If we are talking about moving on, can someone tell me why the Bengals seem so obstinate in trading Trey?

Here's a guy they don't value enough to give anything more than a one year deal to, they are sitting at 2-4, have next to zero change of getting to the playoffs and they'd rather continue paying him for the remainder of the season and letting him walk away for nothing at seasons end instead of getting any type of draft compensation a trade would bring.

Since I brought up the trade deadline, I feel damn near any player should be up for discussion at this point.

It's not just Hendrickson. Fire sales have never been their style. There are countless examples in Bengals history of good players that play out their deals and are allowed to walk away for nothing in return. We were talking about it when Tee was on the tag. We talked about it with Bates. It's just how they roll.

Anyhow, speaking of Trey, word is he is pushing to play tonight but it's not likely to happen, per Rapoport. Officially he's listed as questionable.

Patrick also questionable. As expected Hudson has been ruled out (concussion).

Charlie Jones also questionable. Between that and no Gesicki and Hudson, and Yoshi's awful day in GB, I wonder if Burton might finally be active...

I’m going to google the endowment effect.

That’s a good way to get all the ads you see browsing changed to ones for dick pills and penis pumps…

I remember thinking the same thing the first time I came across it.
And people wonder why men never grow up...

It's sort of like dick and fart jokes.  Yep, always funny.

Good news - this whole season has been a big misunderstanding related to me not following my normal protocol for deciding which bengal hoodie or jersey to wear for a given game.  So I’ve fixed it so we’re back on track.  You’d think I’d wear my white burrow jersey tonight, correct?  WRONG!  It’s that kind of thinking that’s lost us all these games.  It’s black hoodie with the bengal stripe “B” logo tonight.

Based on the talk of Hassan Reddick last year Trey isn't getting them anything in October 2025 that won't be there March 2026.    Its going to be conditional/pick swap that value would be somewhere in the 100-150 draft pick range for an in-season trade.    A comp pick for Trey will be that range at a min.

Jets got a 4th round comp pick when he left in FA this past off season.

Bengals didn't conduct a fire sale with Bates or Higgins because during their time playing on 1 year/last year contracts  they were squarely in the playoff race.   AFC Champ, AFC Runner Up, 9-8;9-8.  The non playoff seasons they weren't eliminated until last weeks.

I guess that's assuming they tag Trey then in regards to what would be there in March of 2026?
He's an UFA after this year, with a void year that will cost them $6.5m in dead cap.
If they tag him next year, the projected tag for DE is thought to be roughly $26.5m.
I can't see that working out without more drama through the offseason and into camp again.

He's projected for another double digit sack season and if so, he's not going to be content to play on the tag.
Personally, I would rather them trade him now, get some draft compensation in 2026 and move on from the nonsense.
I love comp picks, but at this stage, getting a 3rd or 4th rounder in 2027 does them no good next year.

It's certainly debatable, but I just don't care to have that debate.  Just save the money, get younger and say thank you.

Burrow won five playoff games in two playoff runs.

I’m not even close to thinking about a new QB. Even a Burrow that gets hurt every other season produces a net-greater chance of winning a Super Bowl than Johnny Ordinary Draft Pick.

Can Taylor Britt inactive man how he has fallen

Jermaine Burton still can’t find the field and that sucks, thought there was some talent there

Still have a hard time understanding the Burton thing, he not even given a shot, unless he is that much of a trouble maker. I mean try him on kick offs or punts, hell Yoshi is struggling right now.
