ArmyBengal Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Still solid talent on the board. At what point does McCoy become a risk worth taking? Dude ran a 4.3 forty on a repaired knee. Has to count for something seeing as how he’s a top 10 talent when healthy. 1 Quote
Stripes Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago In my view, biggest needs on the roster: LB - duh, both starters sucked ass last year CB - starters outside are nearing extensions (or not), and Jalen Davis is not an inspired option in the slot OT - starters are good, backups are horseshit. Swing tackle needed. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago There is a lot of solid talent coming their way. Please don’t get cute Bengals. Quote
Stripes Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago No weird McKinley Jackson/Drew Sample/Jackson Carman shit, please. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Pregnon Haulcy Scott Branch Give me one of them please God. Quote
Stripes Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Tacario Davis, CB. Seems like a reach by about one round if mocks are better than meaningless. Quote
Stripes Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Quick! Barricade the doors! I hear TJ coming! 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted 9 hours ago Author Report Posted 9 hours ago Zierlein: Overview Davis is more disruptive than productive with size, length and strength to reroute releases from press. He slams catch windows closed when he’s in the neighborhood. While his physical traits make a wideout’s job tougher, their route-running prowess can do the same to Davis. He’s average matching breaks and more complicated routes tend to shake him. His long arms help him defend throws from deep zone and make tackles in the open field. An NFL staff should be able to coax more consistent run support from him. He’ll be tagged as a zone corner, but his eyes and range could earn him free safety consideration. Strengths Very tall with an impressive wingspan and plus ball skills. Able to knock releases off course with his length. Will squat on and jump short routes when he senses it. Impossible to throw over him when he’s in phase downfield. Keys quarterback to squeeze routes from zone shuffle. Gains speed quickly when his legs unfurl. Expansive tackle net to bring in open-field runners. Weaknesses Pops upright as his pedal progresses. Hitch in his transition when break catches him off-guard. Willing to grab instead of trusting technique and size. Athletic but struggles guarding multi-breaking routes. Inconsistent body control as a tackler. Quote
volcom69 Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Yea not sure about him, guess he is tall that’s about it Quote
COB Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I guess A&M ran out of edge rushers for us to draft. 1 Quote
Prophecy Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago 6'4" CBs usually dont work out. Sometimes they get moved to Safety. Longer legs are usually less fluid. Get juked and beaten by double moves. Hope he works out, but if Jermod McCoy is an injury concern, why isnt Tacario Davis? He only played 7 1/2 games last year. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I liked Davis in the 5th round. Keionte Scott would have pushed for snaps THIS year. Not sure Davis gets much minus injury. Reach… Quote
HoosierCat Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago Was watching Goodberry and Liscow’s livestream last night and Joe pointed out that Tacario was the last corner available with the size/speed combo the Bengals prefer for an outside guy. If he can play, that pushes Dax into the slot this year, and probably out the door in 2027. At the end of the day, this is just another consequence of three years of defensive line failures in both the draft and FA. They failed so hard at DT they had to fork over the 10th pick in a trade, and failed so hard at DE they had to spend 41 on an edge after drafting edges in the first in two of the last three drafts. So now LB is a mess and they’re reaching for corners and, oh, the offense is being completely ignored, because all the top dollar contracts and most of the premium picks are going to try and fix the dline…again. I don’t fault the approach. They didn’t have much choice. But the investment in the dline is staggering. I hope they finally get some results. Quote
