Allentown21 Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 What's up Bengals fans? I'm a buffalo bills fan looking for good NFL discussions and fun sports talk. Just wanted to start this account to tell you guys you're my pick to represent the AFC and win the Superbowl. I wanted to start an account to also follow my pick and just to make some new online friends during the off-season to help pass the time. I think you guys have all the pieces, and believe a lot of your younger talent on defense will step up. The Bengals don't really need a great defense to win it all, just some solid improvements. Guys like dj Turner, dax hill, the young linebackers drafted , jenkins at DT and obviously Stewart should bolster the defensive unit. Cam Taylor Britt is a top cb and one of my favorite players going back to his career at Nebraska The oline if healthy is talented at tackle and obviously the wr unit is the best in the NFL. Jamar Chase is the best non QB player in the NFL I also think burrow has been the best qb in the NFL since 21 and is very reminiscent of Brady / Montana. Allen reminds me more of Elway/ Big Ben Anyway just wanted to say I love NFL football and respect your team a ton. I was really hoping we didn't have to face you guys in the wildcard lol. I think we would've had to score 40 plus. I was way more nervous about you guys than the Ravens. Hopefully we see you guys in the AFC championship and the best team wins 1 Quote

Burrow was on fire winning 5 straight to end last year. I'm not sure we would've won if you guys got in...I fully expect the Bengals to be on fire to open the season. I think buffalo is a top 3ish team in the AFC but we're also depending on this rookie class to really contribute. Especially on defense. We're a bit different from you guys and have pivoted to a more ball control type offense that is probably not as explosive as Cincy is with Chase and Higgins. I'm really excited about Hairston and the other rookie cbs we drafted but chase and Higgins in a matchup for home field or in the playoffs is extremely stressful. Unless these rookie dlineman and rookie corners are stars quickly for buffalo, I just don't know if we have enough defensive prowess to beat you guys. Especially if in a one off playoff game and Allen is off Quote
AMPHAR Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Welcome. Unfortunately, I think until KC is eliminated, they are the deserving favorite. They've beaten ALL 3 obvious contenders multiple times reg and post. Then I think Bills, Ravens, and Bengals are certainly deserving of being labeled lead challengers. I would probably lean towards Baltimore simply because the Bengals defense can't slow Lamar down but they've been in several close one score games. Hopefully the Bengals can flip one this year. Bills are going to be tough. They should be no worse than 2nd seed, IF not 1st seed because that division appears to come up weak this year. I'm hoping Pitt and Clev stumble big time for once but we'll see. Both those teams see competent enough on defense to win a couple division games. So you have to realistically think 2 division losses for the Bengals would be the best to hope for. I do think IF the Bengals get positive returns on some of the young defenders they are then sitting on the leagues best talented team. They've had that in the past under Lewis and never got it done. No way to tell at this point how the young defenders will turn out under new coaching. If they flop it could nose dive the Burrow era just like ending the Boomer days. I am looking forward to that opening Sunday Night Game Bills vs. Ravens. 1 Quote

That team was loaded too Too me , I don't think burrow will fade out similar to boomer. Burrow is a higher level QB, although boomer was incredibly underrated and just as talented as Kelly. Burrow is simply too good to not win at least a couple super bowls. He's the best qb in structure and from the pocket in the NFL. I do believe he's the best qb and Cincinnati just needs the oline not to fall apart with injury and the defense to be avg Quote
Allentown21 Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 Everyone keeps hyping up Herbert and the chargers but idk. I like Herbert, he's obviously a franchise QB. But something is just missing. I can't put my finger on it Quote
Allentown21 Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 The Ravens are very good but I just don't trust Lamar in the playoffs. I just don't. The Texans have a fantastic defense, but defense is tough to maintain year to year and it's possible cj Stroud is good but not great. Quote
Coltsguy451 Posted Sunday at 04:03 AM Report Posted Sunday at 04:03 AM I at least once in my lifetime want to see a Bills vs Lions Superbowl. We've come so tantalizingly close to that in recent years Quote

Stripes Posted Sunday at 04:56 AM Report Posted Sunday at 04:56 AM I get it from an "if not my team" perspective. Bills/Lions would be a fun matchup. However, I selfishly do not want either of them to leave the "no rings" ranks before the Bengals. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Sunday at 01:04 PM Report Posted Sunday at 01:04 PM Ok yeah good matchup. It would be that. I forgot about the fact they hadn’t won a championship either. I would root for the Lions in the scenario. I use to be cool with the Bills and the Bills Mafia, but that fan base might be the biggest bunch of dickheads in the league. Quote

That would just be such a huge paradigm shift...or possible sign of the Apocalypse... maybe like the World Series between the Cubs and Indians. Back to the Future stuff Two franchises with long suffering fanbases and whoever wins there's a great story of redemption As long as the Bills don't meet the Bengals in the playoffs, otherwise refunds are in order Quote

Back to the Future stuff The tribe would have won that game 7 if that stupid rain delay hadn’t occurred. Our setup guy, Bryan Shaw, was on the mound in extra innings and I knew he’d get it done. Then 20 minute rain delay, Shaw was pretty old and I knew there was no way that once he was warmed up, he’d be able to handle that delay. Sure enough he gave up the game-winning run, leaving me personally traumatized, bitter, and ultimately, truly, without hope. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted yesterday at 02:55 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:55 PM Maybe it’s our history of suckage that prevents me from wanting to see another team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl get there before us. I get it though… Quote
