I was fortunate to have all of my grandparents live into their 90’s. We’ve been care givers to my mother in law for 18 years and due to Alzheimer’s is now in a home at 85. It’s both hilarious and sad at the same time. I can’t find a way to bring anger into that scenario. That’s where the soft spot for the elderly comes from.

My hatred of Mike Brown has dwindled over the last 5 years. Not because he’s done so many great things, but rather he’s fucking old. I find it hard to get upset with people that are lucky to remember their name.

I actually like the addition of Rehkow and McNamara. There were plenty of draft analysts that had them both in the top 3 of punters this past year. Might not beat out Mr. Mustache, but competition is a good thing.

Guess they never heard of government overreach. I could be wrong but something tells me there is something more pressing than artificial turf for our elected official to be spending time and money looking into. And they wonder why the average person hates politicians.

So Betfred apparently is leaving Ohio and taking it’s sports betting deal with the Bengals with it. Well, add another dollar to sodas, beers and dogs.

The stats are really odd to take a look at. There have been years where from a receiving yards perspective, "this" group of WR's are the best, but when looking at it from a TD's perspective, "this" group which is different from the other are the best. There have been years where Chase has done better and Jefferson has done better in one category or the other. Big plays, over 20 yards is another odd one to look at as well, where only once has Chase finished in the top 20 of the league. Another thing to consider when looking at stats for WR's is, who's the QB and what other receiving options are there? Chase has always had Higgins as a running mate, where Jefferson didn't have anyone to note until last year (Addison). When the Vikings brought in Addison, things changed a bit. He had more TD's and only 100 yards less than Jefferson. Does any of that make any of those guys better or worse than another? Not in and of the stats themselves. There are probably a handful of WR's in the league (maybe) more than could lay claim to being the best WR in the league. No matter where Chase falls in that grouping, he's going to be looking to reset the WR market when he does sign. To bring this full circle with the front office, EVERYONE who follows football knows the cap has and will continue to grow. When Mike Brown makes a comment like "The pie is not going to grow" it's just incorrect. It grows out of control. This is where I think Mike Brown's age is really catching up. They should just let "Pumpkin" do the talking. Sooner or later they should not let the soon to be 89 year old man get in front of media folks looking to bite into him. I've never felt bad for that man, but I hate watching older people struggle. I'm not there but will be some day. Someone better not put a mic in my face at that age, because you will probably hear some outlandish shit.

Got a bonus from work and a refund check for an overpayment on my escrow. Wife asked what I was going to do with it and I proceeded to show her the receipts for the Bengals and Buckeyes tickets I had already purchased !!! The silent treatment I'm now getting was an unexpected bonus to the whole thing !!! FUCKING FOOTBALL SEASON SON !!!

Obviously I don't have a stake in Ja'Marr's coming deal so in the grand scheme of things, I don't care. My opinion on the situation has nothing to do with whatever stupid media thoughts are out there. It's simply an easy viewpoint for anyone who follows the game. Ja'Marr is due a new deal and deserves it more than most. Him playing for peanuts this year is ridiculous. The Bengals shouldn't be ashamed because the media says so, they should be ashamed because they are screwing him. I don't need anyone else to point that easily deduced thought process out. Now, Zac said this was part of the plan heading into camp and that holds with me. Fine. I don't think Ja'Marr is going anywhere because I honestly don't think he wants to play with anyone but Burrow. None of it means the situation isn't complete BS. It's not like he finally had a good year and they don't know what to do. This has been coming since his rookie year. Dude is EXTREMELY underpaid in comparison to other WR's out there. If he is "holding in", which I'm not sold on, I really don't care about that either. I would say, at least he's there. Just get it done Bengals.

Didn’t see the run down from today but saw where the Bengals are hosting current UFL offensive player of the year. WR Hakeem Butler Make what you want of that. Dude has been everywhere and finally had a decent year by UFL standards. He’s 6’6 though so at least there’s that.

Someone forgot to tell the bad guys that was a rule. While I was never hit, my assault pack has bullet holes in it and our vehicle ran over an IED, but no one got hurt. The vehicle was toast though.

Yes, actually you do. It starts at 5 foot even for men. Fortunately for me, 5'7 was more than acceptable. On the bright side, a smaller stature makes for a smaller target !! That and I had no issues cramming my ass into the back of the vehicle with a full load out, while taller guys struggled.

Moss is still two inches taller than me. Talk about getting dwarfed by Brown and Mims !!

That video of Brown and Mims walking in together is interesting. Both are about the same size and weight, but the way they carry that weight is completely different. Not a knock but Brown looks fat where Mims looks like a lab built monster.

Trent Brown starts camp on the non-football injury list. Mims will at least be getting 1st team reps to start in camp. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him beat out Brown. I don’t expect it, but wouldn’t be shocked.

I really hate social media with every ounce of my being. I try to avoid it at all costs. Thanks for the update though !! Being a buzz cut kind of guy myself, I like the look !!

I honestly have no idea what the issue has been with the agonizingly slow starts. I won't pin it all on not getting preseason reps, camps being too soft, weight/cardio training, or food in the dining facility. It could be any of that, all of that, a combination of that, or even none of that. I would be speculating at best. That all being said, something hasn't gone right in each of the years which has led to slow starts. Burrow being injured, sick, or having surgery while camp is going on doesn't exactly help either. Not that it's his fault, but that plays a part. A healthy (fingers crossed) Joe Burrow would be welcomed in 2024. Again, them acknowledging it's an issue and being willing to try something different to address it is half the battle. Will what they do work? I have no idea. Even if they start fast, it might not even be a product of what they did. Crap shoot.

I will applaud them for making ANY effort to not come out week one looking like they just learned how to play football. These first few weeks over the last handful of years have just been embarrassing.
