Week 5: Bengals @ Cardinals Game Thread

Ok now that we should see a win here now the real question is where the heck has this offense been?

Did his hurt calf all of a sudden heal in a week, or was it that this offense was so out of sync, or did they change there playbook?

Either way it was very refreshing to see the offense today, now can they keep it going all year round that is the question.

So when the offense got out to the big lead the defense finally started playing good defense, before that not really sure what kind of defense we were watching.

Great Win today!

Like I’ve been saying it’s 100% the calf. Joe was finally comfortable moving around today and you can see the difference. He’s clearly still not full go, hence the dink and dunk game plan early on, but he’s getting there. Hopefully he didn’t stress it too much today.

Fortunately the division blows so a win next week against the hags sends them into the bye in decent shape.

Radio announcers called attention to the catch by Lassiter for 2 yard close to the end of the game

Turns out he was made a captain this week because his dad played his career with the Cardinals and they fed him the ball while his family was watching

this is the kind of thing that gets players to love this team

Unfortunately, they won’t be playing the Cardinals every week. That’s not a good team by any measure.

That being said, knowing this was a big game for them on the road, they did what a good team should do and handle business when it matters most. It’s certainly a nice building block and sets them up to hit the bye week at 3-3.

Go handle the Seahawks at home next week and get ready to start the run coming out of the bye.

Nice job today…

I know there is no stat for this but there should be -

Someone should measure the amount of time it takes a receiver from the time the ball is in his reach to the time he has it safely tucked away.  Because if the measured that, Jamar Chase would lead the league by a mile.

It is freakish how fast he snatches a ball out of the air and tucks it away.  And he does it in heavy traffic.  Guys never seem to have a breakup chance with him.  It’s an important skill and Chase is amazing at it.  I’m watching him run crossing routes, the ball gets near him, then the next thing I see is he’s got it tucked away, it happens that fast.
