-line room to deal with.
  25. I'm at a point today that I don't want additional picks. There is probably more value in swapping picks to move up in an earlier round than the 4th or 5th we might get in an extra pick for Williams. For example, would you move from 60 to somewhere in the 40's in the 2nd round? We would get better value in the 2nd round and rid ourselves of a player that doesn't want to be here, while saving 12 million dollars. Said team would get a starting caliber OT on the cheap and wouldn't have to give up a pick. Totally hypothetical, but we've made moves like that in the past.
