If Dax and Myles Murphy were linchpins for the defense, this whole scenario would look different. Dax would be entering the year before his club option decision was looming and the team trying to figure out how to pay him. Myles Murphy would make the Trey situation look much different and have the team to looking for his replacement in the draft, without thought of paying him market money. Even if the light goes on for Myles this year, they have him locked up for three seasons including the option year. Since that is not the case, they could afford to pay both Chase and Tee, because, well… who else are you going to pay?3 points

I see the same thing by and large Hoosier, but have found that when considering those OT's that will probably move to OG once drafted, my outcomes improve. Again, who knows how it's all going to play out? That's why I think we continue to see visits with guys like Minnesota, OT, Aireontae Ersery. Big, athletic OT's that will probably move inside, but still capable of backing up the OT spot as well in a pinch. That honestly might be the best approach as I view things anyway.2 points

No, no, I didn't take it that way at all. What federal agencies still exist come end of the year remains to be seen. Clearly, I'm an advocate for Veterans and always will be.2 points

From the Colts board. With that many teams and it doesn't even mention Eagles that were rumored "monitoring". Stick with the ridiculous trade package as long as you can especially when its rumored the Bengals have a $30m offer on the table. What's the point of trading Trey for compensatory pick value? Let him sit out and take a chance at the deadline a team gets desperate if he don't want your $30m.2 points

NFLPA Team Report Card: Category 14: Arby’s accessibility and quality: Cincinnati Bengals - 27th. Unlike some teams that provide Arby’s (Chiefs - unlimited Arby’s any time of day or night. Chargers - Arby’s free at lunch during season), the Bengals have only a coupon system to get Arby’s into the hands of hungry players. Several players complained about a certain zit-faced teenage drive through worker on loan to the Montgomery Road location from an Arby’s in Heath, Ohio. “This youngster argued with me about my coupon, but worst of all, he was very rude to several late middle-age customers who just weren’t familiar with Arby’s’s current menu,” said one player. Another Bengal player added, “If I hit on some of my incentive bonuses this year I’m going to hire a hitman to kill this pimply-faced teenager from the Montgomery road drive through. That’ll teach him to respect his elders. And to accept the coupon Mike gave me even though it says ‘Expires 9/2018”.2 points

Yeah Until the league allows for some form of roster expansion, position versatility is gold. There really should be 60-63 dressing for game day, allowing for one more sub at most every position That aside, most of the college OTs have arm lengths of 33 inches or less and will as such often become OGs1 point

The OT in the 2nd round I really, really like is Jonah Savaiinaea. Dude is going to be a OG in the league but could still get you backup duties at OT if needed.1 point

Army: every source I look at has Emmanwori well below Starks in their overall ratings why do you prefer Emmanwori? Im not knocking your preference here, rather, I'm picking your brain1 point

MemBou also wouldn't bother me in the least. Have to love the big, athletic linemen like him. Not sure he sniffs anything close to #17. Him outside the top 10 would be shocking. Don't let me rain on your parade though TJ. Keep hope alive.1 point

They are idiots. Bengals don't have 20% of the cap used up in dead cap. Thus the Bengals don't need to push cash paid this year into future years. The trade off is having Chase/Higgins in reasonable situations in the outer years. For example: The Higgins deal will allow them to get out of the contract after 2 years. IF they don't Higgins is only a $32m cap hit in year 3 and $36 year 4. So you basically got a two year deal with a injury plagued player none of the cap hits are not unmanageable in his deal. If he has his two best years they can keep for a 3rd. If he's only 60% of snaps played they can move on from him. That's the trade off the Bengals can evaluate Higgins's roster spot more on merit vs. an unreasonable cap hit years 3/4. They are married to him for 2 years. This is not hard to figure out and I can say that because its exactly what I posted on here several times. The ideal contract for Higgins was something they could get out of after 2 years without major cap implications because he has had trouble staying on the field. Quit listening to uninformed agenda driven social media. They are never going to say the reality because it is boring and boring don't drive people out there to watch their videos.1 point

Russel Bodine, Billy Price, and Eric Ghiaciuc. Names that will live in infamy. I throw those names out there not to trigger PTSD in your heads, not to bring up the CTE in their quarterbacks heads, but to illustrate what may be a major philosophical shift in the handling of the inside offensive linemen by Bengals management. The old way - draft a guy then you just play him almost no matter what. All three of those guys struggled at times, were overmatched at times, and were just asked to do more than they could. Didn’t matter to the bengals. It was kind of like hey, “we’re not worrying about center or left guard or whatever, we got this guy on a 4 year deal and we’re good there.” Meanwhile the poor guy is out there getting the living shit kicked out of him. No help, no reinforcements, no free agent starters brought in. The new way, which I will call the “Rental Tight End” model: bring in an inexpensive vet with a lot of experience who is desperate to extend his career. It has certainly worked with the TE spot. We know Burrow has a lot to do with that. But it now looks like our new IOL, Lucas Patrick, could be this year’s rental tight end, but he’s a guard. I’m all for it. The old way didn’t work. At least with this method we aren’t married to the guy and if he falters we can try again. Scherff looms.1 point

