Now they are just fucking with me.

Then you aren’t trying hard enough. There were much better prospects they could have given little to go get and even Cade Stover, who I thought was a better tight end. They obviously like him, but if he’s anything more than the guy that helps churn the bottom of the roster for the next few years, I’d be surprised. Easily my least favorite pick. C+

Round 3 (97): McKinnley Jackson, DT, Texas A&M
ArmyBengal replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
They currently have 7 CB’s and another 4 safeties. Dax is counted as a CB in that scenarios. Move him back to safety and that’s 6 and 5. At this point in the draft, color me doubtful they draft even one that could push one of these guys off the roster. Any secondary pick would end up on the taxi squad. I say that with at least 2-3 guys I would like to add. -
How is CB, TJ Tampa still on the board. Never saw him drop out of round two anywhere. A few good TE’s, Cam Hart still there. Jaylen Wright. Can’t believe Troy Franklin still there, not that we need him. Can we please manage a trade up today?

Round 3 (80): Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama
ArmyBengal replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
I wasn’t aware that TJ Whoseyourmama was working out with him to get him ready. I view that as plus for sure. I liked Burton’s talent already. Easily one my personal favorite picks -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

He’s not his dad, but I will be rooting for that. -

I guess… Again, other players I would have preferred. -

Guessing CB Cam Hart if he’s still there. -

I really like Burton if he can get his head together. He should do damage playing within this offense. Fun. B+ -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

I don’t mind Jenkins. They obviously felt comfortable sitting and waiting. However, I personally would have preferred a trade up when Powers-Johnson was so close. The cost would have been small. B+ -

Yes values of pick slots drastically decreases after the first round. Late round picks for next year should be on the table as well. -

I'm pro trade up for almost anyone the team thinks is going to be a good fit for what they need. I'm not going to fault them for being aggressive when sitting on this many picks. They don't have THAT many holes to fill. -
Round 1 (18): Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
ArmyBengal replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
The only person I saw comment about Mims "Taking himself out of the game" was Nick Sabin. Not sure why he would be commenting on that, seeing as how he was not his coach, but ok. I think that's a bit overblown on his part, but he's an ANALyst now, so whatever get clicks and people listening. -

Smart sent out a Tweet (or whatever they call them) to Mims yesterday. -

Profootballnetwork is the same way. Interesting to see. -
Round 1 (18): Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
ArmyBengal replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Another reason I shared the RAS on Mims, after I saw it, was the fact that not only have the Bengals not developed OT's throughout their history, they have not specifically drafted very athletic OT's either. When looking, the highest RAS score for a drafted OT was 9.15, with an average of 6.34. That's shit. Mims now represents the most athletically gifted OT ever drafted by the Bengals in the history of the team. People can compare him to Ogbuehi, but that's not a fair comparison either. Ogbuehi wasn't nearly the athlete Mims is and was a much older prospect when the Bengals drafted him. Mims is a MUCH better prospect by a long shot. I get the injury aspect and the lack of experience, but people also forget that Munoz only had 5 more starts, only playing 1 full season at USC in 4 and literally had 3 different season ending ACL injuries (2 in the right and 1 in the left). Am I suggesting Mims is going to be the next Munoz? Of course not. The Bengals have already noted they had him ranked higher than other defensive players and OT's that were still on the board. Fans don't have to like that fact, but the coaches have earned the benefit of the doubt. There, that was more trying to convince. LOL... -
Round 1 (18): Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

I was just sharing, not trying to convince. I honestly hadn't seen them. I like the pick and understand it all things considered. I also understand why some wouldn't. -

Of all the WR's I would have zero issues with, Franklin is not one of them. -

Fuatanu is going to be a guard in the NFL. I wanted no part of him. -

Well depending on which list people want to say is most accurate for "Best Player Remaining", about 20 of the next top 25 are defensive guys. I agree with you on that one Hoosier !! -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

If Powers-Johnson were to somehow fall, I would flip the fuck out. Couldn't possibly pass on him. The chances of that happening are pretty slim I would think. Newton in the 2nd would be a steal as well. -
I saw that last night as well and can't for the life of me figure out what they are doing here. Chase is just waiting and with each passing day, his contract just keeps rising and rising in dollars for the Bengals. Makes me wonder if they have the coin for another large guaranteed amount and exactly the reason Higgins won't be here next year (sadly).

And this makes me very happy. Still can't figure out for the life of me why the Falcons draft Penix when they just guaranteed Cousins $90 million on his FA deal.
