And I see things are going just fine up in Cleveland...

I think it was back around 2001 when the Bengals had a QB competition between Akili Smith, Jon Kitna and, if memory serves, Scott "the water buffalo" Mitchell that someone quipped that if you have three QBs, you have no QB. So if you have six QBs, is that like negative one QB?

There's was one time.  Bengals had a 3-way QB competition going.   All of them faced shoulder fatigue similar to what the Browns are going through now.   Kenny Anderson was QB coach.   He came in an ran 7 v 7.   It was the best 7v7 of camp, ball didn't hit the ground.   3 things you knew right there:

1. Ken Anderson - Hall of Fame

2. QBs sucked

3. Secondary sucked

The Browns are pretty much screwed with Watson, but yeah it should be interesting to watch.
Personally, I'm hoping he gets healthy and shows up ready to go.  I would laugh my ass off.

Remember all the headlines yelling COLLUSION about teams not willing to give fully guaranteed contracts after Watson signed his?  That ruling came down and it was crickets after that.  No one complaining now.

Yes Cleveland, you and a sexual predator with injuries preventing him from playing occupy that island alone.

Vikes WR Jordan Addison suspended for the first three games, so he will miss the week 3 game against the Bengals.

Quote

Given how Addison cooked as a rookie when these teams met in 2023 — an epic 27-24 Bengals triumph in overtime, it should be noted — I sure won't miss seeing him in action!

Jordan Addison: perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted vs. the Bengals

6 targets, 6 receptions
5 first downs
111 receiving yards
2 TDs

I'll take all the breaks we can get.

Brandon Scherff must not have been healthy.  I had a post ready if/when we signed him:  “There’s a new Scherff in town.”  Or something along the lines of “Scherffing Safari.”  Tip your veal.

I think "guard talk" with Asriel Abyss is overblown.   Schreff would have been off the board before the draft if everything was 100% football for him.   Clearly it wasn't.   There's multiple guys cut from the Bengals with jobs before final cut down day.

If you love PFF.  The top FA guard just fired off a 50 for the Vikes in preseason action.  I don't think PFF or the way fans attempt to use it is worth a crap.  Fun, but not worth a crap.

The only valid concern about RG, IMO, is what happens IF/WHEN the tackles go down?   They have every year with Burrow.

Again, if RG is viewed as the "Be all, end all" of the 2025 season, someone is overvaluing things a bit.

That being said, I don't like any of the RG options this year.  Literally any of them.

I think Patrick is their best option and I'm hopeful he earns the starting nod.

Injuries anywhere along the line could be problematic, but the Bengals are FAR from the only team dealing with o-line weaknesses or depth concerns.  The outcomes from the defensive side of the ball are a much bigger concern for me as the season draws near.
