The Bengals have beaten them three times in a row, by 10 points and then 14 points and then 31 points. Anything less than a fourth straight win (by any margin) would be unacceptable to me.

The Steelers are a quasi-criminal enterprise in bad decline.  Tomlinson can do his tough guy pose in his aviators all day, won’t matter.

Last years Bengals line played their best games against Pittsburgh.

Can’t really go off anything from last year in that regard.   The way to beat Burrow is pressure from 4 and stop run with 4 down.

So that’s the key,IMO.  The Steelers don’t really like only rushing 4.   Something got to give.

If they get into a situation with little run game and the Steelers can run loops and stunts they’ll probably get home at a high rate.

Lmao. PFT:

Quote

The Steelers’ first depth chart of the week listed Mason Rudolph as the backup to Mitch Trubisky. He’s not. Coach Mike Tomlin explained it as a “clerical error,” but whatever the reason, Kenny Pickett now is No. 2 on the corrected depth chart.

Rudolph remains in Pittsburgh as the No. 3 quarterback and, on Sunday, won’t dress for a game for the first time since his rookie season of 2018.

Rudolph is of course, pissed, but hey he gets$4 million this year and now he doesn’t even have to stand around on the sidelines being bored for 3 hours to earn it.

Hobs:

_The first injury report of the season comes after the first full practice in the week of the opener and it's the healthiest they'll be. On Wednesday only tight ends were listed. Drew Sample, who missed virtually all of training camp with a sprained knee, is officially back full. Mitchell Wilcox (ankle) was limited. The only guy that didn't practice is one of the newest Bengals, Devin Asiasi (quad).

Before we kick off 2022, it cannot go without saying how happy I am to have Burrow QB'ing this team.

For those long time fans like myself, let me also say, I'm glad to be sharing this with all of you.

Wish Billy was here to witness all of this. Hard to believe it's been almost 4 years.

WHODEY !!!

Zack and the Rams coach are bros.  They both refuse to play most starters in preseason games.  I agree with this strategy.

Unfortunately, the Bills sacked Stafford 7 times last night.  Rushing 4 each time.

Offensive lines take time to gel.  They aren’t like receivers just beating their own guy.  O linemen work as a unit.

Hopefully they got a lot of reps together in the full contact practices with the Rams.

Yeah that thought crossed my mind.  Rams did not look ready to take on full speed front 7 of Bills.    Stafford had to get the ball out quick to have any chance and that took Allen Robinson completely out of the target list.   Couldn't run but they struggled in the Superbowl running the ball as well.

Hopefully ZT has better luck this Saturday.    Tomlin would be an idiot not to find out about Volson early.    It has never been in the Steelers DNA to straight up rush 4.

Zac would be an idiot not to give Volson some chances to win in the run game early.

Collins practicing but something iffy going on with his ankle. Seems like something to keep an eye on.

IMO, Collins has been iffy all along.   Hopefully this dude can answer the bell that clip they keep showing with 3 linemen pulling out of the chutes does not give confidence, IMO looks slow and tired.
