Yeah, "working out" on your own at your old college does NOT compare to working out on the field with a pro organization trying to learn a new playbook, with new coaches and new team mates.  Hopefully it clicks sooner rather than later for him, because we need it to.

Another bonus piece would be for Myles Murphy to remember how to be an impactful DE.

Mike Hilton signed with the Dolphins

I love that guy and will always be a fan of him

Thank you Mr HIlton for being a G R E A T Bengal

Eli Apple signed with the Chargers.

Didn't even realize he was still in the league.

Not to be a dick and not that I wish him (or anyone) ill, but if I had to pick a CB to take a training camp injury, Marco Wilson would be on that list.  Hope he heals quick though.  Sorry Marco.

Didn't realize Apple was still in the league either.  Playing for the Bengals really changed his trajectory.

Always liked Hilton when he was in stripes as well.  Wish him well.

So by all accounts the Bengals and Trey are good with the money part of the deal and simply (or maybe not) trying to hammer out guaranteed money.  I get the Bengals don't typically hand out guaranteed money after the first year and I also get that they may have concerns with doing that for a player that will be 31 this year.  I also have commented on Trey doing this shit every year.

However, just make it happen.

Despite the defense being bad WITH Trey last year, I do not believe they would be better without him.
The team needs Trey, the D-line players need Trey, the team needs Trey.
Make an exception in this instance, give him another year of some sort of guarantee and lets roll.

I've stayed on the path of "this gets done", but I just want to put it behind and get the preseason started.

Sounds like Trey is ending his holdout and reporting to camp tomorrow. Didn’t make it sound like a deal was close, but it can’t be far. Not like he’s turning down their best offer and playing for $16m.

It’s just the last few moves of the dance. Here we have the hold out progressing to a hold in. There will be a few more dips and pirouettes but he will eventually sign an extension, and it will have some token guarantees beyond the first year. Everyone can claim victory and our long local nightmare is over.

Shit… do you know what that means?

We have to find something else to bitch about now.

God damned O-line is in shambles. Fucking rookies and now Lucus is all broke dick and shit. If the stupid ass front office would spend some fucking money maybe we could save the season, but NOOOOOOOOO. Why would we do that ??? Jesus help us.

There ya go.

What's it like to be an actual top contender in the AFC? I have pasty water-colored memories of what it used to be like...

The Bengals are a legit top tier top 3 contender in the AFC

Chiefs - until proven otherwise mahomes is incredible

Bengals - burrow reminds me of Brady and has been the best qb in the NFL since 21 imo.

Bills - solid roster with this eras elway at QB. Defense has to show up in the playoffs....

Next tier is Baltimore and Houston imo.

NFC is a different landscape with lesser QBs imo but the eagles are obviously stacked and possibly the best roster. Hurts is underrated

To your point, yes I agree that is the best of the AFC...spot on

As for NFC, dunno what Hurts could do without that front 4 and Saquoun in the backfield

Good to hear daxton hill is back. He's an incredible athlete. The national media doesn't understand how many guys on the Bengals defense are either rookies, or going into their 2nd and 3rd yrs. There's going to be growth and a big jump in development...

So long Zack Moss, we hardly knew ye...

Quote

The Bengals today released HB Zack Moss. In addition, C Seth McLaughlin has passed a physical and is cleared to practice.

Moss, a sixth-year player, signed with the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent during the 2024 offseason. He played in eight games with six starts for Cincinnati last season, totaling 74 rushing attempts for 242 yards and two TDs along with 23 receptions for 187 yards and a TD.

McLaughlin had been placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list on July 19.

I can't wait for all the Mixon-hating, "Moss is the exact guy we need for our playstyle" jokers on twitter and youtube to weigh in now lolol.

Should have cut Moss earlier in all honesty.
Not because I didn't like the guy or think he could have been successful in this offense.
However, I think they knew that injury wasn't getting better at the end of the season.

Best of luck Zack and hope you heal up quick.

Zack had a great season with the Colts when Taylor was a holdout, to the point I thought we'd be ok even if the deal couldn't get done. Always knew we wouldn't keep him and always hoped he'd boost up another likeable team, but unfortunately sometimes our bodies give out before our dreams do.
