Don’t really care about any of it.

Higgins, no Higgins.
Chase, no Chase.
Injuries or not.

If this team is suppose to be a high end Super Bowl contender, they should be able to beat a hapless Pats team as long as they have a healthy Burrow.

Does he make the players around him better or is he Dalton who has to have everything line up? I’m guessing the former.

Bengals - 27
Patriots - 17

This isn't the SEC vs the OVC.    Its week 1 NFL.

1. Upsets happen straight up and even more against the spread. Every year.  Survivor pools are normally cut in half or greater.

2. Superbowl contention is nil and void week one or even 1st month.  Just manage the first month and try avoid putting your playoff chances on life support.  5-5 after 10 games will have you alive for numerous playoff paths.

Everyone is all fired up because this team hopefully does great things.  I hope they will.   Remove all the emotion and the hot takes.   They could lose this game with Chase/Higgins and still be the best team come playoff time.

I think they win, but if they don't I'll never confuse Joe Burrow with Andy Dalton.  Like never.

At this point i would let Burton come in and show what he’s got. Really think he could do big things if they give him a chance.

I just read nbc sports reported Higgins is unlikely to play.  So we might actually see Burton.  Hopefully he can run the right routes, supposedly he’s having trouble keeping stuff straight on the field.

Higgins - it’s a long season, a strained hamstring could really turn chronic if you push it so I see what they’re doing.

No confusion whatsoever.  Merely pointing out that was what Dalton needed to be successful.
I believe Burrow makes everyone around him better.  Hence why I could care less who is or isn't playing.
It's why I'm not the slightest bit stressed about week 1.

If he goes into this game with Iosivas, Burton, Jones and Irwin as their 1-4, they should still beat the Patriots.
Why?  Because I believe Burrow is good enough to make that happen.  Week 2?  Not so sure about that.
I won't be worried about week 2 at this point either though, so still don't care.

Army you are dead on.  Burrow can make a guy’s career.  Look at those two tight ends.  Uzomah and Hayden Hurst were both journeymen type guys until they played with Burrow.  Then they both got paid.  There are receivers who’ve played with a good qb, took the $$ elsewhere and turned out to be not all that great.

NBC just said if Chase does not sign a deal that he won’t play, Chase said he would play, who hell knows who is telling the truth anymore. Chase said the Bengals front office told him earlier in the spring they would sign him this summer to a new deal, if that’s the case then this is on the Bengals front office as it is on Chase, but at some point he needs to stop crying. Finally we get a healthy Burrow and now deal with WR drama, it’s never ending with this team at the beginning of the years lol

But wait, there’s more!  Jenkins isn’t just out, he’s having surgery on his thumb.

Our first and second round picks are both out with injury before we’ve even played a game.  Standard bengal draft pick story - sturdy college player shows up and turns to glass as soon as he enters Hamilton County.

Annoying but whatever is wrong it doesn’t seem serious with Zac saying he could be back as soon as KC.

I don’t believe anything coming out of Chase’s mouth at this point. This is not to defend the FO at all, just that 100% of the contract drama has come from him and his agent. I don’t care if he plays or sits out, but I agree it’s time to pick one and STFU.

I don’t believe anything coming out of anyone’s mouth.

Chase wants money.
The Bengals want to save money.
The media wants you to click their story to get money.

Each group is going to say whatever is in their best interest to say. Sit back, have a drink and enjoy your Saturday. Tomorrow is going to come regardless of all the noise !!

Taxi squad WR Kendrick Pryor bumped up to the active roster for the game. Note he was also used in the running game in college (5 TDs).

I swear if they play him over Burton, man that would piss me off.

I don’t know looks like this team is full of divas, and guys all about themselves. They really going to try and ruin the season by calling in sick and who knows if Higgins tells the truth. You have guys on the team going on Twitter telling them to quit screwing with Chases money, I don’t seems all messed up

Now Chase has an illness, man sounds like me when I don’t feel like going to work, think I’ll call in sick lol.

I think it’s just a change to the nir (non injury) designation. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Yea right they just care about the money, Chase said I’m not going to be selfish because he wants and Higgins and Burrow to be here. Well now he wants to beat the shit out of JJ with the money. He is so full of shit
