Looking forward to watching the game tomorrow night and it appears the starters will be going again in the first quarter.

Gesicki, Murphy, Volson and Stone are out.
DJ Turner is doubtful.
CTB and Dax will be playing.

Color me happy to see Stewart get more snaps due to Murphy’s injury. I would have preferred it for another reason and hope Myles heals up quick, but give me Stewart at this point. I think I know all I need to about Myles.

Also heard Noah Fant will be getting his first look in stripes as well so it should be interesting to see what he can do with the starters.

Just stay healthy !!

From the DC team site:

Quote
  • Quinn started his press conference by listing off players who will not participate in Monday's game. This list includes: McLaurin, Noah Brown, Jordan Magee, Marcus Mariota, Sam Cosmi, Laremy Tunsil, Brandon Coleman, Bobby Wagner, Von Miller, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Jonathan Jones and Zach Ertz. Although players like Ertz and Tunsil will miss the game because of their veteran status, most of the players on the list have been dealing with some sort of injury. Quinn did not provide any further updates on those players other than to say that they are on the path toward being ready for Week 1.
  • Quinn also confirmed that many of the starters would see action against the Bengals, although it won't be much. He said that quarterback Jayden Daniels will play "a few series." It is unlikely the Commanders will play many of their starters in the finale against the Ravens, which means this will be the only game reps Daniels will receive prior to the Week 1 opener.

I was under the impression our offensive starters were playing the whole first half, but now I understand it will only be the first quarter.

It makes these games so much more interesting to see the starters play even a few series.

Trey situation:  The requirement that guaranteed money be put in escrow is going to royally screw us going forward.  The Brown family doesn’t want to do it, they may not even have the $$ laying around, and it just generally is one of the worst developments in recent history for our front office.

The real irony here is that Mike has always tried to be such a stand up guy that signing a deal with him usually meant you were getting paid the whole thing.  We have a million examples of guys who under-performed their contracts and fucking Eagle Scout Mike Brown not only pays the whole thing, but the player will have his playing time protected.

His reward for all that?  Nothing.  The league and players are in 2025 not 1958.  Trey outplays his deal and immediately starts his holdout charade.  It’s gross.

I will be right back downstairs in my space, away from the wife and youngest who don't care about football.

I'd call it my man cave, but I really don't like calling it that.  It's mine and mine alone.  My oldest son is the only other person who has ventured in and understood the concept of regular life ceasing to exist in that space.  While in there, the door gets shut and there is no discussion about life events outside of sports.  If the conversation turns to something which can construed as "stressful" you are no longer welcome in that space.  Tread carefully.

There are lights, but I forbid them being turned out.  Wouldn't want to let life find out where I have hidden.
You can bring food and drink in, but when done, it remains in the room until I am ready to leave.
Need to use the bathroom?  Better hold it or risk not being let back in.

The goal is to be forgotten by everyone that has ever known you for a period of time of your making.
No exceptions.

You know, pretty much like heaven.  Only different.

Am I going to go to a sports bar and pay my hard earned money to eat a shitty burger and watch a preseason game?

Sigh. Yes, I am.

I recommend the shitty nachos or shitty chicken wings instead