Vet. Nothing exciting. But I'd rather go cheap at G vs. cheap on pass rush. So hopefully this a coupled with a Trey return. PFF grades pass the smell test. Although I think those are highly overrated. Don't like that he's coming from low tier QB troubled offenses that aren't know high level passing attacks. Because that's what the Bengals are and that's what he'll be in IF he signs up for duty.1 point

That's why I don't really get all upset with whatever the numbers are. Much like Burrow signing the contract that made him the highest paid QB in history. That's just something to say, but is always short lived. Truth is, that in a couple of years, those deals will look like bargains simply because the cap and future deals with other players will do nothing but continue to grow. While I wish they would have gotten things done sooner with them, it really is neither here nor there. Tee and Chase will be here for a while with Burrow and the offense should be fun to watch. Just pay Trey already and let Golden get the defense back to middle of the pack. If that happens, we are right back in the thick of Super Bowl contention. I truly believe that and am happy to be able to feel that way about our team. It's a good time to be a Bengals fan.1 point

Murphy is a real question mark for me. On one hand I want to call him a bust. A team simply cannot draft a guy in the first round and get so little out of them. It hurts this team more because it's on the defensive side of the ball that anticipated him making more of an impact. Then again, he was like the youngest player in the draft a couple years ago and just turned 23. While a big guy, I can't help but wonder how much being so young played into it. That and he hasn't had a massive amount of defensive snaps and not a single start since being drafted. I think development of players also needs to be taken into consideration. He put up 25 reps at the combine. While that's solid, it falls short of what the average lineman should be putting up. Maybe it's mental for him, I don't know, but this is the last year I'm going to keep hope for it to click for him.1 point

It feels (at least to me) more likely that Trey and the Bengals come to some kind of arrangement that keeps him in Cincy now. He’s already on the cap books for around $19m, so there’s no issue there, and if the Bengals need cash, they can find it. On Trey’s part, reportedly he thought he could get a first, and it turns out he thought wrong. So hopefully he has a little more realistic view of the situation. If the Bengals really did put a $30-32m AAV deal on the table before he sought a trade, and if that’s still on the table, Hendrickson would be a fool not to take it.1 point

The point I was trying to make was, I'm not sure the DE we can hope to get in the 1st is going to be significantly better than the DE we can get in the 2nd round. If that's the case, #17 can really be an open book for BPA within reason.1 point
-
Bengals need Higgins 4 best years. If they get that then this could be gold. If they get the last 2. It could be a problem. Trey is supposedly home shopping in Cincy area, lol. That's off one of the youtube podcast. If the rumors are true the Bengals are offering that. Its hard for him to say no, IMO. If this group returns to the Superbowl and Trey moved on. Its like not going in on the work powerball pool and it hits.1 point

Thrilled to have Perine back. He was such a good pass blocker on 3rd downs, and when he got the ball he was crazy north south. Like he was up to speed in about one step. Really hurt to see him go to Denver, I can’t recall what the issue with keeping him was. If he’s the same player or close to it we just got a lot better in the offensive backfield, especially on 3rd downs. Also, we were kind of running our young guy into the ground, it’ll be good to lessen his load.1 point

It's hard to see Starks falling to 49 but this would be an awesome first three picks.1 point

I really don't see the value in Tee at $30m a year with Chase. Sorry. Tee has become the newer version of the Indoor practice field. Signing him is more symbolism vs. benefit. I would absolutely jump at any top 50 pick. Don't think the Bengals can trade Tee for a slightly better comp pick. Too much crying will happen. I doubt teams are offering up a top 50 pick. Trey - I say do it unless there's a basket of picks to be had. Although it be great to pay Trey just over the next 2 years. But if you have to risk year 3/4. He's just too consistent. You'd have to get a 1st or the equivalent in a trade. Not sure that's doable based on Hasson Reddick trade last year. Today, they are on the hook for $48m cash AND cap with Tee and Trey. If neither are here then that's at least $48m in cap room and realistically frees up $70m of cash. Then you'll have some sort of picks as well.1 point

Dvante Adams has a Taco Bell in his house. I think its silly for these players to also want food at their place of employment.1 point

2/24/25. A day to celebrate. I’ll be heading over to the Arby’s on state route 79 in Heath and ordering these bad boys from that ill -tempered teenager in the drive through who mocked me for trying to order them a year after they were removed from the menu. Who’s the idiot now, Tristan? I’m not the one wearing a visor backwards in February in Ohio.1 point

A Panthers wide receiver jolts awake, gasping and in a cold sweat. He quickly sits up, or actually he does not, he tries, but it's no use. His body does not obey his commands. He is stuck to the bed and short of breath. He sees the digital clock display on his nightstand. 14:14 AM. That's when the sleep paralysis demon crawls on top of him, all its weight pressing him into the mattress. He tries to scream, but his mouth will not open. Another voice slips warmly into his ear. Don't be afraid. Let's just have fun and play together.1 point

Oh I don’t think Duke has missed the fact the Eagles put together a nice roster. His son, Duke Jr. is a scouting assistant for the Eagles. Literally the last guy at the bottom of the scouting department staff, but part of a Super Bowl champion nonetheless. During the 2018 season, he handled Suite services for the Bengals.1 point
