ArmyBengal Posted September 1 Report Posted September 1 Ok, I know we are still 12 days from kickoff, but I went 3-0 starting game threads during the preseason and think back to the quote from Bull Durham... "Never fuck with a winning streak". So here we go. Week 1 of the 2026 season sees the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town. The offense will not see any new starters, but the defensive side of the ball sure will look different this year. DE Boye Mafe DT Jonathan Allen DT Dexter Lawrence S Brian Cook I'm headed down for the game and cannot wait to see these guys in action. The Bengals open up as 3.5 point favorites in this one and we get to see rookie Rueben Bain taking snaps after many discussions about wondering if the Bengals would take him before we traded away #10. Honestly, I just want to see this team come out and execute like they've see a football before. Hopefully last year's opening win was the first in a new streak of opening week wins to come. I'm also interested in seeing how the rotations work and who gets some of those additional snaps. The WR's, TE's, DT's and DE's specifically, along with what happens in the secondary. Come on Bengals. Just come out firing and make it happen. The stadium should be crazy loud !! 1 1 Quote

Although they are no Devry Branch Campus, there are 11 college games on tonight. Some teams from the Big10, SEC, ACC and others. I heard they are supposed to be good or something. I have SuperBowl hopes because next year we will lose both starting CB's due to the inactivity of the front office. ArmyBengal Posted September 8 Author Report Posted September 8 I don't think the Bengals keep both Dax and DJ. The old saying is true that you can't afford everyone. That being said, the cap continues to jump by leaps and bounds and the thoughts are it will continue to do so. It's why I think (any team) that is sold on keeping a player should extend sooner rather than later. A contract today will look like a deal in a couple of seasons. I do think the Bengals will keep at least one of the two and would painfully guess the cheaper of the two (Dax). However, the difference won't be as much per year as some might think. Neither Turner nor Dax are Christian Gonzalez and seeing that kind of deal. NEITHER. They aren't QB's where everyone up for extension resets the market. I expect much hemming and hawing from the Bengals and hope it doesn't create more chaos for the team. I'm also not holding my breath for that either. Quote
