HoosierCat Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM From pff: Risner surrendered just one pressure — a hurry on that three-sack series — across 24 pass-blocking snaps. Only once did a Bengals guard earn an 80.0-plus PFF pass-blocking grade in a game last season. In one game this season, Risner has matched that (80.5), pending reviews. Cincinnati’s run blocking left much to be desired, which will likely tank Risner’s PFF overall grade, but his ability to protect elite quarterback Joe Burrow was already apparent in Week 1. 1 Quote

Very impressive given that he had very little time to learn the offense or gel with the OL starters. I have no idea, but he might have been part of the run game struggles. I'll take it though. I hope Patrick didn't suffer something catastrophic. He's valuable depth (assuming they aren't ridiculous and stick with Risner). Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM Report Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM A division win on the road in week one?Yes please. 1-0 is better than 0-1. Did they look great? No Is there work to do? Yes Take the ugly win and get ready for week two. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM Yah we need all the healthy oline we can get. Just noting this because while I was not on the “RG is a disaster we need to sign Risner stat” bandwagon, props to those who were, we needed the guy and he came through. fun fact from cbs sports: This marked the first time in 55 years that the Bengals were able to win a game where they were held under 150 yards. Damn. 1970. Quote
HoosierCat Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM No matter what happens tonight, Bengals will finish week 1 on top of the ACFN. 1-0 overall 1-0 in the division 1-0 in the conference Best possible start. In the AFC only the Chargers can say the same. Quote
volcom69 Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Well once again the Ravens look fast as hell on offense geez! Quote

COB Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM Our total yards today - 141, versus the Browns who had 327. Quote
Saintsfan1 Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM Silver lining is Ravens have a tough schedule. After week 8, they have three straight road games. The Bills aren't done though. Quote
volcom69 Posted yesterday at 02:01 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:01 AM Geez these Ravens look so good and fast and that sucks! My gosh Quote
AMPHAR Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM The ref thing is annoying, IMO. I remember last year as well. Cleveland has crappy QB and WRs in comparison to the Bengals. It flips when it comes to secondary. I think the Browns had 4 or 5 passing penalties in the secondary today. 3 in the first drive. I think Bengals 1 all day. IF the penalties that were called on the Browns first drive were legit. Then there's no way in hell with the way the Browns play there's only 1 flag IF I'm remembering correctly. In the drive following the battle INT they could have and should have called PI on a ball to Gesicki IF any of those 3 first drive calls were the standard. Last year up in Cleveland Browns got a ticky tack one in the endzone that set up a TD for them. The refs actually picked a flag up on a call vs. Chase. It is bullshit. It was that way, IMO, in both Ravens games as well. Quote

COB Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Ravens have a great roster. They just have good players all over the place. That FO is clearly the class of the AFC North. Quote

volcom69 Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Well Bengals better get there offense going if they want to keep up with these two teams lol lol Quote
Stripes Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago HAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA RAVENS GOOD ONE DUMBASSES 1 Quote
COB Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago What a game, what a finish. Made our contest today look like two bums hitting each other with pieces from a dismantled grocery cart. Quote
Allentown21 Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago I've always said Allen is this eras Elway. Pretty lucky win for my bills. Bengals had a tough division game today but they got the w and that's all that matters. Burrow is still the best qb in the NFL imo and I think the bills vs Bengals are playing for the 1 seed in December. Bengals are still my favorite Week 1 is always weird Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy about the outcome regardless of how it looked. I will say this though, if week one is any indicator, both the Bills and Ravens looked really good. Zac needs to run an undercover guy into those two teams camps to figure out how both of them look so put together week one and we ALWAYS look unprepared for week one. Side note, Murphy can no longer blame Cap’n Crunch, Froot Loops, or whatever sugary cereal he was eating prior to this camp. Massive bust that cost this organization dearly. The impact of that miss really is crazy to think about. 1 Quote

Coaches have been game planning all year, there's new pieces and teams are rusty. I believe Cincinnati has the true star power to win especially in high leverage moments in the playoffs. If buffalo plays Cincy I think buffalo would need a game from Allen like tonight and a couple turnovers A division win is huge which is why I'm more concerned with beating the jets next week for my bills. The jets look good Quote
AMPHAR Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Its good to be 1-0 in division. There were multiple road teams that took bad division loses including NFC favorite Lions and AFC favorite Chiefs. Both looked like non playoff teams. However, preseason is an indicator of nothing as we can see the Bengals actually know how to be in run gaps vs. the preseason performance and unfortunately for football fans Week 1 and 2 teams are still ramping up. Week 1 and 2 is just something you try to survive and avoid facing the dreaded 0-3 start. Quote
AMPHAR Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Joe had another bad opener, period. Just watching some of the play break downs. I'm not sure you can put ALL the sacks on the line. But ball placement or timing was bad (to his standards) on several throws. The most notable were the back to back completions in which Cleveland defenders knocked them out of bounds. Ball should could have been better to secure those plays. He pulled a classic Andy tossing one that hits the white on a deep ball. Not sure what it is with him but I do think the threat of the Cleveland pass rush messed with his head a little. Quote
AMPHAR Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Lucas Patrick is a guy you may want to IR for a return and sign somebody for depth. He's been dealing with something lower body since the start of TC. Let him get healthy. Quote
